The experimental right cerebral contusion model was established in rats.To observe the relationship between the expression of Nitric oxide synthase 1(NOS1)and time elapsed after cerebral contusion, the expression of Nitric oxide synthase 1(NOS1)and mRNA was studied by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization at different intervals after cerebral injury. The results indicated that a positive relationship existed between the expression of NOS1 and NOS1 mRNA and the intervals elapsed after brain injury. This method also can be used to distinguish antemortem and postmortem injury rat′s cerebral contusion. So that, the expression of NOS1 and NOS1 mRNA is of great value for timing of brain injury.

AIM: To investigate the expression of the nephrin in podocyte of the diabetic nephropathy(DN) rats and the mechanism of irbesartan-induced renal protection.METHODS: The DN model was established by a single injection of streptozotocin(STZ),and DN rats were randomly divided into 2 groups: model group and irbesartan treatment group. In addition, the normal rats served as a normal control group. All the rats were received daily gavage respectively for 8 weeks. The urinary protein quality in 24 hours, body weight(BW),kidney weight (KW),KW/BW,glucemia,urea nitrogen, creatinine, total cholesterol, triacylglycerol were detected with correlative methods and the pathological changes of kidney were also detected with optic microscope and transmission electron microscope. The expression of nephrin in podocyte were detected by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: In DN rats, irbesartan reduced the urinary protein quality in 24 hours (P

Objective To observe the learning and memory changes in coal-burning type of fluorosis rats, detect the expressions of neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor(nAChR) at mRNA and protein levels in rat brains and to reveal the mechanism of changed learning and memory ability. Methods Twenty-four healthy SD rats, weighting 100 - 120 g, were randomly divided into three groups(8 in each). Control group was fed with normal diet, and low- and high-dose fluoride groups were fed with corn polluted with high fluoride (fluoride were 11.30,104.20 mg/kg, respectively) during drying processes with local burning-coal from the areas of endemic fluorosis to established rat model of chronic fluorosis. After exposed to fluoride for 6 months, behavioral changes were measured by Morris water maze. Animals were sacrificed, the brain was taken, after homogenizing the fluoride content of brain tissue was determined by fluoride ion selective electrode. The α3, α4 and α7 nAChR subunits at mRNA and protein levels were analyzed by real-time PCR and Western blotting, respectively. Results For rats in low- and high-fluoride groups, the escape latency time[(12.42 ± 8.03),(17.48 ± 8.05)s] was significantly longer than that in the control[(7.04 ± 3.29)s, all P< 0.05]. For rats in high-fluoride group, the numbers of crossing the platforms (1.62 ± 0.87) and the time of staying at the platforms[(16.70 ± 5.02)s] were significantly decreased as compared to that of control[3.53 ± 1.67, (23.33 ± 5.35)s, all P < 0.05]. The fluoride content in rat brain tissue in low- or high-fluoride groups [(1.14 ± 0.04), (1.79 ± 0.04)mg/kg] was significantly higher than that of control [ (0.52 ± 0.05) mg/kg, all P < 0.05]; in addition, the amount of fluoride in brain tissue of high-fluoride group was significantly higher than that of low-fluoride group(P < 0.05). In high-fluoride group, the mRNA expressions of α3, α4 and α7 nAChR subunits in rat brains(1.51 ± 0.20,1.45 ± 0.06,1.63 ± 0.08) were significantly lower as compared to controls (1.79 ± 0.11,1.66 ± 0.14,1.83 ± 0.06, all P< 0.05); whereas there were no significant changes in mRNA levels of these receptor subunits of the rat brains between low-fluoride group(1.65 ± 0.17,1.59 ± 0.09,1.71 ± 0.03) and controls (all P > 0.05). Furthermore, the protein levels of α3, α4 and α7 nAChR subunits in rat brains of highfluoride group(0.58 ± 0.13,0.16 ± 0.03,1.41 ± 0.38) and low-fluoride group(0.56 ± 0.23,0.08 ± 0.02,0.51 ± 0.16) were significantly lower than those of controls( 1.48 ± 0.42,0.57 ± 0.21,2.56 ± 0.26, P<0.05 or < 0.01). Conclusions Decreased ability of learning and memory in coal-burning type of fluorosis rats may be associated with declined expressions of nAChR at proteins and mRNA levels, which might be the main mechanism of the behavior change.

Traditional right ventricular pacing is non-physiological pacing, can lead to ventricular electrical and mechanical dyssynchmnization, which increases the risk of heart failure and atrial fibrillation. His-Purkinje system pacing is the hot research of physiological pacing method. The high thresholds and difficult implantation of his bundle pacing limits its application and popularization. In recent years, domestic scholars have proposed left bundle branch area pacing. Many studies have confirmed the safety and feasibility of left bundle branch area pacing. Left bundle branch pacing transmit down the conduction system, which can effectively achieve ventricular electrical and mechanical synchrony, At the same time, it also has many others advantages, such as good and stable electrical parameters, significantly improved cardiac function, and pacing across blocked parts. It will become the main development direction of physiological pacing in the future. This article aims to review the origin, standard and classification, advantages and limitations of left bundle branch area pacing.

Objective To observe characters of sputum of patients with tracheotomy by heat and moisture exchanger(HEM)undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy(HBOT)in multi-person chamber. Methods In randomly block design,239 patients were selected and received HBOT using HEM combined with L-shape tube(group HEM,n=128)and by L-shape tube(group L,n=111)respectively.The characters and volume of sputum, times of sucking sputum and cases of sealing/extubation of tubes were assessed over first and tenth sessions of HBOT.Results The times of sucking and volume of sputum over first session of HBOT in the group HEM were more than those in group L.The sputum was changing from ropiness over first session to tenuity over tenth sesion(P<0.01).Cases with sealing/extubation of tubes in group HEM were more than those of group L(P<0.01).Conclusions It is helpful to humidify and discharge deposited sputum of patients over routine hyperbaric oxygen by HEM.And the case8 of sealing/extubation of tubes are also reduced.

Objective To discuss the incidence and risk factors of pressure ulcer in surgical patients of our hospital. Methods Totally 10 737 surgical patients were recruited. The patients were assessed by the Braden Scale. The incidence of pressure ulcer in patients with the Braden score lower than 18 was recorded.Besides, the data of patients with pressure ulcers on admission were also collected. All risk factors in patients with pressure ulcer were ana-lyzed.Results The incidence rate of pressure ulcer in surgical patients was 0.54%.The incidence of pressure ulcer was highest in department of Neurosurgery(1.46%),followed by the department of Orthopedics(0.61%),which was significantly higher than other departments, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Single factor analy-sis indicated that age, smoking, nutrition, diabetes, paralysis, and large, urinary incontinence, consciousness, operation situation, serum albumin, use of analgesics, presence of caregivers contributed to pressure ulcer, the difference was sta-tistically significant(P <0.05).Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that age,diabetes,paralysis,con-sciousness,albumin levels, use of analgesic, presence of caregivers were independent risk factors of pressure ulcers in patients. Conclusion There are many factors affecting the incidence of pressure ulcer, while age, diabetes, paralysis, consciousness, albumin levels, use of analgesic, presence of caregivers are independent risk factors of pressure ulcers.
