OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of pregabalin assisting anti-histamine drugs in the treat-ment of secondary skin pruritus in uremic patients underwent maintenance hemodialysis. METHODS:140 uremic patients with sec-ondary skin pruritus underwent maintenance hemodialysis were randomly divided into control group and treatment group,with 70 cases in each group. Control group was given loratadine orally,10 mg,qd. Treatment group was additionally given pregabalin on the basis of control group,75 mg,po,at night of hemodialysis end,increasing by 75 mg every week if no obvious relief was found,maximal dose of 300 mg. Both group received 3 months of treatment. Clinical efficacy,VAG itching score,modified Duo score,PSQI score before and after treatment and the incidence of ADR were compared between 2 groups. RESULTS:Total effec-tive rate of treatment group (90.00%) was significantly higher than that of control group (71.43%),with statistical significance (P<0.05);VAG itching score,modified Duo score and PSQI score of treatment group after treatment were significantly lower than control group and before treatment,with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Pregabalin assisting anti-histamine drugs in the treatment of secondary skin pruritus in uremic patients with maintenance hemodialysis can efficiently relieve the itching symptoms,improve sleep quality,and not increase the risk of ADR.

OBJECTIVE To study whether immunosuppressant(IS,cyclophosphamide,CPA) have the function of prevention and treatment of congenitalautoimmune sensorineural hearing loss or not.METHODS The female guinea pigs were immunized by crude conspecific inner ear antigens(CIEAgs),and took orally IS or not at the same time during gestation.Then the pregnant guinea pig's and their offspring's hearing function were measured and inner ear histopathologic changes were observed.Some of offspring borne by the female guinea pigs which immunized with CIEAgs and not treated with IS showed hearing loss and were treated by IS,and their hearing functions were measured and inner ear histopathologic changes were observed with same techniques.RESULTS After immunizing with CIEAgs,some of female guinea pigs which immunized with CIEAgs and not treated with IS showed different degrees of hearing loss(the thresholds of acoustic nerve compound active potential and cochlear microphonic potentials elevated) and immune inflammations in inner ear tissues.All females guinea pigs in experimental group which immunized with CIEAgs and treated with IS at same time,and their offspring have no any hearing loss and inner ear histopathologic changes.After IS therapy,the hearing function improved(mainly at the low-frequency region) in some offspring guinea pigs,which borne by the female guinea pigs which immunized with CIEAgs and not treated with IS.CONCLUSION IS could effectively prevent offspring's congenital sensorineural hearing loss induced by their mother's special antibodies against inner ear tissues antigens.IS showed effective result for treatment of congenitalautoimmune sensorineural hearing loss,but the curative effect was limited.

Objective To compare efficacy of pemetrexed (MTA) combined with cisplatin (DDP) and docetaxel (TXT) combined with DDP in treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods 50 patients with NSCLC from May 1, 2013 to May 1, 2015 in the hospital were seleced and randomly divided into two groups:MTA group (n=25) were received MTA combined with DDP, and TXT group(n=25) were received TXT combined with DDP, for a course of twenty-one days.After treatment, the efficacy of two therapy as well as adverse reactions were compared.ResuIts After treatment, the soluble intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (sICAM-1) and soluble vasccular cell adhesion molecule 1 (sVCAM-1) levels in MTA group were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), but there were no statistical differences in TXT group, and the above two indicators in MTA group were lower than those in TXT group(P<0.05).There were no significant difference of total efficacy between MTA group and TXT group (20.00% vs.16.00%, χ2 =0.136,P>0.05).The adverse reaction of nausea and vomiting, anemia, low platelet count, neutropenia and alopecia in MTA group was lower than that in TXT group (40.00%vs.72.00%,χ2 =5.195,P<0.05).ConcIusion The efficacy of MTA combined with DDP and TXT combined with DDP in treatment of NSCLC is similar, but the adverse reactions of fomer one is lower.

Objective To investigate the effect of Zhuang medicine acupuncture on brainstem auditory evoked potential (BAEP) in patients with posterior circulation ischemic vertigo (PCIV).Methods Eighty-five PCIV patients were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 45 cases and a control group of 40 cases. The control group received conventional basic therapy and the treatment group, Zhuang medicine acupuncture in addition. The peak latencies (Pg) of BAEP waveⅠ ,Ⅰ andⅠ and the interpeak latencies (IPg) of waveⅠ-Ⅰ,Ⅰ-Ⅰ andⅠ-Ⅰ were compared between the two groups after treatment.Results There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in waveⅠ andⅠ Pg and waveⅠ-Ⅰ andⅠ-Ⅰ IPg between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Zhuang medicine acupuncture plus medication is an effective way to treat PCIV. It can improve BAEP indicators in the patients.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of new transnasal Fujifilm EG-530-NW electronic gastroscope.Methods A total of 295 patients who underwent gastroscopy were randomly divided into 2 groups to receive examination by routine endoscope (n =172) or Fujifilm EG-530-NW transnasal endoscope (n =123).The fluctuation of heart rate,blood pressure and compliance during the examination were recorded and compared between the two groups.Results The new Fujifilm EG-530-NW could obtain clear images with same quality of routine gastroscope.The heart rate change and visual analog pain score in patients from EG-530-NW gastroscope group were significantly lower than those of routine gastroscope group (P ＜ 0.05).No significant difference in blood pressure fluctuation was observed between the two groups.In patients older than 50 years,the fluctuations of heart rate and blood pressure in EG-530-NW group were significantly less than those of routine gastroscope group.Conclusion Fujifilm EG-530-NW gastroscope can get high quality image with less influence on heart rate and blood pressure fluctuation,which is more significant in older patients.

