Kidney is a highly vascularized organ and peritubular capillary network constitutes the critical component of its microvascular system. Peritubular capillaries, as the main vessels for blood supply in renal tubules and renal interstitium, involve in important physiological processes in renal tubules such as energy metabolism, substance secretion and reabsorption. In recent years, it has been demonstrated that ischemia-reperfusion injury, rejection and renal fibrosis during kidney transplantation would result in compromised structural integrity and decreased number in peritubular capillaries, thus leading to interstitial fibrosis in renal allograft, which would seriously affect the long-term stability of renal function in the renal allograft. Therefore, we reviewed the structure and function of peritubular capillary, peritubular capillary and ischemia-reperfusion injury, rejection and renal allograft fibrosis, focusing on the mechanism for peritubular capillary injury in kidney transplantation and the specific changes manifested, with the aim of providing a reference for preventing and treating perioperative complications in kidney transplantation and improving the long-term prognosis of grafts.

OBJECTIVETo investigate CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cell frequencies in the peripheral blood of poor or non-responsiveness to Hepatitis B vaccine, and try to understand the relationship between CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cell and poor or non-responsiveness to Hepatitis B vaccine.
METHODSFlow cytometric analysis was employed for CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cell frequencies in the peripheral blood of 25 cases of non-responsiveness, 30 cases of poor-responsiveness, and collected 20 cases of responsiveness as control.
RESULTSCD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cell frequencies of responsiveness was (4.32 +/- 1.21)%, poor-responsiveness was (7.01 +/- 1.06)% and non-responsiveness was (12.75 +/- 2.01)%. It was found that non and poor-responsiveness showed a high percentage of CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cell as compared with responsiveness (t = 8.426, t = 3.289, P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONThe poor and non-responsiveness should be related with the increase of CD4+ CD25+ regulatory T cell and this might be considered as an important cause of poor and non-responsiveness.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the association between two polymorphisms of the APOC3 gene (T-455C and C-482T) and hereditary risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
METHODSA total of 287 patients with NAFLD and 310 control subjects were genotyped by PCR and direct sequencing. Serum lipid profiles were also detected by standard biochemical
METHODSOne-hundred-and-eighty of the study participants were used to measure the APOC3 content by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Inter-group differences and associations were assessed statistically using Chi square and t tests and logistic and linear regression analyses.
RESULTSThe frequencies of neither the genotypes or alleles were significantly different between the NAFLD cases and the controls. Compared with the most common genotypes-455TT or-482CC, none of the variants showed a significant increase in risk of NAFLD or for the clinical and biochemical parameters. The adjusted odds ratios (with 95% confidence intervals) of NAFLD were 1.25 (0.79-1.96) and 1.20 (0.76-1.89) for carriers of the APOC3-455C and-482 T variants respectively (P more than 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe T-455C and C-482T polymorphisms of the APOC3 gene are not associated with risk of NAFLD, pathogenic changes in lipid profiles, or insulin resistance in Han Chinese.

Objective To evaluate the physiological and anatomic basis, indications, surgical skills, prevention of ureter injury and clinic outcomes of using high uterosacral ligament suspension(HUS)for correction of advanced uterine prolapse by the vaginal route. Methods Fifty women with advanced uterine prolapse underwent transvaginal HUS after vaginal hysterectomy with reconstruction of pubocervical and rectovaginal fascia to correct their uterine prolapse between June 2003 and September 2007.The average age of the women was 60.1 years. The mean follow-up period was 24 months(range 4-51 months). The degree of pelvic organ prolapse preoperatively and anatomic outcomes postoperatively were assessed with pelvic organ prolapse quantification system(POP-Q).Results The remnants of the uterosacral ligaments were clearly identified and palpated posterior and medial to the ischial spines by traction with a 24 cm long Allis clamp and used for successful vaginal vault suspension and reconstruction in all 50 consecutive advanced uterine prolapse patients. The ureter injury was avoided by complete knowledge of the ureter's course from the cervix/apex toward its insertion in the sacral region and how far outside of the uterosacral ligament,by uteri palpation and by suturing purposefully placed"deep"dorsally and posteriorly toward the sacrum,as well as by cystoscopy examination of the spillage of urine from both ureters.Mean POP-Q point C improved from 1.5 to-7.5 cm with a median follow-up of 24 months. If the successful HUS was defined as point C≤stage I prolapse, both the objective and subjective cure rates were as high as 100% with a maximum follow-up of 51 months.None of the 50 patients had repeat operation for recurrence of prolapse. There was no major intra-or postoperative complications, such as ureter and other pelvic organ injury. Conclusion HUS with fascial reconstruction seems to be a safe, minimal traumatic, tolerable and highly successful procedure for vaginal repair of advanced uterine prolapse.Because of the use of native tissue as suspension site HUS is more physiologic and cost effective.

