1.The application of hedging in academic medical English papers
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2015;14(10):1012-1015
Hedging is an important component of vague language. This paper retrieves high frequency expressions of hedgingby using medical English corpus. Pragmatic functions of hedging are analyzed, which can be summarized as politeness principle, authors' self-protection, avoidance of the absolute, pursuit of objectiveness as well as conversational implication. To medical researchers, it is necessary to cultivate the awareness of hedging and learn how to adopt it in their research papers.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
Objective:To explore the clinical application of permanent needle of deep venipuncture in early management of extensive burn.Methods:88 patients with extensively burn are analyzed. Results:The success rate of venipuncture was 96%.The effect was satisfactory, while the complication was less. Conclusion:The permanent needle of deep venipuncture shows an important role in early management of extensive burn.
3.The analysis of the risk factors of the pulmonary fibrosis patients with pulmonary fungal infection
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2011;18(18):2485-2486
ObjectiveTo investigate the risk factors, prevention measures and treatment methods of the pulmonary fibrosis patients with nosocomial pulmonary fungal infection. Methods50 pulmonary fibrosis patients with nosocomial pulmonary fungal infection were chosen as the observation group. In the same time,50 pulmonary fibrosis patients without nosocomial pulmonary fungal infection were chosen as the control group. The following factors were compared: hospital stay, corticosteroid use, antibiotic use, invasive procedures, a merger of the underlying disease.ResultsThere were 46% (23/50) patients had long-term use of antibiotics in the observation group, much more than the control group(26% ,13/50) ,the difference was statistically significant( P <0.05) ;More than half of patients in both groups using glucocorticoids, the ratio in the observation group was 84% (42/50), which was significantly higher than the control group( P < 0.05) ; In the observation group, the rates of patients with long time hospitalization ( ≥30 days), received invasive procedures, and associated with underlying diseases were much higher than the control group( all P < 0.05). ConclusionMultiple risk factors could lead to the occurrence of pulmonary fibrosis patients with nosocomial pulmonary fungal infection, and the positive and effective preventions and standard treatment should be taken.
4.Progress of methotrexate combined with other drugs for treatment of primary central nervous system lymphoma
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2017;26(6):375-379
Primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) is a rare type of extranodal lymphoma, and its incidence rate is increasing nowadays. Chemotherapy is the main means for treatment of PCNSL and the efficacy of high-dose methotrexate (HD-MTX) has been confirmed among those chemotherapeutics. Treatments of HD-MTX combined with other drugs have been studied extensively. Progress of HD-MTX and other drugs for PCNSL are reviewed in this article.
7.VEGF mRNA expression in retinal neovascular tissue in rabbit eyes with retinal vein occlusion
Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2001;17(1):5-7
Objective To evaluate the possible role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the pathogenesis of retinal neovascularization resulting from retinal ischemia. Methods Retinal vein occlusion of rabbits model was established with argon laser photocoagulation to retinal vein. The VEGF mRNA expression was observed in ischemic retina and retinal neovascular tissue with in situ hybridization technique. Results VEGF mRNA expression was detected in inner ischemic retina and retinal neovascular tissue that were corespondent to the distribution of retinal ischemia. The strongest VEGF mRNA expression was detected in retinal neovascular tissue. Conclusion VEGF might play an important role in the pathogenesis of vascular proliferative retinopathy.
8.Medialization of the patella component in total knee arthroplasty in Chinese adults
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2001;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the effect of medialization of the patella component on patel-lar-femoral track and clinic result in patellar resurfacing arthroplasty in Chinese adults. Methods From September2001to March2002,patellar-femoral track of medialized patella component in total75consecu-tive total knee arthroplasties were checked with"no thumb test"sign during patellar resurfacing as well as af-ter patellar resurfacing. The patients consisted of 8males(14knees)and40females(61knees).The average age of the patients was66.2years old(ranging from62to79years old). The preoperative diagnosis of the knees were osteoarthritis96%,rheumatoid arthritis4%.There were65varus knees,9nomal knees and1val-gus knee.Eight knees had patellar subluxation or bad patellar-femoral track before arthroplasty. Results Patellar-femoral track were checked with"no thumb test"sign after putting femoral and tibial tray before patellar resurfacing,69of 75knees could reach"no thumb test".After resurfacing and medialization of patella com ponent by2to5mm,all69knees could still reach"no thumb test".But 6knees were ineffectual. After resur facing and medialization of patella component by4to8mm,5of the6knees could reach"no thumb test",the remained one reached"no thumb test"and was of 15?valgus after lateral release.Average flexion of total75knees was108.6?(from90?to115?)two weeks after operation, and increased to116.5?(from95?to125?)after an average follow-up of 15months,ranging from12to18months.No case had patellar fracture insta bility and patellar subluxation. Conclusion Medialization of the patella component in total knee arthro plasty can improve patellar-femoral track, reduce requirement of release of patellar lateral retinac-ulum,decrease patellar-femoral joint complication and increase survival ship of prosthesis.
9.Effects of nanoparticles to bone cells and potential applications in orthopedics
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;36(4):235-238
Biomaterials are commonly applied in regenerative therapy and tissue engineering in bone.Generally, nanoparticles interact distinctively with bone cells and tissue, depending on their com-position,size,and shape. Therefore, detailed analyses of nanoparticle effects on cellular functions have been performed to select the most suitable candidates for supporting bone regeneration. This review will highlight potential nanoparticle applications in bone.We found that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) display exceptional regenerative potential. The delivery of genetic material with nanoparticulate carriers offers the possibility of overcoming certain disadvantages of standard protein delivery approaches. Moreover, nanoparticles are already clinically applied in cancer treatment. Thus, corresponding efforts could lead to new therapeutic strategies to improve bone regeneration or to treat bone disorders.
10.Treatment of chloasma from liver
International Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2013;35(11):1000-1001
Through tracing literatures of TCM theories, this article discussed the theoretical basis for treating chloasma from liver.60 female chloasma patients were selected and treated with traditional Chinese medicine of dispersing the depressed liver qi.By observing the score of SDS and SAS,we analyzed the influence of emotion on female chloasma, and the effectiveness of treating chloasma from liver. The article believed that paying attention to regulate the whole body condition will exert a treating at fundamental causeof the disease.
