Objective To explore the efficacy of gastrofiberscope-assisted balloon catheter dilatation of esophageal stricture. Methods A total of 30 children with esophageal stricture underwent gastrofiberscope-assisted balloon dilatation between October 1996 and November 2005 in this hospital. The procedure was conducted using the type JIF-SP gastrofiberscope(Olympus Company,Japan) and a balloon catheter with pressure monitor(Boston Company,USA).The stricture was 0.2~0.6 cm in diameter and 0.6~2.5 cm in length(mean,1.7 cm).Under the direct vision of gastrofiberscopy, the balloon catheter was perorally inserted to the stricture. Then the balloon was insufflated with air while monitoring the pressure. The balloon dilatation lasted for 5 min. Results A total of 113 times of balloon dilation were performed in 29 children, while a conversion to traditional surgery was required in 1 child with serious esophageal stricture due to difficulty to dilatation. In the 29 children, the dilatation was conducted for 2~3 times every month until the strictured esophagus reached 0.6~0.7 cm in diameter after 4~5 times of balloon dilatation.Follow-up surveys for 3 months ~ 5 years in the 29 children showed no dysphagia or recurrence of stricture. Conclusions Gastrofiberscope-assisted balloon catheter dilatation of esophageal stricture is a feasible and safe technique.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2005;0(08):-
Objective To compare curative effects between laparoscopic and open surgery in the treatment of pediatric indirect inguinal hernia. Methods A group of 410 children with indirect inguinal hernia underwent micro-laparoscopic operation(Laparoscopic Group) from April 2001 to January 2006.This group was compared with another group of 408 children with indirect inguinal hernia, treated with open high ligation of the hernial sac(Open Group) from September 2004 to January 2006.In the Laparoscopic Group,a 5-mm trocar was inserted at the umbilicus for the exploration of bilateral internal rings.Another 5-mm trocar was inserted at the site slightly superior to the McBurney's point for introducing a needle holder. At the level of the neck of the hernial sac,the orifice of the vaginal process was circumferentially sutured and ligated. In the Open Group, high ligation of the hernial sac was conducted through a transversal incision at the external ring. Results The operations in the Laparoscopic Group were smoothly completed. The operative time for one side of hernia was significantly shorter in the Laparoscopic Group(33.4?9.6 min) than in the Open Group(38.0?7.6 min)(t=-7.596,P=0.000).In the Laparoscopic Group,no edema of the scrotum, subcutaneous hydrops,or infection occurred. The patients were followed for 1~55 months(mean,23.2 months).Short-term recurrence was observed in 3 children, who required a re-operation of laparoscopic repair. No testicular atrophy, iatrogenic retained testis, intestinal adhesion,or other long-term complications happened. In the Open Group,follow-up observations for 1~18 months(mean,10 months) revealed recurrence in 18 children,8 of whom were then cured with laparoscopic surgery and 10 of whom with open surgery.Iatrogenic retained testis happened in 9 children and a re-operation of open surgery was carried out. Conclusions Two-port laparoscopic high ligation of hernial sac for pediatric indirect inguinal hernia is minimally invasive, safe, and effective, but not suitable for children with cardiac insufficiency or newborn incarcerated hernia.
5.CT analysis of classification of external nasal fracture and the influence of fractured position to nasal septum.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(8):527-530
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the classification and distribution of external nasal fracture, and its influence to the nasal septum.
METHOD:
We randomly chose 60 patients who received nasal CT scan because of nasal trauma and diagnosed as external nasal fracture. We reviewed their CT data in PACS system with computer.
RESULT:
Of the 60 cases of nasal trauma, 90 sides got external nasal fracture, among which 58 sides (64.4%) had only nasal bone fracture, 16 sides (17.8%) had only maxillary frontal process fracture, and 16 sides (17.8%) had both. Half of these 60 patients got unilateral external nasal fracture, among whom 14 patients (46.7%) had traumatic nasal septum deviation meanwhile. The other 30 patients suffered from bilateral external nasal fracture, among whom 26 patients (86.7%) had traumatic nasal septum deviation. The difference between these two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.01). Moreover, 24 patients got fracture of either nasal bone or maxillary frontal process, 11 of whom (45.8%) got traumatic nasal septum deviation at the same time. The other 36 patients suffered fracture of both these two bones, 29 of whom (80.6%) had traumatic nasal septum deviation. The difference between these two groups was statistically significant (P < 0.01). We classified the nasal bone fracture as below: 16 patients with only unilateral external nasal fracture belonged to Type I, of whom 15 patients (25.0%) were type Ia with nasal bone or maxillary frontal process fracture and 1 patient (1.7%) fell into type Ib with fracture occurred on both of these two bones at the same side. Four patients suffered bilateral external nasal fracture belonged to type II, among whom 2 patients (3.3%) belonged to type IIa with nasal bone or maxillary frontal process fracture and 2 patients fell into type IIb with fracture of both of these two bones at different sides. The other 40 patients (66.7%) belonged to Tpye III, who suffered external nasal fracture accompanied with traumatic nasal septum deviation.
CONCLUSION
Traumatic nasal septum deviation was extremely concomitant in patients with external nasal fracture. It will be better to perform external nasal reconstructive surgery and plasty of nasal septum deviation by using the endoscope within 1 month for the patients whose symptom were serious or who cared a lot about the appearance.

