Journal of the Korean Surgical Society 2004;66(1):56-59
A gastric lymphangioma is a rare benign lymphatic vascular tumor that contain chylous or serous material within dilated lymphatic cyst. Its pathogenesis is unknown and in most case is incidentally founded by radiological or endoscopic examination. On gastrofiberscopy a submucosal tumor with normal mucosa is found. Endoscopic ultrasonography has recently become an indispensable tool for differentiating these gastric submucosal tumors. Here a case of gastric lymphangioma is reported in a 71 years old woman who presented with intermittent vomiting and epigastric discomfort for six months. The patients underwent a wedge resection of the stomach, and was discharged with no complications, on the sixth post-operation day.

A lymphatic cyst of the stomach is rare benign tumor which is composed of thin-walled lymphatic space lined by benign-appearing endothelial cells. It rarely manifests clinical symptoms, so it is found incidentally in most cases. Recently, a case of submucosal lymphatic cyst associated with early gastric cancer was experienced. An endoscopy revealed a slightly elevated, edematous lesion adjacent to the malignant ulcer. This case is herein reported with a brief review of related literature.

Korean Journal of Urology 1978;19(5):461-464
Peripelvic lymphatic cyst or the kidney is a rare case in Korean Urological literature. We have experienced a case of it in 30 years old woman who had a palpable fluctuant mass in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen. The operated cyst was dark-red colored appearance and filled with amber colored fluid about 800cc. We have removed it together with kidney. The cyst measured 200gm. in weight, 10 x 5 x 4.5 cm in size and 0.5cm thickness of the cystic wall. Histological finding of the cystic wall showed a consisting of endometrial cell underlying tissue was collagen fiber and fibrotic change. The fluid of cyst contained 98 % of lymphatic cell.

Lymphoceles are the most frequent surgical complications following kidney transplantation. Symptomatic lymphoceles following kidney transplantation are managed best by surgical marsupialization with intraperitoneal drainage. We performed laparoscopic intraperitoneal drainage in a patient with a large lymphocele and secondary hydronephrosis following a kidney transplant.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1996;34(3):351-357
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to determine normal CT appearance of the neck after total laryngectomy and to evaluate the role of CT in accessing recurrent neoplasm. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In 65 patients who had undergone total laryngectomy, CT findings relating to shape of the neopharynx and alterations of normal anatomic structures were retrospectively reviewed. Fifty-five patients had also undergone neck dissection, and 47 patients had had adjuvant radiation therapy. RESULTS: In 27 patients, a normal neopharynx with a round or ovoid structure connecting the base of the tongue with the cervical esophagus had even wall thickness and iso- or slight hyperdensity to muscle. Fourteen of 32 patients with recurrent neoplasm showed an ill-defined, peripherally enhancing hypodense mass. Twenty-three patients developed metastatic lymphadenopathy and five patients developed coincidental local recurrent mass and lymphadenopathy. Hypodense masses mimicking recurrence were found in six patients and two cases revealed granulation tissues in the oropharynx(n = 2) and abscesses(n = 2). Another four patients were considered to be cases of immediate postoperative fluid collection or lymphocele. CONCLUSION: Aknowledge of normal CT findings of the neck after total laryngectomy is useful in the evaluation of recurrent laryngeal carcinoma.
