Objective: To assess whether selective head cooling (SHC)could ameliorate the post-ischemie reperfusion injury. Method: Complete cerebral ischemia (CCI)was induced with the four vessel model for 30 min. 196 New Zealand rebbits were randomly allocated into three groups:group Ⅰ served as nonischemie control; animals in three subgroups of other groups had reperfused lasting 30,180 and 360 min respectively following CCI. Group Ⅱ served as normothermic reperfusion; group Ⅲ treated with selective head cooling(28℃,). Twenty-one endogenous parameters in brain were determined, and histomorphological assessment of neuronal chanes was observed. Neurons were classified respectively into type A(normal)and B(mild damage)etc. Result: As compared with group Ⅰ, the percentage of type A neurons was progressively decreased, while that of type B neurons increased sigmficantly in group Ⅰ (P

Esophageal cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide.A single intraoperative intervention is unlikely to benefit the outcome.A multimodal management plan that includes the use of TEA seems to demonstrate improved results in high-volume centers.Anesthetic management may contribute to the containment of pulmonary morbidity and anastomotic leakage by the use of TEA,protective ventilation strategies during OLV,prevention of tracheal aspiration, and judicious fluid management.

Objective To explore the effects of microwave irradiation on the proliferation of keloid-derived fibroblasts so as to analyze the expression of collagen-1 and the activation of the signaling pathway involved. Methods Cells from a human keloid scar were cultured in vitro and randomly divided into a control group withont any intervention,a 10 mW/cm2 microwave irradiation (10-MI) group and a 20 mW/cm2 microwave irradiation (20-MI) group.Aliquots of the latter 2 groups were irradiated at their corresponding intensities for 5 min,15 min and 30 min.The growth of fibroblasts was evaluated using MTT assay. The expression of collagen-1 and changes in the phosphorylation of protein JNK were detected using western blotting. Results Compared with the control group,no significant differences in the average growth of the keloid-derived fibroblasts were observed in the 10-MI group, but significant differences were observed in the 20-MI group and among the three sub-groups irradiated for different durations. The expression of type 1 collagen was significantly down-regulated after irradiation in a time-dependent manner. After microwave radiation at 20 mW/cm2,JNK was significantly activated compared to the control group at the different time points. Conclusions Microwave irradiation at 20 mW/cm2 can significantly inhibit the proliferation of keloid-derived fibroblasts and the down-regulalion is correlated with the irradiation's duration. It can also significantly inhibit collagen-1 expression and relieve scar formation through activating the JNK signal pathway.

Objective To explore the bronchoscopic features of endobronchial tuberculosis induced by lymphatic fistula and the efficacy of interventional treatment. Methods The data on 31 patients with endobronchial tuberculosis induced by lymphatic fistula who had received bronchoscopic diagnosis and treatment in our hospital during the period of January 2010 to June 2013 were reviewed. The bronchoscopic features , along with the frequency of interventional therapies and duration of the therapies , were retrospectively analyzed; and the efficacy of the therapies and the related complications were assessed. Rusults The endoscopic appearance showed: granuloma (19.4%), necrosis (51.6%), granuloma with necrosis (25.8%), and fistulous opening (3.2%). Dark gray matter or carbon deposition inside the lesions was the characteristics of endobronchial tuberculosis induced by lymphatic fistula. There were 76 orificium fistulae in 31 patients , mostly in the right side. The median frequency of treatment was five in patients with single orificium fistulae and the median treatment duration was 65 days; whereas the median frequency of treatment was nine in patients with multiple fistulae and the median treatment duration was 108 days. There were significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.05 for both comparisons). The effectiveness rate of treatment was 98.7%. The therapy-related complication was of a small amount of bleeding, with a rate of 2.1%. Conlusions Endobronchial tuberculosis induced by lymphatic fistula shows certain characteristics under bronchoscopic examination. Bronchoscopic clamping combined with infusions with antituberculosis agents is a safe, simple, effective therapeutic method.
