s:Objective To investigate the possible role of basic ifbroblast growth factor (bFGF) and transforming growth factorβ1 (TGF-β1) in mice with Coxsackie viral myocarditis and their relationship. Methods Eighty male BALB/c mice, 4 weeks old, were divided randomly into study group (n=40) and control group (n=40). The study group was repeated intraperitoneally injected with Coxasckie viral B3 to establish the model of viral myocarditis, while the control group was injected with virus-free Eagle’s medium in the same period. On the 7th, 14th, 28th and 42th day after the ifrst injection, 8 alive mice selected randomly from each group were sacriifced to examine the myocardial collagen volume fraction (CVF) by Masson dyeing, and to detect the protein and mRNA expression of bFGF and TGF-β1 by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. The correlations were analyzed. Results At each time point, the expressions of protein and mRNA of bFGF and TGF-β1 both in study group were signiifcantly higher than those in control group (P<0.01), and gradually increased over time. The expressions of protein and mRNA of bFGF and TGF-β1 were positively correlated with CVF (r=0.86~0.95, all P<0.01). In addition, the expressions of protein and mRNA of bFGF also had positive correlation with the expression of protein and mRNA of TGF-β1 (r=0.94, 0.92, P<0.01). Conclusion bFGF and TGF-β1 may promote the occurrence and development of myocardial ifbrosis in viral myocarditis, which may provide a new target for future treatment of myocardial ifbrosis.

Objective Study the inhibitory action of gastric H~+/K~+-ATPase by scopaparia dulcis,extractive from ethanol.Methods measure the gastric H~+/K~+-ATPase activity by animal test and inorganic phosphorus measurement method.Results chemical estimation shows the H~+/K~+-ATPase activity of experiment group is lower than that of control group,there is remarkable difference in statistics.Conclusion the scopaparia dulcis'extractive from ethanol can inhibit the rats' gastric H~+/K~+-ATPase activity.

The factors impacting the pregnancy rate and the live birth rate mainly include ovary function disorder and low endometrial receptivity, which can cause the difficulty in embryo implantation, early miscarriage and pregnancy failure. In recent years, researchers of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) have made active efforts in assisting IVF-ET, so as to achieve a great advance in improving the ovary reaction, treating the ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), improving the follicle, embryo quality and endometrial receptivity and protecting the fetus, which had been summarized in this article.

Objective To observe attenuation and synergy of postoperative chemotherapy combined with Tianzhicao capsule in patients who suffered from breast cancer. Methods 66 cases after radical mastectomy were randomly divided into treatment group 31 cases and 35 cases of control group. The patients of control group were treated with chemotherapies of CAF and TA. Treatment group patients were given Tianzhical capsule orally at the same time. Nausea and vomitting,the arrest of bone marrow before and after treatment were observed. The grade of life quality about every patient was evaluated. Results Myelosuppression and the occurrence of nausea and vomitting in treatment group was obviously lower than control group (P ＜ 0.05). The proportion of improvement and stabilization for the quality of life in treatment group was markedly higher than control group (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Traditional Chinese drug Tianzhicao capsule had attenuation and synergy to postoperative chemotherapy in breast cancer.

Objective To study the effects of lanthanum on cell multiplication and intracellular Ca2+([Ca2+]i) concentration in primary cultured astrocytes of rats.Methods The primary cultured astrocytes of rats were exposed to 0.25,0.5,1.0 and 2.0 mmol/L LaCl3 for 24 h and 48 h.The cell multiplication was measured by MTT;[Ca2+]i concentration was determined by the fluorescent Ca2+ indicator Fura-2/AM.Results After astrocytes were incubated with 0.25,0.5,1.0 and 2.0 mmol/L LaCl3 for 24 h and 48 h,the survival rate of astrocytes was 86.24% and 82.99%,82.26% and 79.14%,52.32% and 49.97%,38.04% and 35.15% respectively,which was significantly decreased compared with the control group(P

