Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2012;26(16):729-732
OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the correlation between tinnitus severity and anxiety experienced by patients in order to explore its role in the rehabilitation of the tinnitus.
METHOD:
A total of 119 patients complaining of tinnitus were recruited in a cross-sectional survey. Correlation was studied by series of instruments including tinnitus general questionnaire, tinnitus handicap inventory (THI) and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS).
RESULT:
Significant correlations between THI and SAS scores (r = 0.573, P < 0.01), and between THI classification and SAS scores were shown (r = 0.551, P < 0.01).
CONCLUSION
There was a moderate positive correlation between tinnitus severity and anxiety. If a patient reports a THI greater than 38, the otolaryngologist should supplement diagnostic studies with a psychological consultation.

Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2020;29(4):361-367
Objective:To explore the effect of supportive-expressive group therapy (SEGT) on alexithymia in patients with lung cancer. Methods:Totally 62 lung cancer patients were divided into control group( n=30) and intervention group( n=32) by coin flipping method. The intervention group received 6-week supportive-expressive group therapy and the intervention path was improved by action research method. There was no special intervention in the control group. The Toronto alexithymia scale (TAS-20) and hospital anxiety and depression scale (HADS) were used for measurement, and statistical analysis was carried out by SPSS 21.0. Results:The emotional recognition disorder (Wald groupχ 2=6.055, Wald interactionχ 2=15.157), emotional description disorder (Wald groupχ 2=5.736, Wald interactionχ 2=28.912), TAS-20 (Wald groupχ 2=7.181, Wald interactionχ 2=28.126), anxiety (Wald groupχ 2=4.905, Wald interactionχ 2=30.491), depression (Wald groupχ 2=9.580, Wald interactionχ 2=29.417) and HADA (Wald groupχ 2=8.140, Wald interactionχ 2=47.851) had significant group effect and interaction effect at the pre-test, post-test and 1 month after intervention(all P<0.05). There was no significant group effect in extroverted thinking (Wald groupχ 2=1.161, P>0.05), but the time effect (Wald timeχ 2=6.381, P<0.05) and the interaction effect (Wald interactionχ 2=6.339, P<0.05) were significant in the three time points. The group effect of emotional recognition disorder, emotional description disorder, TAS-20, anxiety, depression and HADA score at completed intervention and 1 month after intervention were significant(all P<0.05). Compared with before intervention, TAS-20((52.94±4.77) , (52.06±4.07)), emotional recognition disorder((17.72±2.23) , (17.78±1.64)), emotional description disorder((13.44±1.94) , (13.41±1.79)), HADA((14.41±2.63) , (13.75±2.97)), anxiety ((7.03±1.64), (6.84±1.51)), depression ((7.38±1.45) , (6.91±1.75) ) at completed intervention and 1 month after intervention decreased ( P<0.05), while the HADS of control group only decreased at completed intervention ( P<0.05). Conclusion:SEGT can reduce alexithymia in lung cancer receiving chemotherapy, and this intervention has positive effect on improving anxiety and depression in lung cancer patients received chemotherapy who are accompanied with emotional cognitive impairment and emotional somatic symptom recognition disorder.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2012;26(19):871-873
OBJECTIVE:
To study the long-term rehabilitation effects for treating tinnitus by tinnitus masking combined with counseling.
METHOD:
Complete the tinnitus handicap inventory(THI) for participants before treatment and after six months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years.
RESULT:
Eighty-six tinnitus patients participated. Nine participants and sixteen, twenty-six, sixteen participants drop-up during the follow up after half-year, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years separately. The percentage of participants whose THI score decreased more than or equal to 20 are 66%, 56%, 40%, 48% after half year, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years respectively.
CONCLUSION
The tinnitus related handicap improved by tinnitus masking combined with counseling after 1 year. The drop-out rate was increase after follow-up 1 year. The long-term rehabilitation effects for tinnitus treatment is still needed.

Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2022;28(18):2412-2416
Objective:To explore the current status and influencing factors of breathlessness beliefs in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) .Methods:Using the convenient sampling method, a total of 167 COPD patients who were admitted to Henan Provincial People's Hospital from April to September 2021 were selected as the research objects. The general information questionnaire, The Breathlessness Beliefs Questionnaire (BBQ) , Social Support Revalued Scale (SSRS) and Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory-Short Form (MFI-SF) were used for questionnaire survey. Results:The BBQ score of 167 COPD patients was (40.92±8.77) , the MFI-SF score was (54.83±14.21) and the SSRS score was (41.23±8.19) . The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that disease grouping, general fatigue, physical fatigue and MFI-SF were the influencing factors of breathlessness beliefs in COPD patients ( P<0.05) . Conclusions:The breathlessness belief in COPD patients is related to disease grouping and fatigue degree, suggesting that relevant measures should be taken to reduce the cognitive level of fear of dyspnea and activity, so as to improve the exercise level and quality of life of patients.

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2020;49(3):283-290
OBJECTIVE:
To assess the efficacy and safety of aromatase inhibitors (AIs) combined growth hormone in treatment of adolescent boys with short stature.
METHODS:
One hundred and fifty-one short stature pubertal boys with age of 10-14 years and bone age of 13-15 years, who were admitted to the Department of Pediatrics, the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, were included in this trial. According to their own or parents' intention, the children were divided into recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH)+AI group ( =108) and rhGH group ( =43). All children were injected subcutaneously with rhGH 0.15-0.2 IU·kg ·d , and those in rhGH+AI group were additionally given 2.5 mg/d letrozole or 1 mg/d anastrozole, orally for 12 months or longer. The children were followed-up every 3 months. During the follow-up visit, the predicted adult height (PAH), sex hormone level, glucose and lipid metabolism, and other indicators were measured, and adverse reactions were monitored.
RESULTS:
After intervention, there were significant differences in ΔBA(bone age)/ΔCA(chronological age), ΔHtSDS (height standard deviation score based on bone age)and ΔPAH between rhGH+AI group and the rhGH group( < 0.05 or < 0.01). During follow-up, 63.9%of the children in the rhGH+AI group had elevated uric acid and 51.9%had decreased high-density lipoprotein (HDL); 25.9%showed severe acne, excitement, hyperactivity and irritability, 11.1%had knee pain; 4.6%had fracture; 2.8%had mild renal dysfunction; 1.9%had inactivity, drowsiness, memory loss and performance decline; 1.9%showed mild abnormal liver function; 0.9%showed impaired fasting glucose; 0.9%showed granulocytopenia. In the rhGH group, 11.6%of the children presented with knee pain and 2.3%with impaired fasting glucose.
CONCLUSIONS
AI combined with rhGH can delay the growth of BA and effectively improve the PAH of adolescent boys with larger bone age. However, the occurrence of adverse reactions of AI should be closely monitored during treatment.