Objective:To investigate the effect of Demodex palpebralis infestation and meibomian gland dysfunction(MGD) on the incidence of recurrent corneal erosion syndrome (RCES).Methods:A case-control study was performed.Thirty eyes of 30 RCES patients were enrolled from January to June 2018 in Hanyang Hospital of Wuhan Aier Eye Hospital, and served as the RCES group.Thirty-one eyes of 31 simple ametropia patients with matched age and gender were enrolled at the same time and served as the control group.Eyelash microscopic examination was performed for Demodex counting, slit-lamp examination was performed to observe the condition of meibomian gland.Keratograph 5M examination was performed to detect the morphological changes in the meibomian glands. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Wuhan Aier Eye Hospital. All subjects were aware of the method and purpose of this study. Results:The average meibomian glands score was 4(3, 4) in the RCES group, which was significantly higher than 2(1, 3) in the control group (Z=-4.55, P=0.00). The average meibomian gland secretion score was 15.5(11.0, 16.8) in the RCES group, which was significantly higher than 8.0(5.5, 10.0) in the control group (Z=-3.97, P=0.00). The average Demodex numbers was 8(4, 9) and 0(0, 2) in the RCES and control groups, respectively, with a significant difference between them (Z=-4.13, P<0.00). The average Demodex infection rate was 83.3% (25/30) and 38.7% (12/31) in the RCES and the control groups, respectively (χ 2=7.60, P<0.01). The recurrence frequency showed a positive correlation with the meibomian glands scores (r s=0.70, P<0.01), meibomian gland secretion scores (r s=0.47, P=0.04) and Demodex numbers (r s=0.73, P<0.01). Conclusions:The infection rate of Demodex palpebralis and the degree of MGD are obviously elevated in RCES patients, and are associated with the relapse frequency of RCES.

PURPOSE: This study was aimed to investigate the effect of pseudolaric acid B (PAB) on proliferation, invasion and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in pancreatic cancer cells and to explore the possible mechanism. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The pancreatic cancer cell line SW1990 was cultured and treated with PAB dose- and time-dependent manners. Cell proliferation and invasion ability were measured by MTT assay and Matrigel/Transwell test, respectively. Semi-quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting were conducted to detect the expression of EMT markers and the key molecules. Finally, nude mice subcutaneous transplantation tumor model was used to confirm the therapy efficacy of PAB. RESULTS: PAB could inhibit SW1990 cell proliferation and invasion in time- and dose-dependent manners. Vimentin, fibronectin, N-cadherin, Snail, Slug, YAP, TEAD1, and Survivin were down-regulated (p < 0.01), while E-cadherin, caspase-9, MST1, and pYAP were up-regulated (p < 0.05). Combined PAB and gemcitabine treatment markedly restricted the tumor growth compared with gencitabin or PAB alone groups. CONCLUSION: PAB could inhibit the proliferation and invasion ability of pancreatic cancer cells through activating Hippo-YAP pathway and inhibiting the process of EMT.