Objective To investigate the clinical effectiveness of procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids(PPH)in the treatment of outlet obstructive constipation caused by moderate and severe recto-cele. Methods A total of 48 patients with moderate or severe rectocele were treated with PPH. Patients were followed up for 4 ~ 6 months. The preoperative and postoperative parameters from rectoanal manome-try were compared and analyzed. Results After the surgery,patients had loose stool for 1 ~ 2 times a day. Sense of defecation obstruction in all patients was obviously improved. After the surgery,there were no significant changes in rectum resting pressure,anal resting pressure and various rectal sensitivity( P >0. 05). However,the decrease of inside rectal pressure and residual anal pressure were significantly re-duced(P < 0. 05). Conclusion The subjective defecation feeling of postoperative patients with PPH is unblock. Objective results of rectoanal manometry is clearly improved and the function of the rectum and anal canal is obviously restored.

Objective To study the role of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1),connective tissue growth factor (CTGF)and endothelin-1 (ET-1) in myocardial tissues of the mice with myocardial fibrosis induced by coxsachievirus B3 (CVB3) and the effect of Carvedilol intervention for it in acute stage and chronic phase of viral myocarditis.Methods Forty male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into 4 groups (10 cases in each group):control group,model group,Carvedilol acute phase intervention group,the chronic phase intervention group.Mice in model group and Carvedilol intervention groups were inoculated with CVB3 (100TCID50/0.1 mL) by peritoneal injection fortnightly.Mice in control group were given normal saline(NS) instead equivalently.Mice were poured Carvedilol (10 mg/kg per day for 2 weeks) from the second day in acute phase intervention group and from the fourth week in the chronic phase intervention group,while mice of control group and model group were poured with equivalent NS instead.At the end of 6 weeks,mice were sacrificed.Heart weight index (HWI) was determined.The collagen volume fraction (CVF) of left ventricular myocardial tissue were examined after Masson staining.Expressions of ET-1,TGF-β1 and CTGF were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and immunohistochemistry staining respectively; the mRNA expression was tested by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.Results Compared with the control group,HWI and CVF of model group increased significantly(all P ＜ 0.01),those of the intervention groups decreased than those of the model group(all P ＜ 0.01),and in the acute phase those of the intervention group were significantly lower than those in chronic phase intervention group(all P ＜ 0.05).The expressions of TGF-β1,CTGF,ET-1 and their mRNA in model group were increased significantly than those in the control group(all P ＜0.01),and were decreased in acute and the chronic phase intervention group than those in model group(all P ＜0.01),while those were significantly lower in acute phase intervention group than those in chronic phase intervention group (all P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions TGF-β1,CTGF and ET-1 may be involved in myocardial fibrosis induced by CVB3.Compared with the chronic phase intervention,the acute phase intervention of Carvedilol can reduce myocardial fibrosis more efficiently by down-regulating the excessive expression of inflammatory factors.

Objective To study on the effectiveness of endoscopic ultrasonography(EUS)in detec- ting insulinoma preoperatively.Methods Fifteen patients with clinical and biochemical signs of insulinoma were examined by EUS using a radial-scanning ultrasound endoscope and abdominal ultrasonography,CT, DSA prior to surgery.The outcome was evaluated on the basis of surgery and examination of the resected specimens.Results Fifteen patients with 16 lesions of insulinoma were identified by surgery and pathology. The aceuraey of diagnosis with EUS was 13/15(86.7%),and that with B-US,CT,DSA was 3/15(20%), 5/15(33.3%),9/14(64.3%)respectively.In the 14 lesions identified by EUS,10 lesions were depicted to be hypoechogenic,1 lesion was isoechogenic and 3 lesions were hyperechogenie.All 14 lesions were well demarcated and surrounded by normal pancreatic tissue.The minimum size of the lesion visualized by EUS was 0.5cm.Ten lesions were correctly detected by EUS with size of 0.5～2.0cm.EUS missed diagnosis in 2 lesions not for their small size.EUS falsely indicated a 10mm lesion from two lesions inside the head of pancreas.One lesion outside the pancreatic tail and one lesion in the pancreatic head were missed by EUS in another case.Conclusion EUS is superior in assessing the location of pancreatic insulinoma than other ima- ging methods such as B-US,CT,DSA.
