Objective To study the correlation between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1 c) in middle-aged and aged population. Methods A total of 4 127 inservice workers and retirees aged 45 years old or above from one petrochemical enterprise in Ningbo were enrolled in our study. The waistline, body mass index, blood pressure, fasting blood-glucose,blood lipid profile,glutamyltranspeptidase,HbA1c and epigastrium B ultrasound were investigated.According to the quartile of HbA1c level, participants were divided into four groups,namely,Q1 group ≤5.2%,Q2 group > 5.2%-5.4%,Q3 > 5.4%-5.6% and Q4 group > 5.6%.The prevalence of NAFLD and clinical characteristics of each group were analyzed.Logistic regression was used to predict independent risk factors of NAFLD.Results The morbidity of NAFLD was 27.2% with 31.9% in male and 21% in female, which was significantly higher in men.In Q1,Q2,Q3 and Q4 group, the prevalence of NAFLD were 18.5% (178/961),22.8% (185/812),25.6% (280/1 095),38.1% (480/1 259) respectively. With the increase of HbA1 c level, the morbidity of NAFLD increased synchronously. The age, systolic pressure, total cholesterol, low densitylipoprotein cholesterin and fasting blood-glucose were all elevated according to the increase of HbA1 c in 1 123 NAFLD patients.Multi-factor logistic regression analysis indicated that high HbAlc level was the risk factor of NAFLD (OR =1.67,95% CI 1.15-2.43,P =0.007).Conclusion HbA1c is an independent risk factor of NAFLD and both of these are closely related to blood lipid metabolism disorder.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of Rehmannia glutinosa oligosaccharides (ROS) on the proliferation of 3T3-L1 adipocytes and insulin resistance.
METHOD3T3-L1 preadipocytes were cultured, the proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was detected by MTT method. Insulin resistant 3T3-L1 adipocytes cell model was induced by dexamethasone and the change of glucose concentration in cell culture was determined after ROS treatment.
RESULTIn the high glucose DMEM culture media, MTT method showed that the absorbance at 570nm of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes was increased and that of 3T3-L1 adipocytes was decreased. ROS significantly increased glucose consumption in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and adipocytes culture in a concentration-dependent manner. ROS improved the sensitivity of 3T3-L1 adipocytes to insulin.
CONCLUSIONROS can promote the proliferation of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes, inhibite the proliferation of 3T3-L1 adipocytes, and also, significantly improve insulin resistance induced by dexamethasone.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of Rehmannia glutinosa oligosaccharides (ROS) on the proliferation of HepG2 and insulin resistance.
METHODThe HepG2 cells were divided into control group, rosiglitazone (3.4 mg x L(-1)) treated group and ROS (0.1-30 mg x L(-1)) treated group. The proliferation of HepG2 was detected by MTT method. Insulin resistant HepG2 cells model was induced by high concentration of insulin, then the effects of ROS on glucose consumption in insulin resistant HepG2 cells were investigated.
RESULTIn the middle glucose culture medium, the absorbance at 570 nm of HepG2 was increased by high concentration of ROS, and decreased by low concentration of ROS by using MTT method, a concentration-dependent manner. ROS increased glucose consumption in HepG2 cells, and showed a better effect at the dose of 10 mg x L(-1). ROS promoted the glucose consumption in insulin resistance of HepG2 cells, improved the sensitivity of insulin resistance of HepG2 cells to insulin.
CONCLUSIONHigh concentration of ROS can promote the proliferation of HepG2, and however low concentration of ROS inhibits the proliferation of HepG2. ROS can significantly improve insulin resistance of HepG2 cells induced by high insulin.

Objective To induce human-induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs)to differentiate into spinal motor neuron precursor (MNP)and compare the induction efficiency in systems of feeder and feeder-free. Methods iPSCs cultured on mouse feeder cells or in feeder-free condition were induced into neuroepithelial progenitors (NEP) on the sixth day and MNP on the twelveth day.Their morphology was observed under inverted micro-scope,and the markers of iPSCs,NEP,MNP were detected with immunofluorescence.NEP-related genes SOX1 and HOXA3,MNP-related genes OLIG2 and PAX6,and pluripotency genes SOX2 and OCT4 were detected with real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results iPSCs expressed pluripotency markers, while NEP and MNP expressed high levels of neural related markers and low levels of pluripotency markers in two systems. The expression of the genes SOX1, HOXA3, OLIG2 and OCT4 was higher in the feeder system, and there was no significant difference in the expression of genes SOX2 and PA X 6. Conclusion iPSCs can differentiate into MNP in culture systems of feeder and feeder-free,and the induction efficiency is higher in the feeder system.

ABSTRACT:Objective To explore the correlation between the psychological resilience and quality of life in breast cancer patients with chemotherapy. Methods From January 2012 through December 2013,80 breast cancer patients with adjuvant hormonal therapy were selected as object. The psychological resilience was assessed by Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale and the quality of life was assessed by Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Breast (FACT-B)at 1 month and 6 months after chemotherapy. The correlation between the psychological resilience and quality of life was assessed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results The total scores of psychological re-silience in breast cancer chemotherapy patients at 1 month and 6 months after chemotherapy were (45.72±8.44)and (49.35±8.27),which were significantly lower than (65.4±13.9)of the do-mestic norm (P <0.05).The scores of tenacity, self reliance and optimism in breast cancer chemotherapy patients were also lower than those of the domestic norm (P <0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the psychological resilience had positive correlations with physical dimension, social /family dimension, emotional dimension and functional dimension (P <0.05). Conclusion Psychological resilience in breast cancer chemotherapy patients is low,and it shows a positive correlation with quality of life. The strength of the resilience in breast cancer chemothera-py patients can help promote their quality of life.

OBJECTIVETo study the influence of clinical and pathological-morphological parameters on the prognosis of colorectal carcinoma.
METHODSUnivariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazard model were used to study the influence of clinical and pathological-morphological factors on the prognosis in 226 colorectal carcinoma cases.
RESULTSUsing univariate analysis, data showed that the factors significantly related to disease prognosis would include: the depth of direct spread, vessel invasion, perineural invasion, tumor budding, peritumoral-lymphocytic infiltration, Crohn-like reaction, number of positive lymph nodes, distant metastasis, TNM stage and urine glucose. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard model showed that six factors were identified to be associated with higher relative-risk (RR), including: older age, advanced TNM stage, more severe budding, perineural invasion, less peritumoral-lymphocytic infiltration and urine glucose.
CONCLUSIONAge, TNM stage, tumor budding, perineural invasive, peritumoral-lymphocytic infiltration and urine glucose were independent predictors to the prognosis of colorectal carcinoma.
