Objective To explore the correlation between psychosomatic health and depressive symptoms among university students. Methods Using a stratified random sampling method we selected 1197 students from a university in Wuhan and adopted the 21 - item Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) together with a self - designed questionnaire for assessment and data collection. We received completed questionnaires from 1179 students (432 male and 747 female students). We computed the contingency frequency of study variables and examined risk factors for depressive symptom using conditional logistic regression. Results We observed about 30.27% of the young students with depressive symptoms, and 24.34% , 5.0% and 0.93% of them had a mild, modest and severe depressive symptom, respectively. The rate in female students was slightly higher than that in male students (31.86% vs 27.55%). We compared variables such as sex, study year, speciality and liveplace of family with the BDI scores by Chi - square Test, but there was not significant difference. We performed a part of multivariate logistic regressions and adjusted with sex, study year, liveplace of family and singlechild. Objective To present the experiences in using the tubularized incised plate urethroplasty (Sondgrass procedure) for hypospadias repair. Methods Tubularized incised plate urethroplasty was performed for 43 cases of hypospadias including 35 distal penile shaft and 8 penoscrotal hypospadias.9 children have had a history of failed urethroplasty.Dorsal plication was carried out for 10 chordees.Bladder drainage was maitained for 10 days.After withdrawing the drainage,regular urethral dilatation was conducted. Results The patients have been followed up for 4～11 months and a good functional neourethra with a vertical slit like meatus was observed.There has been no chordee or stricture.5 patients had urethro cutaneous fistula,4 have been corrected. Conclusions Tubularized incised plate urethroplasty can be used in distal and proximal hypospadias repair including those with chordee and is especially indicated for patients without enough penile skin after failed urethroplasty.

Objective To evaluate diuretic renogram (DR) in the assessment of therapeutic effect on dilated upper urinary tract in children. Methods A total of 54 children with 66 sides of dilated upper urinart tract undergone surgery had been followed up by DR examination. Results According to the renal blood perfusion rate (BPR),the dilated upper urinary tract was divided into 3 catagories,the minor,medium and the major.In minor and medium catagories (49 sides),the renogram on 37 sides changed from obstructive pattern (no excretory phase) to reduced excretion ones which slopped downward obviously on frusemide administration (dilated nonobstructed pattern).The renogram had no change on 12 sides.In the major catagory (17 sides),BPR changed from 23.8?3.5% preoperatively to 33.4?6.4% postoperatively ( P

Objective To investigate the effect of point Zusanli acupuncture on serum creatine kinase (CK) and creatine kinase isoenzyme (CK-MB) in high-intensity military training soldiers and explore its possible antifatigue mechanism.Methods Sixty healthy soldiers were randomly allocated to groups A and B, 30 each. Group A received acupuncture at point Zusanli and group B, no treatment. After two weeks of treatment, two groups of soldiers separately did 5 km high-intensity running training and fulfilled the requirement of army examination. CK and CK-MB were measured in two groups before and after training and five days after training.Results In the two groups, there were statistically significant differences in serum CK and CK-MB contents between before training and after or five days after training (P<0.05). After or five days after training, there were statistically significant differences in serum CK and CK-MB contents between groups A and B (P<0.05).ConclusionsAcupuncture at point Zusanli can effectively improve bodily antifatigue ability and reduce myocardial and skeletal muscle injury caused by high-intensity exercise in military training soldiers.

Objective To investigate the effects of different acupuncture therapies on serum branched-chain amino acids (BAC and free tryptophan (F-Trp) in high-intensity military training soldiers. Methods Ninety healthy soldiers were randomly allocated to groups A, B and C, 30 soldiers each. Group A received treatment with electroacupuncture at Zusanli; group B, treatment by cupping on Zusanli;group C, no treatment. The three groups did a high-intensity 5 km running exercise after two weeks of treatment. Serum BACC and F-Trp contents were measured in the three groups before and at the end of treatment and at five days after treatment. Results It can be seen from table 2 that there were no statistically significant pre-treatment differences in serum BACC and F-Trp contents between the three groups of soldier subjects (P>0.05); there were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in serum BACC and F-Trp contents in the three groups of soldier subjects (P＜0.05). There was a statistically significant post-treatment difference in serum BACC content between group A or B and group C (P＜0.05). There was a statistically significant difference in serum F-Trp content between group A or B and group C at the end of treatment and at five days after treatment (P＜0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture therapy can effectively improve bodily anti-fatigue ability and reduce high-intensity exercise induced muscular injury in military training soldiers.

Objective To observe how different measuring methods of corneal curvature produce affect postoperative corneal a-stigmatism correction after implantation of TORIC artificial lens .Methods To measure 4 teams of age-related cataract patients complicated with regular astigmatism of more than 1 .0D by the procedure of manual keratometer ,IOL Master ,auto keratometer and Pentacam respectively .The Toric artificial lenses were precisely placed in appropriate position in phacoemulsification surgery .We observed the uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) ,best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in 1D ,1W ,1M ,3M before and after the sur-gery ,corneal astigmatism after the surgery ,as well as anticipated and consequent residual astigmatism .Results The variance analy-sis of absolute-value deviation between anticipated residual astigmatism (ARA) and best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) is P<0 .0001 ,the above difference was statistically significant ;we consider that the astigmatic deviation measured by the four methods is different ;besides the deviation of paired comparison results between Master-team (0 .322) and auto-team (0 .242) ,auto-team and manual-team (0 .218) ,manual-team and Pentacam-team(0 .107) is more than 0 .05 and not statistically significant ,all the remaining paired comparison results are statistically significant ,(P<0 .05) ,the Pentacam-team (0 .082) is the minimum deviation ,while the IOL Master-team (0 .422) is the maximum one .Conclusion The measuring result to estimate the exact value of Acrysof Toric IOL by Pentacam is more accurate than by other methods .

Objective To investigate hepatic pathohistological changes(including pathology,HBV markers in liver tissue)in patients with KBeAg negative chronic hepatitis B after adefovir therapy for 1 year.Methods 35 patients with HBeAg negative chronic hepatitis B were administered with 10mg adefovir once a day for one year.The needle biopsy of liver were performed before and after treatment.The routine HE stained liver tissue sections were evaluated and Knodell pathological score were done.HBsAg and HBeAg in liver tissue were examined by immunohisochemisty method.Results After 1 year,18,17 and 11 cases had a significant reduction of their total hepatic HAI score,necroinflammation and fibrosis score.The immunohistochemistry examination showed HBeAg in liver decreased significantly,but HBsAg had no obvious alteration.Conclusion Significant improvement in both necroin flammation and fibrosis can be obtained in the majority of patients treated with adefovir for 1 year.More significant improvement in live histology can be obtained after extended treatment.

Objective To evaluate inspiratory and expiratory high resolution CT (HRCT) lung findings in normal adults and set up inspiratory and expiratory HRCT criterion for further clinical diagnosis and differentiating diagnosis. Methods Sixty-four healthy adults underwent inspiratory and expiratory lung HRCT scanning. The lung density and slice area in upper, middle and lower fields were measured in inspiratory and expiratory phases respectively. Results The lung density in inspiratory phase was (-795?58)HU, the lung density in expiratory phase was (-706?59)HU, the inspiratory expiratory value difference was (90?43)HU, and the expiratory inspiratory area ratio was 0.72? 0.14. Conclusion HRCT will be a new method for lung function testing in future.