Objective:To explore how coping style and social support influence the quality of life in patients with impaired glucose tolerance, which act respectively as the internal and external mediating ways. Methods:A total of 283 patients with impaired glucose tolerance from 6 Three-A hospitals in China were surveyed with self-rating anxiety scale, self-rating depression scale, trait coping style questionnaire, social support scale, and WHOQOL-BREF.
Results:Biographic data failed to predict the quality of life in patients with impaired glucose tolerance, while anxiety, depression, social support and coping style significantly influenced their quality of life.
Conclusion:The fact that emotional disorder, social support and coping style influence the quality of life in patients with type 2 diabetes also exists in patients with impaired glucose tolerance.

Objective To investigate the effects of dextran sulfate on lung ischemia-reperfusion injury after lung transplantation in rats.Method A total of 32 male Wistar rats were subjected to unilateral left lung orthotopic transplantation.They were randomly divided two groups (n =16 each):DXS group [DXS (10 mg/kg) was given prior to the reperfusion],and the control group (the same volume of normal saline was given).After animals were sacrificed,the lung graft was harvested 2 h after reperfusion.Oxygenation indexes,wet/dry ratio (W/D),myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity,malondialdehyde (MDA) and endothelin 1 (ET-1) in the transplanted lung,and tumor necrosis factor a (TNF-α) and interleukin 8 (IL-8) in serum were measured.The lung injury scores were evaluated and complement deposition was observed.Result After 2-h reperfusion,compared to the control group,oxygenation indexes were improved significantly in DXS group (P＜0.05),but there were no significant differences in W/D between two groups.In DXS group,the activity of MPO was significantly reduced,and the contents of MDA and ET-1 in the lung tissue were significantly reduced as compared with the control group.DXS reduced the level of TNF-α and IL-8 markedly in serum (P ＜0.05).There was no significant difference in lung injury score between two groups (4.53 ± 0.46 vs.5.28 ±0.49,P＞0.05).Compared to the control group,DXS reduced the deposition of C3c (0.8 ±0.2vs1.5±0.3) andC6 (1.2±0.4vs.2.4±0.5) (P＜0.05).Conclusion Administration of DXS attenuated ischemia-reperfusion injury after lung transplantation by inhibiting complement deposition,and improved the oxygenation of the transplanted lung.This protection was associated with inhibition of inflammation and oxidation and endothelial cytoprotection.

Objective To express the receptor binding domain (RBD) protein of the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) and to characterize the antigenicity of the purified recombi-nant protein. Methods The codon-optimized gene encoding the RBD protein of MERS-CoV was synthesized and then cloned into the pET30a ( +) vector to construct the recombinant expression plasmid. The trans-formed E. coli BL21 (DE3) strains carrying expression plasmid were induced by IPTG under different condi-tions. The expressed products were purified by using nickel affinity chromatography and further analyzed by SDS-PAGE and Western blot assay. Indirect ELISA was performed to analyze the antigenicity and specificity of RBD proteins expressed in prokaryotic expression systems in human serological test. Results The recom-binant RBD proteins were mainly expressed as conclusion body in an optimal induction condition of 37℃ and 0. 5 mmol/ L IPTG for 4 h. The high purified recombinant RBD proteins were obtained through denaturation and renaturation with a relative molecular mass of about 29×103 . Results of the Western blot assay showed that the recombinant RBD proteins could have specific reaction with the serum samples collected form mice with MERS-CoV infection. Indirect ELISA revealed that the RBD proteins expressed in the prokaryotic ex-pression system showed better sensitivity and specificity in the detection of antibodies against MERS-CoV in human serum samples. Conclusion This study reported the prokaryotic expression and purification of RBD protein of MERS-CoV for the first time, which might pave the way for further investigation on immunological detection of MERS-CoV and development of vaccines against MERS-CoV infection.

Objective To quantitatively analyze the effects of high background radiation area (HBRA) on the frequencies of translocation and unstable chromosome aberrations in human peripheral blood lymphocytes.Methods Based on the data from 9 published articles retrieved from 7 electronic databases,the Meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the effects of high natural background radiation (HNBR) on the frequencies of chromosome aberrations in the peripheral blood lymphocytes in 17 777 persons from HBRA and 10 386 from the control area (CA).Cochrane's Q and I2 statistics were used to evaluate heterogeneity among studies and pooling odds ratio (OR) with 95％ confidence intervals (95％ CI) were calculated using random-effect models.Publication bias was also calculated by funnel plot,Egger linear regression test and Begg rank correlation test.Results The pooling OR of translocation [OR(95％ CI) =1.57(1.10-2.24)] and unstable chromosome aberration [OR(95％ CI) =2.04(1.32-3.14)] of long-term exposed inhabitants living in HBRA were higher than control.The subgroup analysis showed that,fortranslocation,the OR (95％ CI) were 1.24 (1.09-1.42,I2 =0.00) for male,1.37 (1.17-1.60,I2 =0.00) for female,1.17 (1.05-1.30,I2 =69.50％) for adults,and 1.38 (1.25-1.51,I2 =0.00) for Chinese.For unstable chromosome aberration,the OR (95％ CI) were 3.78 (2.40-5.97,I2 =0.00) for female,2.60 (2.25-3.00,I2 =69.60％) for adults,1.03(0.85-1.24,I2 =0.00) for children,3.19 (2.46-4.13,I2 =21.60％) for Iranian,and 1.64 (1.33-2.02,I2 =0.00) for Chinese.HBRA,age and sex differences were the reasons of above heterogeneity.Conclusions To the inhabitants living in HBRA,the frequencies of translocation and unstable chromosome aberration of peripheral blood lymphocytes are higher than those in control area.More comprehensive analysis should be performed to assess the health risk in HBRA inhabitants,which may arise new stragety in radiation protection.
