The system of meridians and acupoints in the traditional Chinese medication (TCM) builds up a complex network. We analyze the features and properties of the system of meridians and acupoints as a complex network based on knowledge of TCM and mathematics. The system shows some important features of complex networks such as the small-world effect and the scale-free property. A preliminary discussion on the robustness of the meridian system as a complex network, and the biomedical functions of such robustness is also given.

Objective To explore the engrafted effect of NSCs combined with OECs on the motor function repair of hindlimbs in rats subjected to spinal cord transected injury. Methods The NSCs and OECs were isolated from the Transgenic Green Fluorescent Protein(GFP) embryo mouse' hippocamp and neonatal mouse' olfactory bulb.Rats were divided into NSCs group,OECs group and co-transplantation group as well as control group. The recovery of posterior limb motor function in rats subjected to spinal cord transected injurywas evaluated by the BBB locomotion score respectively in each weekend among eight weeks. This was followed by a histochemiscal observation to know the engrafted cells survival and migration in the spinal cord of host under the fluorescence microscope. Results The NSCs and OECs cells survived and migrated in the spinal cord of transplantation groups:the motor functional improvement of hindlimb in rats was seen in all cell transplanted groups;NSCs group,OECs group and co-transplantation group demonstrated a significant increase than that of control group at 3 and 4 weeks post operation(P 0.05).Conclusions The engrafted NSCs,OECs and co-transplantation can improve partly the motor function recovery of hindlimb in rats at 3 to 4 weeks following cord transection; The OECs group and co-transplantation have better effects than that of NSCs group, but there is no obvious difference between the OECs group and co-transplantation group at observed time point in this investigation.

This study was aimed to optimize the near infrared (NIR) variable selection method based on multivariate detection limit (MDL). Using Qing-Kai-Ling (QKL) injection as object, three variable selection methods (interval par-tial least-squares, iPLS; backward interval partial least squares, BiPLS; moving window interval partial least squares, mwPLS) were used to establish the PLS models of baicalin in QKL injection, respectively. The prediction ability of different variable selection method was compared. MDL of all models were calculated in contrast to the MDL value of full spectra PLS model, to select optimal variable selection method. The results showed that different variable selec-tion methods had different prediction ability. Among them, iPLS had the best performance which determination coef-ficient of prediction (Rpre2) and the root mean square errors of prediction (SEP) were 0.996 5 and 602.3 μg·mL-1, re-spectively. All MDLs of different variable selection methods were reduced compared with the full spectra PLS model. The value of iPLS was the lowest comes to be 1.19 μg·mL-1. The results above indicated that the best variable se-lection method for baicalin in QKL injection was iPLS. MDL theory took the error of calibration and validation set and the leverage of external sample into account, which can comprehensively evaluate model detection performance compared to the classic chemical indicator parameters. This method was particularly suitable for the variable selec-tion method optimization of NIR quantitative model of low concentration sample such as Chinese herbal medicine.

This article intends to explore the application and implementation effect of network platform teaching in the standardized residency training of rheumatology and immunology. Through the implementation of online platform teaching (micro-class, online PBL teaching, and air class) for the training residents rotating in the rheumatology and immunology department, the questionnaire survey was carried out. The results showed that the satisfaction of the residents with the online platform teaching reached 96.88% (31/32), and more than 90.00% of the residents believed that their self-learning ability and clinical thinking ability have been improved, and their learning initiative and enthusiasm have also been improved, which deserves further promotion.

Objective A precise microinvasive robot system coupled with a cooperative robot matrix and an end effector of a wire-controlled microvariable path robot was proposed.A puncture needle structure, including the rigid body of the outer needle,non-uniform flexible body of the inner needle, force control wire, internal imaging of the image fiber, and other components, was designed to verify the feasibility of this system. Methods By constructing the puncture structure of the puncture robot, the structural optimization design of the key components affecting the variable-path precision puncture needle was analyzed by constructing the puncture structure of a puncture robot.Based on the orthogonal experimental design method,a three-factor and three-level experiment that primarily affected the accuracy of the puncture needle was designed, namely, the starting distance of the hole center from the edge, the diameter of the hole, and the distance between the two holes. The experiment was verified and simulated using a real object. Results The displacement of the titanium-nickel needle tip had a significant relationship with the starting distance of the hole center from the edge, and the main and secondary influencing factors were as follows:starting distance of the hole center from the edge>hole diameter>hole distance. When the starting distance of the hole center from the edge was 1 mm,the diameter of the hole was 0.2 mm,and the distance between the two holes was 2.6 mm,the displacement of the titanium-nickel needle tip was the maximum value. Conclusions The experiment verified the functional applicability of the designed system and the linear elastic hysteresis characteristics of variable path puncture, providing a reference for further in vivo experiments and system optimization.

Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of venetoclax (VEN) combined with azacitidine (AZA) versus CAG regimen combined with decitabine (DAC) in elderly patients with relapsed acute myeloid leukemia (AML).Methods:From January 2018 to August 2020, the clinical data of forty-five elderly patients with relapse AML at the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were retrospectively analyzed, including 31 males and 14 females. The median age was 66 (60-80) years old. Eighteen patients were administrated with VEN and AZA, while the other 27 were in CAG with DAC. The complete remission (CR) rate, partial remission (PR) rate, total remission rate (ORR), adverse events and overall survival (OS) were compared between the two groups. Results:At the end of the treatment, the ORR in VEN with AZA group was 77.8% (14/18); including 11 CR and 3 PR. In CAG with DAC group, the ORR was 37.0% (10/27); including 8 CR and 2 PR ( P=0.007). Subgroup analysis suggested that VEN with AZA had a higher ORR in patients stratified as intermediate and poor-risk ( P=0.013) or with DNA methylation mutations ( P=0.007). Main adverse events in both groups were bone marrow suppression, infections, nausea and vomiting, anorexia and fatigue. Grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ cytopenia developed in lower incidence of VEN with AZA group, such as leukopenia (66.7% vs. 100%, P=0.002), anemia (50.0% vs. 92.6%, P=0.002), thrombocytopenia (72.2% vs. 96.3%, P=0.031) and neutropenia (61.1% vs. 92.6%, P=0.014). In addition, less grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ infections occurred in VEN with AZA group (66.7% vs. 33.3%, P=0.028), as well as grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ gastrointestinal events (40.7% vs. 11.1%, P=0.032), grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ fatigue (55.6% vs.11.1%, P=0.003) compared with CAG with DAC group. The 1-year OS in VEN with AZA group versus CAG with DAC group was 42.9% and 31.6% respectively ( P=0.150). Conclusion:VEN combined with AZA proves favorable efficacy and tolerablity in elderly patients with relapsed AML.
