Objective To explore the effects of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) on cell multiplication and apoptosis at exposure coverage and marginal zone and the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen and apoptosis of subcutaneous neurogliocytoma in nude mice. Methods Eighteen nude mice bearing subcutaneous human neurogliocytoma were consecutively ablated in 20s by an extracorporeal HIFU with 9.7MHz transducer (the focal length of 4.5mm and focal intensity 2500W/cm2). The 18 nude mice were randomly di?vided into 7 d group,14 d group and 30 d group according to sacrifice date. Immunohistochemical method, TdT-mediat?ed dUTP nick end labeling method were used to examine the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and prolifer?ating cell nuclear antigen and apoptosis at exposure coverage, marginal zone and normal zone, respectively. Results The expression of VEGF and proliferating cell nuclear antigen were evident at exposure coverage, marginal zone and normal zone in 7, 14 and 30 days after ablation. The expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen and apoptosis were absent at exposure coverage in 7,14 and 30 days after ablation. The percentage of VEGF expression was lower in marginal zone than in normal zone (23.79%± 3.11% vs. 46.16%± 2.43%) in 7 d after ablation (F=110.03,P<0.05). The percentage of VEGF expression was also lower (10.94%±3.95%) in exposure coverage than in normal zone (46.16%±2.43%) in 7 d af?ter ablation (F=272.80,P<0.05). The percentage of VEGF expression was lower in marginal zone than in normal zone (17.17%±2.89%vs. 43.47%±3.77%) in 14 d after ablation (F=152.05,P<0.05). The percentage of VEGF expression was lower in marginal zone than in normal zone (9.27%± 2.08%vs. 44.58%± 3.34%) in 30 d after ablation (F=274.1,P<0.05 2). The proliferating cell nuclear antigen labeling index(PCNA LI) was lower in marginal zone than in normal zone ((33.04%±4.31%vs. 65.15%±3.85%) in 7 d after ablation (F=242.46, P<0.05). The PCNA LI was lower in marginal zone than in normal zone (21.05%± 1.96%vs. 62.99%± 3.34%) in 14 d after ablation (F=413.52, P<0.05). The PCNA LI was lower in marginal zone than in normal zone (6.36%± 0.51% vs. 62.07%± 18.07%) in 30 d after ablation, (F=729.59, P<0.05) .The apoptotic index (AI) was higher in marginal zone than in normal zone (26.10%±4.54%vs. 1.43%±0.35%) in 7 d after ablation, (F=216.22, P<0.05). The apoptotic index(AI) was higher in marginal zone than in normal zone (65.70%± 1.14% vs. 1.82%± 0.31%) in 14d after ablation (F=1448.64, P<0.05). The apoptotic index (AI) was higher in marginal zone than in normal zone (82.02%± 3.98% vs. 2.52%± 0.29%) in 30d after ablation (F=2244.33, P<0.05). Conclusion The present study demonstrates that an extracorporeal HIFU with 9.7MHz transducer (the focal length of 4.5mm and fo?cal intensity 2500W/cm2) can completely ablate neurogliocytoma at exposure coverage and inhibit the proliferation of neurogliocytoma at marginal zone. Thus, HIFU may be a new and selective treatment for neurogliocytoma.

