1.Anti-inflammatory activities of glucosamine salts
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;234(4):21-24
Perform research synthetic glucosamine hydrochloride (Glu-1) and anti-inflammatory activity of Glu-1 on test mouse. Evaluate effect of inhibit beriberi inflame acute, effect of inhibit increase degree of imbibe artery hang bowel, inhibit development of experimental chronic inflame and effect of relieve writhe pain of Glu-1. Result: synthesized Glu-1 and determined structure by modern, high degree of accuracy method. Glu-1 showed significant anti-inflammatory ability compared with diclofenac, which is being used in the same experimental conditions.

2.Antiarthritic activities of glucosamine hydrochloride
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;10():21-22
Glucosamine hydrochlorid (Glu-1) used in treatment for arthritis. This study designed to identify anti-inflammatory activities on experimental rats with knee arthritis by formaldehyde and follow by measurement joint's size of animals treated with glucosamine hydrochlorid (Glu-1). The results showed that Glu-1 can reduce knee arthritis by 9.35-9.59% in comparison with reduction (18.56-18.81%) by glutine which used popular in the market. So Glu-1 have less effective than standard glutine (Glu-2). The study identified LD50 by injectable glucosamine hydrochlorid is 6.700.71 g/kg

3.Synthesis and study on the hypocholesterolemia effects of N,N,N-trimethylchitosan (TMC)
Pharmaceutical Journal 2000;293(9):9-11
Quaternized chitosan was synthesized and structurally determined. The result showed that N,N,N-trimethylchitosan had a significant lowering cholesterol effect in blood of rats and rabbits in comparison to cholestyramine. Moreover TMC did not decrease the HDL-C (High Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol) used in treatment of arteriosclerosis.

Background: According to WHO, there are 5 million deaths from kinds of injury a year in the world, of which 875000 deaths occur in children under 18 years old. Injury leads to 40000 deaths which account for 10.7% deaths due to all other causes a year in VietNam. Objective: To show conclusions of the situation of child injury, recommendations for prevention of child injury and methods in order to enhance emergency activity in Vietnam. Subjects and method: The authors collected information about all patients who had emergencies due to injury at Viet Duc hospital, from March 26th 2006 to Octorber 26th 2006. However, supervised cases were the patients under 18 years old who were examined and treated at the Department of Emergency. Results: During the period of study, 2536 patients under 18 years old were examined for injury, of which death and coming back home for death were 83 cases (3.27%). 974 children had emergency resulted from injury: male was more than female: 697 verus 227. The leading causes of child injury were fall and traffic accident, respetively 34% and 60%. The most common traumas were traumatic brain injury (45%), limbs injury (41%). Although most of cases had first aid at the hospitals in district or province level, the rate of non-first aid cases was high (34%). Conclusion: Child injury is a leading cause of child death in hospitals. Methods for prevention of child injury should focus on educating and propagandizing to minimize injuries caused by traffic accident and fall.