International Eye Science 2014;(6):1009-1012
AIM: To explore the feasibility of culturing human umbilical vein endothelial cells ( HUVEC ) on acellular corneal stroma and performing the posterior lamellar endothelial keratoplasty ( PLEK ) treating corneal endothelial decompensation.
METHODS: Thirty New-Zealand rabbits were divided into three groups randomly, 10 rabbits for experimental group, 10 for stroma group and 10 for control group. Corneal endothelial cells were removed to establish animal model of corneal endothelial failure. PLEK was performed on the rabbits of experimental group and stroma group, and nothing was transplantated onto the rabbits of control group with the deep layer excised only. Postoperative observation was taken for 3mo. The degree of corneal edema and central corneal thickness were recorded for statistical analysis.
RESULTS:Corneas in experimental group were relieved in edema obviously compared with that in stroma group and the control group, and showed increased transparency 7d after the operation. The average density of endothelial cells was 2 026. 4±129. 3cells/mm2 , and average central corneal thickness was 505. 2±25. 4μm in experimental group, while 1 535. 6±114. 5μm in stroma group and 1 493. 5±70. 2μm in control group 3mo after operation.
CONCLUSION:We achieved preliminary success in our study that culturing HUVEC on acellular corneal stroma and performing PLEK for corneal endothelial decompensation. HUVEC transplanted could survive in vivo, and have normal biological function of keeping cornea transparent. This study provides a new idea and a new way clinically for the treatment of corneal endothelial diseases.

Clinical Medicine of China 2016;32(2):135-138
Objective To research the risk factors of new-onset atrial fibrillation (AF) during hospitalization in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods Five hundred and one patients first diagnosed with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction who accepted primary coronary intervention from January 2012 to May 2014 in the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University were selected. These patients were divided into non-AF group and new-onset AF group depending on whether happened new-onset AF during hospitalization.Data of the patients in acute myocardial infarction complicated with new-onset atrial fibrillation were collected.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to determine the predictors of new-onset AF.Results AF occurred in 49 cases of the 501 (9.8%) patients diagnosed as acute myocardial infarction.Logistic regression analysis showed that admission heart rate(OR =1.019,95%CI:1.004-1.034,P =0.012),left atrial diameter (OR =1.086,95% CI:1.021-1.156,P =0.009),previous stroke (OR =2.060,95% CI:1.029-4.123,P =0.041) were independent risk factors for new-onset AF in acute myocardial infarction.Use of β-blockers before coronary intervention treatment can reduce the risk of new-onset atrial fibrillation(OR=0.222,95%CI:0.064-0.768,P=0.017).Conclusion Admission heart rate and left atrial diameter are independent predictors of new-onset atrial fibrillation, and β-blockers in early stage can effectively reduce the incidence of atrial fibrillation.

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry 2017;45(9):1360-1366
A novel molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor for direct detection of insulin was prepared based on epitope imprinting.C-Terminal polypeptide in insulin as template molecule was firstly self-assembled on the Au electrode. Then the molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was fabricated by electropolymerization with o-phenylenediamine (o-PD) as functional monomer on this Au electrode. After elution of template molecules by NaOH solution, the imprinting cavities were formed with the three-dimensional structure matched with the polypeptide in insulin molecules. The imprinting cavities could specifically recognize and rebind with insulin molecules. With K3[Fe(CN)6]/K4[Fe(CN)6] as a probe, the insulin was indirectly detected. There was a linear relationship between the response current and the insulin concentrations in the range of 1.0 × 10-14-5.0 × 10-13 mol/L, and the detection limit was 7.24×10-15 mol/L.The developed sensor exhibited good selectivity and stability, and could be applied to the determination of serum samples.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(50):8660-8665
BACKGROUND:Stress shielding in the Achil es tendons induces over-expression of tumor necrosis factor-α. The degree of tendon contracture remains unclear after the intervention with tumor necrosis factor inhibitor.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of tumor necrosis factor-αon tendon contracture and the preventive effects of tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (etanercept) on tendon contracture by observing the morphological changes of the stress-shielded Achil es tendons after the intervention with etanercept.
METHODS:A total of 20 healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into experimental and model groups after stress shielding in Achil es tendons of rat left hind limb. Five rats from either group were randomly selected, and their right hind limbs were considered as normal controls. Immediately after model induction, the rats in the experimental group were subjected with 0.6 mg/kg etanercept, and those in the model group were subcutaneously treated with 1 mL phosphate buffered saline. According to half-life of etanercept, the two groups were separately injected three times. At 2 weeks after intervention, the morphological changes of the Achil es tendons were observed using gross examination and transmission electron microscope.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:On gross examination, the Achil es tendons in the experimental group were significantly smoother and smal er than those of the model groups, but thicker than those of the normal control group. Under a transmission electron microscope, the col agen fibrils of the model group were looser and more disordered than those of the experimental group. The col agen fibrils of the experimental group were similar to those of the normal control group in cross section and longitudinal section. These indicated that tumor necrosis factor-αantagonist can obviously prevent stress shielding-induced tendon contracture at 2 weeks.
