1.Role of glucose transporters in apoptosis induced by sodium butyrate
Chinese Journal of Practical Internal Medicine 2006;0(19):-
Objective The regulation on glucose transporters(GLUT1~GLUT5)by sodium butyrate was observed, and the regulation on bax and bcl-x/l by sodium butyrate and glucose was studied. This helped to learn about the possible mechanism of apoptosis of cancer cells induced by sodium butyrate. Methods The expression of GLUT1~GLUT5 mRNA was detected by RT-PCR.The expression of bax and bcl-x/l was detected by immuocytochemistry.Cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL assay. Results In HT-29 cell line, sodium butyrate downregulated the expression of GLUT1 mRNA and the expression of bcl-x/l and induced cancer cell apoptosis, but did not regulate the expression of GLUT2,GLUT3,GLUT5 and bax.GLUT4 was not detected in HT-29 cell line. And when treated with sodium butyrate, the increase of concentration of glucose could increase the expression of bcl-x/l and reduce the effect of apoptosis induced by sodium butyrate.Without treatment with sodium butyrate, the change of glucose concentration only had a feeble regulation on apoptosis. Conclusion Sodium butyrate can obviously downregulate the expression of GLUT1 and downregulation of the expression of GLUT1 is associated with the apoptosis induced by sodium butyrate in HT-29 cell line.
2.Study on Processing for Rhizoma Pinelliae (Processed with Licorice and Lime)by Orthogonal Design
Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(08):-
The procedure for Rhizoma Pinelliae(Processed with Licorice and Lime) was combinatively evaluated by L_9(3)~4 orthogonal design with three factors:decocting times for Radix Glycyrrhizae, concentrated volume of decoction and macerating time. The optimum condition is as follows: each 100g of Rhizoma Pinelliae, accompanied with 15g of Radix Glycyrrhizae (decocted with water for two times, then the two decoctions were combined, and concentrated to 150ml.)and 10g of calx, was macerated in concentrated decoction of Radix Glyeyrrhizae for six days

Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2016;36(5):552-556
Nowadays extensive attention has been paid on the research of acupuncture academic schools, however, a widely accepted method of partition of acupuncture academic schools is still in need. In this paper, the methods of partition of acupuncture academic schools in the history have been arranged, and three typical methods of"partition of five schools" "partition of eighteen schools" and "two-stage based partition" are summarized. After adeep analysis on the disadvantages and advantages of these three methods, a new method of partition of acupuncture academic schools that is called "three-stage based partition" is proposed. In this method, after the overall acupuncture academic schools are divided into an ancient stage, a modern stage and a contemporary stage, each schoolis divided into its sub-school category. It is believed that this method of partition can remedy the weaknesses ofcurrent methods, but also explore a new model of inheritance and development under a different aspect through thedifferentiation and interaction of acupuncture academic schools at three stages.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(03):-
Objective To explore the value of morphometric quantitative parameters in differential diagnosis of common thyroid benign and malignant tumors, and establish a data bank as a basis for diagnosing diseases with the help of computer. Methods Using PIPS-2020 image analysis system to make a morphometric analysis in 32 cases of thyroid benign papillary lesion (TBPL), 32 cases of thyroid papillary adenocarcinoma(TPAC), 27 cases of thyroid follicular adenoma(TFA) and 24 cases of thyroid follicular adenocarcinoma(TFAC). Results Among many morphometric quantitative parameters of nuclei, eight including area, circumferential length, diameter, volume, long diameter, short diameter, largest to smallest diameter ratio, and circular rate were selected to analyze. The eight morphometric quantitative parameters between TFA and TFAC had a highly significant difference(P0.01). Conclusion These nuclear parameters have some value in differentiation of common thyroid benign and malignant tumors.
6.Correlation factors analysis for surgical treatment in lumbar spinal tuberculosis
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2014;37(17):47-49
Objective To explore the correlation factors for surgical treatment in lumbar spinal tuberculosis. Methods A total of 46 patients with lumbar spinal tuberculosis who underwent surgical treatment were analyzed. The possible correlation between the clinicopathologic features and clinical outcome were analyzed by Logistic regression analysis. Results Nine patients failed in surgical treatment.Multiple analysis showed that the number of infected vertebrae (OR =6.44,95% CI:2.47-19.92) and internal fixation (OR =10.76,95% CI:3.50-18.74) had significant correlation with the clinical outcome. Conclusions Surgical treatment for lumbar spinal tuberculosis has a favorable outcome in patients. The number of infected vertebrae and internal fixation are significant risk factors for poor outcome.

Objective:To evaluate the sonographic characteristics of primary lymphoma of the thyroid gland and to analyze histo-pathologic findings and other imaging features to improve the diagnostic accuracy of this disease. Methods: We retrospectively re-viewed the records of 20 patients with histologically proven primary lymphoma of the thyroid gland. The clinical, pathologic, sono-graphic, CT, and MRI features were analyzed. Results:Histology revealed non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 20 patients. Ultrasound revealed lateral thyroid lobe disease in 12 cases and the presence of unilateral masses in 8 cases. The main features seen were diffusely enlarged thyroid gland. The lateral or unilateral thyroid lobe was with hypoechoic masses intermingled with echogenic structures. A total of 16 cases showed enlarged lymph nodes, 5 cases showed invasion of trachea, and 1 case involved the trachea and esophagus. Conclusion:Primary lymphoma of the thyroid gland usually presents with clinical and sonographic findings mimicking a carcinoma or benign tu-mor. If clinical features revealed rapidly enlarging neck masses and sonographic characteristics represented by malignant features of Hashimoto thyroiditis, then we should consider lymphoma. However, the final diagnosis depends on histopathology.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(01):-
Objective To study the therapeutic effect and complication of external beam radiotherapy (EBR) plus intracavitary brachytherapy (IB) on nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC). Methods 52 patients with stage T 1,T 2 NPC were divided into two groups, 26 patients treated by EBR and the other 26 patients treated by EBR plus IB (combined radiotherapy group). IB was given to the patients of combined radiotherapy group when the external radiotherapy dose amounted to 40Gy,50Gy and 60Gy, respectively. Results The 3-year local control rates of combined radiotherapy group and EBR group were 100% and 73.08%, respectively (P0.05). Conclusions External beam radiotherapy combined with intacavitary brachytherapy for stage T 1, T 2 NPC may rise the local control rates, and reduce the exteral beam radiation dose and the complication.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2000;0(11):-
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of surgical treatment of Ebstein's anomaly with modified Carpentier's repair technique. Methods ⑴Enlarging the anterior leaflet with a pericardium patch; ⑵The edge of posterior leaflet was sewed to the edge of anterior leaflet or septal leaflet in favor of enlarging the area of leaflet; ⑶Annulus was reinforced with the terylene ring covered with pericardium; ⑷Adjustable Devega's procedure. Results 31 patients with Ebstein's anomaly underwent modified Carpentier's repair operation from Jan 1992 to May 2003 in our institution. There was one patient died after operation because of a fatal cardiac dysfunction, and no late deaths. During the followed-up period of 6~94 months, all surviving patients had a marked improvement of heart function, and 6 cases were in class I, 21 in class II and 3 in class III. There were no postoperative rhythm disturbances. Conclusion The modified Carpentier's repair technique is feasible and possesses a good outcome.
