1.Research advancement in lymphangiogenesis in renal cell carcinoma
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2013;(22):1412-1414
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a common urologic malignancy, comprising 2% to 3% of all malignant diseases. Lym-phangiogenesis significantly affects the lymphatic metastasis of tumors. Vascular endothelial growth factors and their receptors have important functions in the spread of cancer cells. Vascular endothelial growth factor-C, which links the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-3, can increase lymphangiogenesis and promote lymphatic metastasis. These findings direct research efforts toward lymphangiogenesis in malignant diseases and a possible targeted therapy. An increasing number of studies on the lymphatic vessel of renal cell carcinoma have drawn considerable interest in the treatment of renal cell carcinoma. This paper summarizes recent studies on lymphangiogenesis and the clinical significance of renal cell carcinoma.
2.Application of continuous measurements of systolic blood pressure and heart rate during exercise.
Japanese Journal of Physical Fitness and Sports Medicine 1982;31(1):19-27
Human systolic blood pressure and heart rate were measured continuously. This was accomplished by an indirect noninvasive method employed while the subject was involved in exercise. The characteristics of the measurements, and the factors which produced those characteristics were investigated. Then, an index L composed of all of the significant factors was sat up in order to compute L-Scores. L-Score was later statistically considered as a significant indicator of evaluation of a subject's training level.
On the other hand, BP-HR Scores of each subject were obtained from BP-HR Scoring Chart. The Scoring Chart was drawn in order to serve as a scoring table for estimating subjects' training levels according to a formula which represented the characteristics of increments above resting blood pressure and heart rate. Highly significant correlation between L-Scores and BP-HR Scores, 0.94 at P<0.01, was observed.
The study concluded that synthetic investigations of multi factors such as computing L-Scores were more efficient than a singular investigation of individual factors in order to examine a human cardiovascular function from measurements of blood pressure and heart rate during exercise. For simplification of the measurements and computations, application of BP-HR Scores was considered as an effective method.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;30(1):61-64
Objective: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of transcatheter closure of secundum atrial septal defects (ASD) in patients aged over 40 years old. Methods: A total of 115 patients with secundum ASD, aged 40 or over, who were treated by transcatheter closure in our hospital from Oct. 1998 to Jul. 2005 were enrolled in this study, including 106 with single ASD, eight with multiple ASD and one with complicated patent foramen ovale. All the 115 patients received ASD closure with the AGA Amplatzer device or ASD occluder made in China. The patients received electrocardiogram (ECG), X-ray and transthoracic echocardiography (TEE) before and three days after operation. Follow-up were done 6 months and 3 years after operation. Results: The transcatheter procedure was successfully done in 114 (99.13%) of the 115 patients. The one failed case was transferred to the thoracic surgery department for ASD repair. The complication rate was (3.5%). Classification of heart function (NYHA) improved from 2.11±0.78 to 1.34±0.56 after operation (P<0.001). ECG showed that the right bundle branch block (RBBB) disappeared or improved (complete RBBB to incomplete RBBB). X-ray showed a decrease of cordis/ thorax ratio (CTR). TTE displayed that the right venticle (RV) volume was significantly decreased (P<0.001) and ejection fraction was significantly increased (P<0.001). There were three cases of transseptal residual leakage. Conclusion: Transcatheter Closure of secundum ASD in patients aged over 40 is safe and effective when indications are strictly followed.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2015;38(4):277-280
