Objective To investigate the effect of periodontal basic treatment combined with coenzyme Q10 on cytokines in serum and gingival crevicular fluid of periodontitis with coronary heart disease. Methods A total of 68 patients with periodontitis with coronary heart disease were collected and randomly divided into 2 groups with 34 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated by periodontal basic treatment, patients in the experimental group were treated on the basis of the control group with coenzyme Q10 injection, continuous treatment for 2 weeks, the inflammatory factors levels in serum and gingival crevicular fluid were detected and the periodontal indexes and clinical efficacy were observed. Results Compared with before treatment, the TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8 levels of serum and gingival crevicular fluid were decreased (P<0.05), the plaque index (PLI), sulcus bleeding index (SBI), periodontal depth (PD) and clinical attachment loss (CAL) were decreased (P<0.05);compared with the control group, the TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8 levels in serum and gingival crevicular fluid of the experimental group were lower ( P<0.05 ) , PLI, SBI and PD periodontal indexes were lower (P<0.05), the clinical curative effect was higher (P<0.05).Conclusion Coenzyme Q10 injection in the treatment of patients of periodontitis with coronary heart disease could significantly improve the periodontal inflammation, and reduce the IL-6 and TNF-αlevels in serum and gingival crevicular fluid.
