AIM: To observe acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including acute myocardial infarction (AMI), and unstable angina pectoris (UAP) and plasma monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) in patients with restenosis after angioplasty, and compared with normal controls. METHODS: Sixty-eight patients were selected from the Department of Cardiology, Third Hospital Affiliated to Peking University between December 2005 and April 2006, including 30 patients with AMI, 20 patients with UAP and 16 patients with restenosis after angioplasty. Thirty healthy people were selected simultaneously to be the controls. All subjects knew and agreed with the items. The level of blood lipid was determined in all enrolled subjects: ① Blood sample was obtained from the elbow of patients with AMI immediately at hospitalization (2-12 hours from onset). ② Blood sample was obtained from patients of UAP group and patients of restenosis after angioplasty group immediately after the hospitalization (within 24 hours of onset). ③ Blood sample was obtained from fasting subjects of the normal control group in the morning. Blood sample was centrifuged, separated of the plasma and then frozen at -70 ℃. The level of plasma MCP-1 was determined with ELISA for statistical analysis. RESULTS: A total of 98 enrolled subjects were involved in the analysis of results, and no one withdrew from the study. Comparison in plasma MCP-1 among all groups: The plasma MCP-1 in ACS group, UAP group and restenosis after angioplasty group were (166.7?46.5,149.4?54.9,119.7?25.0,89.2?26.4) ng/L respectively, and it was significantly higher in ACS group, UAP group and restenosis after angioplasty group than that in the normal control group (F =21.27,P

Objective:To establish the quantitative method for eucalyptol in Chimonanthus salicifolius S. Y. Hu by GC. Methods:The GC method was performed on a Zebron ZB-WAX column (60 m × 0. 32 mm,0. 5 μm) with programmed temperature of 60-200℃, an FID detector was used, the detector temperature was 250℃, the inlet temperature was 220℃, and the carrier gas was nitrogen with high purity. Results:A good linearity of eucalyptol was within the range of 0. 012 6-0. 503 4 mg·ml-1(r=0. 999 8), and the average recov-ery was 100. 68%(RSD=1. 51%,n=6). Conclusion:The method is simple, accurate and quick with good reproducibility, and suitable for the quality control of Chimonanthus salicifolius S. Y. Hu.

Aim To investigate the effect of Dicranostiga Leptodu (Maxim) Fedde (DLF) on experimental liver injury induced by Calmette Guerin bacillus vaccine (BCG) and Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in mice. Methods Experimental liver injury was induced by Calmette Guerin bacillus vaccine and Lipopolysaccharide in male mice by injecting via tail vein (50 ?g?kg -1 ), and administering LPS (10 ?g?mouse -1 ) 10 d later. Therapeutic groups were given respectively with DLF (0 5,1 0,2 0 g?kg -1 ) before administration of LPS. The level of ALT, AST and LDH and the concentration of ALB and GLB in serum were measured by automatic biochemistry analyzer, and MDA in liver plasma was measured by TBA method and the level of SOD was measured by pyrogallol auto oxidation method. Pathological morphological changes in liver tissue were observed. Results The three experimental groups were found with significant decrease in the elevation of serum GPT and LDH level and the content of MDA in the liver plasma. The liver tissue damages were also ameliorated. Conclusion DLF has protective effect against the experimental liver injury induced by BCG and LPS in mice.

Objective To evaluate TriVex based transilluminated powered phlebectomy (TIPP)three-stage management for lower limb venous ulcers. Methods This retrospective study included 86 patients with 103 diseased limbs treated in our hospital from October 2005 to July 2013.All received TriVex TIPP three-stage management. Results After therapy there was no acute cellulitis, skin necrosis nor lower limb deep venous thrombosis. There were 2 cases of subcutaneous ecchymosis,1 case of subcutaneous hematoma,1 case of skin abnormal sensation and 1 case of subcutaneous induration.Ulcers healed within one month postoperation in all cases, while skin abnomalities were alleviated with no ulcer recurrence during the follow-up ranging from 4 to 48 months. Conclusions TriVex TIPP centered threestage management is a good option for lower limb venous ulcer, with shortened healing time, low recurrence rate.

Objective To assess the diagnostic performance of CT for detecting anastomotic leak after esophagectomy. Methods A total of 50 patients who underwent both CT and fluoroscopy after esophagectomy in our hospital from September 2013 to December 2015 were enrolled in this study. The fluoroscopy features and CT findings were analyzed retrospectively. Results The sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values were 100%,86.67%,83.33%,100%,respectively,for CT,and 85%,100%,100%,90.91%,respectively,for fluoroscopy. The differences in CT features, including leak of contrast, wall discontinuity and air-fluid collection in the mediastinum were statistically significant between leak and no leak(P=0.000,P=0.000,P=0.005,retrospectively),while no statistically significant in air collection in the mediastinum, hydropneumothorax, pleural effusion and pneumatosis. The maximum diameter of air collection in leak was(1.54±0.97)cm,while the maximum diameter of air collection in no leak was (0.56±0.20)cm,the difference in the maximum diameter of air collection between leak and no leak was statistically significant(P=0.007).Conclusion CT is more sensitive but less specific than fluoroscopy for detecting anastomotic leak.CT can be a better choice for the patients who can not tolerate the fluoroscopy or the fluoroscopy results is negative but anastomotic leak is still suspected.

AIM: To investigate the effects of angiotensinⅡ receptor type Ⅰ antagonist irbesartan and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor perindopril on the myocardial expression of connexin 43 (CX43), desmin and cardiac troponin T (cTnT) in the pressure overload-induced rat cardiac hypertrophy. METHODS: 40 male adult Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 5 groups (8 animals for each): sham operation group and other four groups with ventricular hypertrophy caused by banding aortic artery. Drugs were given one week after operation as follows: sham operation group, normal saline (2 mL?kg~-1?d~-1 ig) was given; Operative groups: animals with ventricular hypertrophy were treated with normal saline 2 mL?kg~-1?d~-1 ig; Treatment groups: animals with ventricular hypertrophy were treated with perindopril 2 mg?kg~-1?d~-1 ig, irbesartan 20 mg?kg~-1?d~-1 ig or irbesartan 20 mg?kg~-1?d~-1 ig plus perindopril 2 mg?kg~-1?d~-1 ig, respectively. Left ventricular mass index (LVMI), transverse diameter of myocardial cell (TDM), and myocardial expression of CX43, desmin and cTnT by immunohistochemistry were performed at the end of 8 weeks of drug intervention. RESULTS: LVMI, TDM were remarkably decreased after drug intervention, compared to animals of operative group (P