Objective The generation of drug resistance often leads to the failure of the bladder cancer chemotherapy.P-glycoprotein (P-gp) is an ATP-dependent drug efflux pump linked to development of multidrug resistance in cancer cells. The laboratory has successfully established adriamycin-resistant human bladder cancer cell line (pumc-91/ADM) from its parental cell line (pumc-91).According to the drug resistant spectrum analysis,pumc-91/ADM cell line exhibited the characteristics of multi-drug resistance. However, the expression of P-gp in two cell lines was still unknown. In this paper, there was a comparison between pumc-91/ADM and pumc-91 about the differential expression of P-gp.Methods To determine the expression and location of P-gp in pumc-91 and pumc-91/ADM,qRT-PCR,Western blot and immunocytochemistry were applied in the experiment.qRT-PCR was implemented to research the expression of P-gp mRNA in two cell lines (pumc-91/ADM and pumc-91).Western blot was adopted to investigate the expression of P-gp protein in pumc-91 and pumc-91/ADM cell lines.Immunocytochemistry technique was used to explore the cellular location of P-gp and affirm its expression in two cell lines visually.Student's t-test was employed for statistical analysis and P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results qRT-PCR analysis revealed that the expression of P-gp mRNA was upregulated in drug-resistant cell line pumc-91/ADM compared to parental cell line pumc-91.To normalize for differences in the amount of total RNA,GAPDH was selected as an endogenous RNA control.Compared with pumc-91,the expression of P-gp mRNA was upregulated 7.74 fold in pumc-91/ADM (t =11.97,P < 0.05).Consistent with the qRT-PCR result,Western blot confirmed the protein of P-gp expressed differentially in two cell lines. The expression of P-gp protein was significantly increased in pumc-91/ADM compared to pumc-91.According to the results, the differences between pumc-91 and pumc-91/ADM had statistical significance (t =4.35,P<0.05).Immunocytochemical analysis results demonstrated that P-gp was not only located in cell membrane but also in cytoplasm of the two cell lines. The expression of P-gp in pumc-91/ADM increased distinctly. The difference was statistically significant (t =11.41,P < 0.05).Conclusion Compared with pumc-91,the expression of P-gp in pumc-91/ADM was significantly upregulated.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(11):-
Biliary atresia(BA) is a common reason for obstructive jaundice in children.Pathogenesis of BA is unclear, and the prognosis is poor.Over the last 2 years, gene mutation, viral infection and autoimmune are considered to be the most possible reason for BA;Stool co-lor card has shown favourable perspective in early screening;Kasai is also the first choice for treatment of BA,which progressed in laparoscopic operation and robot surgery.Corticosteroids after surgery is still disputing. Now,liver transplantation is the only way for BA and cirrhosis. This article gave a review on the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of BA.
6.Relationship between serum leptin and thyroid hormone in children with abnormal thyroid function
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2004;0(08):-
Objective To study the relationship between serum leptin and thyroid function by investigating the change of serum leptin concentration in children with abnormal thyroid function (hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism). Methods The levels of serum leptin was determined by radio-immunoassay(RIA) in 20 cases of hyperthyroidism, 17 cases of hypothyroidism, 25 cases of normal controls, respectively .Meanwhile, the serum levels of free triiodothyronine(FT 3), free thyroxine(FT 4) and thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH) were measured by micro-particle-chemiluminescence immunoassay. Results The levels of serum leptin in hypothyroidism group before treatment was significantly lower than that of normal control groups (P0.05).Conclusions The levels of serum leptin in hypothyroidism markedly descend and no change in the hyperthyroidism. Thyroid hormone can promote the secretion of serum leptin eligibly.

Objective To study the risk factors related to early neurological deterioration (END) in patients with recurrent cerebral infarction (RCI). Methods Three hundreds and twenty-six RCI patients admitted to our hospital from January 2014 to March 2015 were divided into END group (n = 66) and non-END group (n =260). The clinical and laboratory data were collected, and their cerebrovascular lesions were accessed according to the angiographic findings. Results (1) Single factor analysis showed the level of cholesterol was significantly higher in the END group than that of the non-END group (P < 0.05). The proportion of patients suffering from smoking, arterial occlusions, early onset stroke associated pneumonia (SAP) and hyponatremia was also higher in the END group (all P < 0.05). (2) Logistic regression analysis showed that arterial occlusions (OR = 2.137, 95%CI 1.093~4.181), SAP (OR=2.001, 95%CI 1.023~3.912) and hyponetremia (OR=2.467, 95%CI 1.217~ 5.000) were independent risk factors for END of RCI patients (all P < 0.05). Conclusion Arterial occlusions, SAP and hyponatremia may be used as predictors of the early development of RCI patients.
