Objective To study the effects of formaldehyde on activities of enzymes in testes of male mice. Methods Male Kunming mice were used. Experimental groups had been exposed to formaldehyde with different doses by i.p. once per day for 7 consecutive days. The formaldehyde doses were 0.2, 2.0 and 20.0 mg/kg body weight. The mice were killed after 7 days of treatment and their testes were fetched out to be made into even slurry and the activities of LDH, G-6-PD and SDH in them were tested. Results The activities of G-6-PD and SDH were decreased with the increasing of doses of formaldehyde. OBJECTIVE:To compare therapeutic efficacies of Shengxuening tablet and Iron sucrose injection for anemia in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD)patients,and their effects on oxidative stress and micro-inflammation state. METHODS:80 pa-tients who had received MHD over half year were assigned into shengxuening group and iron sucrose group with 40 cases in each group. Both groups received MHD 3 times a week,4 h/time,blood flow of 200~300 ml/min;erythropoietin(EPO)was used at a dose of 10 000 IU/time hypodermically in each group. Shengxuening group was additionally given Shengxuening tablet orally,0.5 g/time,tid. Iron sucrose group was given Iron sucrose injection 100 mg 2 h intravenously via dialyser after the beginning of hemo-dialysis,twice a week,received iron treatment every one week until complete the total dose of 1 000 mg,to maintain ferritin be-tween 100~300 μg/L. The levels of Hb,Hct,SF,TSAT,hs-CRP,IL-6,TNF-α,MDA,SOD and GSH-Px were tested in 2 groups before and 12 weeks after the treatment. RESULTS:After 12 weeks of treatment,the levels of Hb,Hct,SF and TSAT in 2 groups were significantly increased,with statistical significance (P<0.01);but there was no statistical significance between 2 groups (P>0.05). Compared with before treatment,the levels of hs-CRP,IL-6,TNF-α and MDA increased significantly in iron sucrose group,while SOD and GSH-Px levels declined significantly,with statistical significance (P<0.01). Above indicators of shengxuening group had no significant change,compared with before treatment;there was statistical significance between 2 groups after treatment(P<0.01). No obvious ADR was found in 2 groups. CONCLUSIONS:Therapeutic efficacy of shengxuening is simi-lar to that of iron sucrose in improving the anemia and iron deficiency status of MHD patients,but doesn't aggravate oxidative stress and micro-inflammation state. It is an safe and effective oral iron supplement drugs.

Objective To observe the effects of bisphenol A (BPA) on the reproductive function in F1 mice. Methods Pregnancy mice were divided into four groups randomly. From the beginning of pregnance,the mice in experimental groups were given BPA with 30,120,360 mg?kg-1?d-1 until the new mice were born. The mice in control group were given the same volume of corn oil. When the young mice were 30 d, the sperm malformation rate,the activities of lactic acid dehydrogenase(LDH) and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PD) of testicle,the organ coefficient, the histopatholgical changes of testicle in male mice were examined. Results The form of the epithelial cells of seminiferous tubules was disordered. The number of mature spermatozoa was decreased. This changes were more and more with the increase of BPA dose. Compared with control group,organ coefficients in low and large dose groups reduced,LDH activity and G-6-PD activity in middle and large dose groups decreased,LDH activity in low dose group increased. Objective To analyze the allergens and sex ,age distribution of chronic urticaria in Chengdu .Methods Totally 859 patients with chronic urticaria were tested with 13 kinds inhaled allergens and 15 kinds of food allergens by skin prick test .Re‐sults The top 5 allergens were:dermatophagoides farinae、dermatophagoides pteronyssinus ,cockroach ,shrimp and sea‐crab .The positive rate of dermatophagoides farinae was 58 .7% ,dermatophagoides pteronyssinus which was 55 .1% took second place .No difference was found between sex ,more inhaled allergens were found positive than food allergens in both sex groups .The positive rate was higher in people younger than 60 .Conclusion Dermatophagoides farinae ,dermatophagoides pteronyssinus ,cockroach , shrimp and sea‐crab are the commonest allergens in Chengdu .The skin prick test is important in the individualized treatment of chronic urticaria and health education .It may also be helpful in the management of chronic allergic skin diseases .

Objective: To study the effect of enalapril on inducible atrial fibrillation(AF) in old rats. Methods: Old male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group(n = 12) and experimental group(n = 13). Rats in control group were fed routinely. Rats were fed with enalapril besides normal diet in experimental group for three months. Rats were then anesthetized, thoracotomy was performed and pericardium was opened to expose heart. Right atrium effective refractory period(ERP) was measured. Sinus conduction time (SCT) and sinus recovery time (SRT) were measured for evaluating sinus function. Interatrial conduction time(IACT) and atrium response to burst pacing were evaluated in vivo. Plasma angiotensinⅡ level and atrial tissue angiotensinⅡ level were determined by radioimmunoassay. Sections were cut from the tissue of atrium and stained with Masson trichrome. The ratio of the area occupied by interstitial to the total area was measured. Results: Contrast to control group,IACT and SRT were shorter in experimental group(P ＜ 0.01 and P ＜ 0.05 respectively). AF were induced in 9 rats in control group and 4 rats in experimental group(P ＜ 0.05). AngiotensinⅡconcentration was significantly decreased in right and left atrium tissues of experimental group compared with that in control group(P ＜ 0.01). A significant decrease in interstitial atrial fibrosis was presented in experimental group compared with that of control group(P ＜ 0.01). Conclusion: Inducible atrial fibrillation rate was decreased in old rats after treatment with enalapril. This effect maybe resulted from the inhibited local atrium renin-angiotensin system and improved sinus node function by enalapril.

Prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and rectal cancer are common malignancies in the male pelvis. The incidence rate of erectile dysfunction (ED) following radical prostatectomy, cystectomy or rectal cancer surgery is about 25% - 100%. The main cause of post-surgery ED is mainly attributed to injury of neurovascular bundles, which may lead to reduced oxygenation in and fibrosis of the penile tissue. Early penile rehabilitation after surgery can improve or restore the erectile function of the patients. This article focuses on penile rehabilitation after radical pelvic surgery.

OBJECTIVE To investigate drugresistance and clinical distribution characteristics of Staphylococcus strains isolated from inpatients.METHODS The meticillin-resistance and drug-resistance of the Staphylococcus strains isolated from the clinical specimens of the inpatients in our hospital between 2003 and 2005 were tested.RESULTS Totally 768 Staphylococcus strains were mainly isolated from sputum,blood,pus and wound secretion.The main clinical wards were from pediatrics,ICU,tumor chemotherapy departments.The age of these inpatients were mainly over 60 years old(48.7%) and less than 13 years old(33.2%).Two hundred and ninetyStaphylococcus aureus strains(37.8%)and 478 coagulase-negative Staphylococcus strains(62.2%)were included.The isolated rates of meticillin-resistant S.aureus and meticillin-resistant coagulasenegative Staphylococcus were 74.8% and 89.1%,respectively.CONCLUSIONS Infections of Staphylococcus are increased year by year among inpatients.There are high rates of meticillin-resistant strains.It is very important to monitor infections of Staphylococcus,to control the source of infections,to interrupt their spread and to protect impressionable inpatients,in order to prevent infections of Staphylococcus actively.

OBJECTIVE:To explore the new model and feasibility of the combination of ward round conducted by business president and pharmaceutical administration.METHODS:The organization form,procedures,content and experience of ward round conducted by business president were introduced based on the practice of our hospital.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:The pharmaceutical ward rounds conducted by business president are carried out once a month in our hospital to intervene irrational medication by means of medication survey,administration intervention and education with guidance and supervision of rational use of drug as core.Multi-disciplinary cooperation is effective measure for improving rational use of drug.It can strengthen public perception on rational use of drug in all areas by enhancing experience at key point which is worth of spreading.

Aim To investigate the effects of the alco-hol extract from Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. on urinary metabolomics of spontaneous hypertension rats ( SHR) . Methods SHR were fed with normal diet for 1 week and then, they were randomly divided into six groups:untreated control, the high, middle, low dos-age group of the alcohol extract(3.2 g·kg-1 ,1.6 g· kg-1,0.8 g·kg-1) , captopril group(4 mg·kg-1) and Duzhong tablet group(187.5 mg·kg-1). The u-rine of normal rats and SHR hypertension model rats was collected on 1,2,3,4 weeks. The metabolic pro-files were analyzed using 1 H-NMR. PLS-DA methods were used to discriminate the difference and the bio-markers. Results Compared with model group, the blood pressure of all groups was significantly lowered after 4 weeks ( P <0.01 ) . The alcohol extract from Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. could significantIy reduce blood pressure, and the urinary metabolic profiles trea-ted with Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. were changed signifi-cantly such as IIL,creatine,β-glucose,etc. Conclusion The alcohol extract from Coreopsis tinctoria Nutt. could significantIy reduce blood pressure and change the urinary metabolomics profiles of SHR rats.

Objective To investigate the subtype distribution and sequence characteristics of HIV-1 strains prevalent among sexual infectors in Beijing. Methods We collected the blood samples from 100HIV sexual infectors in Beijing during 2008 and separated plasma specimens. RNA was extracted from the plasma and the gag gene was amplified by RT-PCR and nest-PCR. The PCR products were sequenced directly and phylogenetic analyses of gag gene was performed using the MEGA4 software. Results Among 100 HIV-1 plasma samples,84 gag gene fragments were amplified and analyzed. Eight HIV subtypes including B(22 strains), B'(8 strains),C( 1 strain) ,CRF01_AE (38 strains) ,CRF02_AG (2 strains) ,CRF07_BC(9 strains) ,CRF08_BC(3 strains) and C/CRF01_AE recombinant like strain( 1 strain) were identified circulating in Beijing. Conclusion CRF01 _AE and subtype B were predominant in Beijing account for 45.2% and 26.2% and the surveillance of HIV gene variation should be paid more attention.