Objective To investigate the current status and changing patterns of hemodialysis in Wenzhou areas of China from 1999 to 2006. Methods Data of blood purification centres of 18 hospitals in Wenzhou areas from 1999 to 2006 were collected. The incidence, prevalence, mortality, the etiology and the relevant factors such as age, gender, dialysis ages, outcomes and causes of death in end stage renal disease(ESRD) patients on hemodialysis(HD) were analyzed retrospectively. Results The incident number and the number of patients increased annually while the mortality remained steady. The male patients outnumbered the female every year, but the male/female ratio was decreasing. The percentage of both young and oldly patients was increasing. The first cause was chronic glomerulonephritis, although the constituent ratio of glomerulonephritis decreased year by year. The constituent ratio of diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephropathy increased. The constituent ratio of dialysis age 1-2 years group decreased, ≤1 year, 2-3 years, 3-4 years groups were relatively steady, and 4-5 years, 5-10 years, 10 years groups increased. The number of patients receiving renal transplantation and transferring to peritoneal dialysis increased annually. The leading cause of death was cardiovascular incidence (19.9%), followed by cerebrovascular disorder (10.8%), systemic failure (10.8%), hemorrhagic diseases(4.7%) and infectious diseases(4.3%). The constituent ratio of cardiovascular incidence and cerebrovascular disorder were relatively steady. The constituent ratio of hemorrhagic diseases and systemic failure showed great fluctuation. The constituent ratio of infectious diseases and malnutrition was decreasing. Conclusions In Wenzhou area from 1999 to 2006, the patients number has been increasing annually. The onset age of HD is 30-70 years old, and proves a younger tendency and older tendency. The leading cause is chronic glomeralonephritis. The constituent ratio of diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephropathy rises year by year. The long-term survival rate of HD patients is improved. The leading cause of death is cardiovascular accident.

OBJECTIVETo present a new method for correction of prominent malar complex by L-shaped osteotomy through an intraoral incision.
METHODSBased on the anatomical characteristics of the malar complex, we designed a new L-shaped osteotomy for malar eminence reduction. The procedure includes oblique incision of the upper part of the mala, vertical incision of the anterior part of the mala and "greenstick" fracture of the zygomatic arches. According to the severity of malar prominence, we resect part of the anterior-inferior part of the mala and lower the malar complex.
RESULTSThis method was used in 39 patients with prominent malar complex. Of them, 32 were symmetrical and 7 were unsymmetrical. All the patients obtained good results.
CONCLUSIONL-shaped osteotomy for correction of prominent malar complex is a relatively ideal surgical method with the advantages of simpler manipulation, fewer complications, better result, and ensuring the intactness of the structural characteristics of the malar complex.

[Objective]To investigate the association between screen content and the frequency of screen exposure at the age of one and a half years and hyperactive behavior in preschool, and to explore how the association is affected by the interaction between outdoor activities and screen behaviors, which could provide theoretical basis and feasible solutions for the prevention and intervention of behavioral problems in childhoood.[Methods]The survey was conducted from June 2022 to June 2023 in Huicheng District,Huizhou (China) stratified by whole cluster sampling methods. Parents and teachers of 5648 children in 61 kindergartens were sampled for questionnaire surveys. The Conners Teacher Rating Scale (TRS) was used to investigate hyperactive behavior. A self-administered questionnaire was used to investigate basic demographic information of children, screen content, frequency of screen exposure and outdoor activities at the age of one and a half years. Multivariate logistic regression was used to explore the association between video screen behavior and hyperactive behavior and its interaction with outdoor activities by controlling for covariates such as children's age, gender, and parental education.[Results]Result showed the overall prevalence of 3.2% for hyperactive behavior,2.1% for conduct problems,2.1% for hyperactivity problems,1.3% for inattention-passivity problems, and 0.9% for hyperactivity index. After adjusting for confounding factors, multiple logistic regression analysis showed that screen exposure of "two to four times a week" at one and a half years old was associated with an increased detection rate of hyperactive behaviors in preschool children, with an estimated ORs (95% CI) of 1.682 (1.141,2.480). Daily screen exposure was associated with increased detection rates of hyperactive behavior, conduct problems, hyperactivity issues,inattention-passivity problems, and hyperactivity index in pre-school age. The estimated ORs (95% CI) were 2.136 (1.218,3.746),2.321 (1.185,4.546),2.300 (1.208,4.380),2.776 (1.267,6.085) and 3.640 (1.525,8.687),respectively. But the above associations were not found in children who were engaged in daily outdoor activities at the age of one and a half years (P value for interaction<0.001). No association was found between screen content and hyperactive behavior (P>0.05).[Conclusions]Frequency of screen exposure in early childhood is significantly associated with hyperactive behavior problems in preschool, and outdoor activities could weaken the correlation between high-frequency screen exposure and hyperactive behavior, suggesting that parents and schools should prioritize scientifically guiding children's video viewing behavior and outdoor activities, ensuring a well-arranged daily life,to lay a good foundation for the healthy development of children's behavior.
