1.Association between epicardial adipose tissue thickness and left ventricular remodeling in dilated cardiomyopathy

Objective To explore the association between epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) thickness and left ventricular remodeling,left ventricular dysfunction in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).Methods One hundred and sixteen patients with DCM (DCM group) and 76 healthy subjects (control group) were examined by ultrasoundcardiogram.Left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic volume (LVESV),left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV),left ventricular end-systolic volume index (LVESVI),left ventficular end-diastolic volume index (LVEDVI),left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and EAT thickness were measured or calculated,and the relationship was evaluated.Results EAT thickness in DCM group was significantly lower than that in control group [(4.7 ± 1.2) mm vs.(7.6 ± 2.1) mm],and there was statistical difference (P < 0.05).The linear correlation analysis results showed there was positive correlation between EAT thickness and LVESD,LVEDD,LVESV,LVEDV,LVEDVI,LVESVI (r =0.236,0.220,0.245,0.256,0.282,0.279,P < 0.05),and there was no relationship between EAT thickness and LVEF (r =0.134,P >0.05).Conclusions In patients with DCM,there is a correlation between EAT thickness and ventricular remodeling.There is no correlation between EAT thickness and left ventricular dysfunction.

Objective To study the protective effect of Qidan Tongmai Tablet (QDTMT) on the (injury) induced by acute myocardial ischemia. Methods Acute myocardial ischemia was induced by sc isoproterenol (Iso, 5 mg/kg) into SD rats pretreated with ig QDTMT (2 g/kg) for two weeks. Activities of Ca~(2+)-(ATPase) in myocardial mitochondria and content of Ca~(2+) in myocardium and myocardial mitochondria were determined by colorimetric method. 3.Culture,purification and differentiation in vitro of human retinal progenitors

Objective To study the expansion and purification of human retinal progenitors cultured in vitro.(Methods Human) embryonic retinal progenitor cells(RPCs) were cultured.The characteristics of neural stem cell were observed.The expression of Nestin was examined flow cytometry(FCM) for the comparsion between the primary and secondary passages.The differentiation of RPCs had been observed after that they had been cultured in different conditions.Results Human RPCs had proliferated and formed cell clusters with a shape of neurosphere.After digestion,the scattered progenitors formed secondary neurosphere-like cell clusters.The cells in those clusters expressed Nestin and were negative for the mature retinal cell proteins.After spontaneous differentiation,the retinal progenitors expressed special proteins of mature retinal cells,including neuron specific enolase(NSE),glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP),protein kinase C(PKC) and Syntaxin-1.The expression of Nestin in the secondary culture passage was(39.3?18.9)%,which was significantly higher than that of the primary passage [(28.7?17.7)%](P

5.Research progress of the protection strategies of female fertility in radiotherapy

Radiotherapy is an important treatment for malignant tumors, but it will have a negative impact on the reproductive function of young female patients.In recent years, the measures to protect female fertility are increasing, including clinical mature technologies such as embryo cryopreservation and mature oocyte cryopreservation; highly experimental technologies such as immature oocyte in vitro fertilization and ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation.In addition, the application of stem cells and the proposal of artificial ovary also show great prospects in the protection of female fertility.This paper reviews the research progress of female fertility protection strategies in radiotherapy.
6.Preliminary study on the pharmacognosy and toxicology of Mallotus panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg

Objective To identify Mallotus panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg and explore the acute toxicity.Methods Pharmacognostic identification and chemical reaction methods were adopted to the identification.The maximum concentration and maximum volume of ethanol extracts of M.panicutus (lam) Muell.Arg were given via intragastric administration in mice to observe the toxic and side effects after 14 days.Results The chemical reaction showed M.panicutus(lam) Muell.Arg concluded the constituents such as flavone and saponin and there was no acute toxicity in mice.After 14 days,the growth rate of mice weight of blank group and drug group were 73.5% and 62.9% (P > 0.05).Conclusion The results could be taken as the reference for analyzing the quality of this drug and guiding the clinical medication.

RNA interference which focuses on siRNA becomes a studying focus in malignant tumor of gene therapy due to its high efficiency and effect, the sequence of specific characteristics and action fast. In recent years many research shows that constructing and transfecting malignancy related gene targeting specific siRNA, can effectively suppress tumor growth and invasion. Combination with other conventional treatments can improve the curative effect. It's a promising new method of gene therapy in head and neck neoplasms.

10.Quantitative tissue velocity imaging on left ventricular diastole asynchrony in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Objective To evaluate the diastole asynchrony of the different segments of left ventricle(LV) and its relation with LV diastole function in the patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) by quantitative tissue velocity imaging(QTVI).Methods Forteen normal controls,15 patients with non-obstructive HCM (HCM) and 12 patients with obstructive HCM (HOCM) were studied by QTVI.The regional velocity profiles of 18 segments of LV and mitral annulus of six walls along LV apical long axis view,apical two chamber view and four chamber view were obtained.The time (T_ Q-E ) from onset of QRS complexes to peak velocity during early diastole were measured.The maximal difference in T_ Q-E with in the same wall (Intra-?T_ Q-E ),the same segment (Inter-?T_ Q-E ),all 18 segments (Max-?T_ Q-E ) of LV and the mean ratio of mitral annulus early and late diastole peak velocity of six walls were calculated(Ea/Aa′).Interventricular septum basic thickness(IVSTh) and LV outflow tract gradient(LVOTPG) were measured.Results Inter-?T_ Q-E ,Intra-?T_ Q-E ,Max-?T_ Q-E were significantly prolonged and Ea/Aa′ was reduced in HCM and HOCM groups compared with control group.There was no statistically significant difference of Inter-?T_ Q-E ,Intra-?T_ Q-E ,Max-?T_ Q-E ,Ea/Aa′ between HCM and HOCM groups.In control group,HCM group,HOCM group,IVSTh and LVOTPG were increased little by little.Max-?T_ Q-E were correlated negatively with Ea/Aa′ in patients with HCM and HOCM.IVSTh and LVOTPG were mildly correlated with Ea/Aa′ in HOCM group,but not correlated with Ea/Aa′ in HCM.Conclusions Asynchrony diastole is a neccessary factor causing impairment of LV diastole function exists within the same wall and the same segment of LV in patients with HCM,but IVSTh and LVOTPG is not a neccessary factor causing impairment of LV diastole function.Asynchrony diastole in patients with HCM could be an appereance of cardiomyopathy.
