Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 1993;0(02):-
Objective Secondary metabolites of the soft coral were studied to find out the lead compound of the drugs. Methods Compounds from the soft coral Sinularia papillosa were obtained by column chromatography and modern isolation methods and their structures were identified by spectrum of UV,IR,NMR,MS,et al. Results Two white amorphous compounds were obtained from the EtOAc (ethyl acetate) fraction,and their structures were identified as pregn-5,20 -dien-3?-ol-3-O-?-L-fucopyranoside (1) and 1-(17Z-tetracose-nyloxy)-1,2 -propanediol (2) by spectral analysis. Conclusion Two compounds are first isolated from the soft coral genus Sinularia,which will be beneficial for the taxonomy of the soft coral and for biogenesis of steroids.

Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
Objective To study the cytochemical changes of hepatocytes in mice exposed to hypoxia. Methods The mice were divided into two groups(n=45, all males, hypoxia group=36, control group=9). The mice of the hypoxia group lived in hypoxia (O 2:10%). Using imaging analytical instrument LEICA-500IW, We observed cytochemical changes of the hepatocytes. The PAS, LDH, cytochrome oxidase, Mg 2+ dependent ATPase activity of hepatocytes was assayed. Results Compared with the controls, the LDH activity of hepatocytes increased dramatically, the longer the hypoxic time, the higher the LDH activity of the hepatocytes; the cytochrome oxidase activity of hepatocytes decreased sharply, the longer the hypoxic time, the lower the cytochrome oxidase activity of the hepotocytes.Conclusion Hypoxia can injury the hepatocytes of the mice and result in sharp changes of the hepatic cytochemistry.;

Four organic compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate soluble fraction of the marine sponge Clathria fasciculate which collected from the South China Sea. Their structures were determined by GC-MS, FAB, IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and COSY spectra as: clolest-4-en-3-one(Ⅰ). stigmast-4-en-3-one(Ⅱ). (Z)-17-tetracosene-l-ol(Ⅲ) and3-(17Z-tetracosenyloxy)-1 , 2-propanediol(Ⅳ). It's the second report of the first serial studies of the chemical constituents of the marine sponge Clathria fasciculate.

Chinese Journal of Analytical Chemistry 2001;29(2):168-170
Two compositions, a sterol mixture and a pure ceramide, were isolated from the extract of a tunicate,Styela.canopus, collected from the Dayawan Bay, Guangdong. The sterols were detected by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, and their structure was confimed by spectroscopic analysis. The ceramide was identified by spectroscopic analysis. The contents of sterols and the ceramide in the extract were 12% and 0.3% respectively.This was also the first report about the chemical constituents of Sytela. canopus.

Objective To investigate the effect of hyperthermic intraperitoneal perfusion and cisplatinon apoptosis in human ovarian cancer cells.Methods Two human ovarian cancer cells (OVCAR-3,A2780) were divided into control group,cisplatin group,hyperthermia group and thermo-chemotherapy group;microscopy was used to observe the morphological changes of the four groups;AO/GV stain and flow cytometry(FCM) was used to analyze cell apoptosis;Apoptosis related genes caspase7,caspase8 and Bax in ovarian cancer cells were detected by fluorescence quantitative PCR.Results Inverted microscopy observeed that the ovarian cancer cells retracted and suspended partially in the cisplatin group and hyperthermia group,especially in the thermo-chemotherapy group.After AO/GV staining,the apoptotic cells were increased in the cisplatin group and hyperthermia group compared with the control group,and the thermo-chemotherapy group was more than cisplatin group and hyperthermia group.FCM results indicated that the proportion of cells apoptosis were higher in the cisplatin group and hyperthermiagroup,the thermo-chemotherapy group is the higher than the all other groups(P<0.05).q-PCR results showed that in the thermo-treatment group the expression of pro-apoptotic genes,including caspase3,caspase6,caspase7,caspase8,caspase9,Bax,Bak and Bid,was significantly higher than other groups,apoptosis inhibitory gennes,such as Bcl-2,Bcl-xL,Mcl-1,c-FLIP,was significantly decreased than the others.Conclusions Cisplatin plus hyperthermia can promote the apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2010;35(8):1004-1008
Chemical constituents of a new species of Spongia sponge collected from Sanya bay in Hainan province, were analyzed. Nine secondary metabolites 1-9 were isolated. On the basis of their spectroscopic data and chemical degradation, their chemical structures were determined as palmitoyl-heptacosane-1, 3, 5-triol (1), stigmast-4-en-3beta, 6beta-diol (2),2,3-dihydroxypropanyl hentetracosanate (3), sitosterol (4), thymine (5), gorgosterol (6), batyl alcohol (7), uracil (8) and thymidine (9). Palmitoyl-heptacosane-1, 3, 5-triol (1) is a new compound.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2023;32(5):426-430
Objective:To evaluate the fetal adrenal gland volume (AGV) and corrected adrenal gland volume (cAGV) in intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) fetuses and observe their associations with the adverse perinatal outcomes.Methods:From February 2021 to August 2022, 32 IUGR fetuses who underwent fetal ultrasound examination in the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University were prospectively selected as the IUGR group, and 32 normal fetuses matched for gestational age during the same period were selected as the control group. Three-dimensional ultrasound was used to obtain fetal adrenal volume images, and the virtual organ computer-aided analysis (VOCAL) was used to measure AGV, then the cAGV was calculated. The values of AGV and cAGV were appropriately compared between the IUGR and the control groups. The pregnancy outcomes were noted. Multiple logistic regression analysis was employed to evaluate the relationship between the cAGV and adverse perinatal outcomes in IUGR fetus, with maternal age and the CPR included as covariates to control for confounding factors.Results:A total of 32 fetuses with IUGR and 32 controls were involved in this prospective study. There was no significant difference in the AGV between these two groups ( P=0.417). The cAGV of the IUGR fetus was substantially larger than that of the normal fetus ( P=0.034). In the multivariate logistic regression analysis, after adjusting for maternal age and fetal CPR, the fetal cAGV was noticeably associated with the fetal distress (adjusted OR=0.005, 95% CI=0.000-0.587, P=0.029) and the total adverse perinatal outcomes (adjusted OR=0.014, 95% CI=0.000-0.475, P=0.018). Conclusions:The value of cAGV is increased in the IUGR fetuses and associated with adverse perinatal outcomes. The evaluation of fetal AGV could be beneficial to monitoring and managing IUGR fetuses.
