2.The Potential Impacts of Chemical Pollution of Cloth Textile on Human Health
Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(05):-
Most of pigments were made of aromatics extracted from cola tar. As early as 1895, aromatics were found to be carcinogenic. In 1974, ETAD had tested 50 more kinds of aromatics and found that 22 had carcinogenic role. In 1994, Germany revised the law of articles of everyday use and clearly stipulated that aromatics were prohibited to be used in production of cloth dye. Bayer had prohibited the use of 118 kinds of pigments such as aromatics, etc. In 1997, the number of prohibited pigments rose to 141. The AATCC in America plans to use environment-protecting pigments instead of aromatic pigments. In order to keep the status of great power in export textile, India had prohibited the use of 116 kinds of pigments and built a monitoring center.Internationally, the trader should show the customer a booklet of instructions indicating that the cloth does not have any pigments, which may be carcinogenic, allergenic or have hormone disrupting characteristics.

Objective:To investigate the role of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 in the progress that isometric exercise training improves arteriogenesis.Method:Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were used, weighing (200±20)g.The rats were randomized into control group (CG),myocardial ischemia group (MI),exercise training group (ET),MCP-1 inhibitor group (LG).There were 6 rats in each group.Rats were continuously administered 10mg/kg subcutaneously isoproterenol for successive 2 weeks to establish the myocardial ischemia model.Successfully modeled rats were in groups MI,ET and LG.Isometric exercise training were performed in group ET and LG.The rats in group LG were given MCP-1 inhibitor leflunomide by gavage. After 8 weeks of training, the left ventricular myocardium was extracted and relative collateral blood flow (RCBF) was measured by microspheres.Artery density (AD) and monocytes were measured by immunohistochemistry analysis.Western blot analysis and real-time quantitative PCR were performed to assay protein and mRNA of MCP-1.Result:RCBF and AD increased significantly in group ET as compared to the rest groups.RCBF and AD in group LG showed higher than that in group MI but not significant. The number of monocytes,MCP-1 mRNA and MCP-1 expression were significantly elevated in ischemic myocardium of group ET.Interestingly, the number of monocytes,MCP-1 mRNA and MCP-1 expression showed lower than that in group MI but also not significant. Conclusion:Eight weeks of isometric exercise training can increase the expression of MCP-1 in ischemic myocardium and promote the arteriogenesis.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(04):-
Objective To construct luciferase reporter plasmid containing synthetic CArG elements and to investigate their radiation-inducible property in tumor cells. Methods Insert chimeric regulation elements consisting of nine tandem-repeat copies of CArG sequence (CCATATAAGG) and CMV IE basal gene promoters into pGL3-Basic vectors to construct luciferase reporter plasmids. Tumor cells(HeLa, A549 and HepG2) were transiently transfected by reporter plasmids using lipofectamine, and transfected cells were irradiated by ?-ray with different doses. After 36 h, we assayed the level of reporter gene expression. Results The CArG elements could successfully induce the expression of a downstream reporter gene following irradiation, with maximal expression seen after 3 Gy irradiation. Conclusion The synthetic CArG elements are responsive to low dose of radiation and are able to enhance down-stream gene expression. It is expected to be the essential potential for future application of radiogenetic cancer therapy.

Objective To analyze the composition of hospital cost for total knee replacement (TKR)in recent years in order to improve the effectiveness of TKR,reduce its complications and extend the TKR more widely in China. Methods The data was obtained for primary unilateral TKA performed in2001,1998,1995compared with that performed in1992in Peking University People's Hospital. There were no postoperative complications and other surgical treatments during the hospitalization period. Results From1992through2001,prosthetic and physical therapy cost were predominantly increased214.2%and318.0%respectively in1998;219.8%and291.4%respectively in2001.The least cost was hospital room and blood transfusion fee.Among all the hospital costs in these four individual years, the most expensive was at-tributed to prosthesis cost, reached as54.7%,56.1%,56.0%and63.3%of total costs respectively. The influ-enced factors of the increasing hospital costs for TKR were as following:1)The using of imported knee im-plants increased in achieving better post-operative function of knee;2)The expensive imported antibiotic was widely used because of high drug-resistance due to the abuse of antibiotics;3)The anti-coagulative drugs on account of reducing the incidence of post-operative DVT was widely accepted;4)The emphasis on physical therapy was more considered. The possible factors of the decreasing hospital costs for TKR were using less expensive home-made antibiotics in short time just to prevent infections, reducing the length of hospital stay by enough preparation before operation, improving surgical technique and adopting preoperative blood salvage and re-transfusion to reduce the blood transfusion cost. Conclusion Through the analysis of total hospi tal cost of TKR in recent ten years, the prosthesis cost accounted for the most proportion, and the in crease of the hospital cost was attributed to prosthesis,anti-coagulative drugs, antibiotics and physical ther-apy.At same time, the average postoperative ROM of knee increased from93.6?to112.3?,and the in ci-dence of compli cations decreased from10.3%to5.3%.The better result of TKR,satisfactory knee function and the life quality of patient were obtained.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 1996;0(02):-
Objective To explore the necessity and models of developing community health services in rural areas. Methods Both quantitative and qualitative studies were conducted. Results Those who regarded developing community health services in rural areas as highly necessary accounted for 35% while those who regarded it as necessary accounted for 58% . The model of cooperation between township and village or between hospital and village was advocated for areas with an average income of 1 000 yuan and above; the model of combining the hospital with the health station or three "five in ones" was advocated for areas with an average income of 2 000 yuan and above; and the model of "three in one" was advocated for areas with an average income of 3 000 yuan and above. Conchusion There are many factors that influence the development of community health services in rural areas, but the models selected vary mainly because of the difference in income levels and the difference between various areas.
