1.Some remarks on the quality of malaria parasite examination in Thanh Hoa province in 2002
Journal of Malaria and parasite diseases Control 2003;0(1):60-63
In 2002, 99.807 blood slides were taken and examined in Thanh Hoa province, of which 33.464 slides were taken from fever patients (33.52%). 196 positive cases were detected. 52 microscopic points were checked, of which 10 microscopic points were very good functioning (19.23%), 27 points were good (59.9%), 12 were average and 3 were not good (5.76%). The quality of slides taken by the commune and village health workers was not so good, the slides were too thick or too thin with blood. In some villages, the slides were taken massively in order to fulfill the target. Checking the quality of microscopy showed that the mistake rate of microscopy was 13.16% as compared with the total slides sent for rechecking. In some microscopic points, the mistake rate was high (the provincial hospital had the mistake of 6/19 positive slides)

2.Hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage: the role of surgery
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2003;7(1):46-53
From March 1997 – September 2002, study on 31 patients intracerebral hemorrhage (28 male, 3 female) and 16 patients of control group (14 male, 2 female). The mortality of surgical treatment group was 32% and control group was 56%. Most of the benefit was in patients with lobar hemorrhage and following criteria: volume of hematoma 60cc, age 70, GCS 8. These is some suggestion that in the next future the treatment of intracerebral hemorrhage will involve non-invasive, stereotactic aspiration of hemorrhage through a single burr hole within hours

4.Homocysteine in cerebrovascular disease
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2002;271(4):9-13
Over the last decade there is strong evidence indicating that hyperhomocysteinemia appears to be an important risk factor for vascular diseases, including cerebrovascular disease and myocardial infarction. Several multicenter-randomized trials have demonstrated that it is independent to other well known risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia and smoking. Given the intense interest of our community concerning the prevention of cerebrovascular diseases we begin to measure homocysteinemia with a simple and accurate technique. The first results of our study raise the exciting possibility that homocysteinemia levels can be normalized by an inexpensive, well tolerated therapy with folate, pyridoxine hydrochloride and cyanocobalamin.

The relations of the patient's age, syndrome type and course of disease to the therapeutic effect were investigated. Results: Among the treated 92 cases, marked effectiveness occurred in 68, effectiveness in 16 and ineffectiveness in 8, with a total effective rate of 91.3%. The therapeutic effect was not good in the patients who belonged to dry heat in lung meridian type and had the course of disease for more than 20 years. Conclusion: A combination of acupuncture and medicine has an exact therapeutic effect on allergic rhinitis.
8.K-space undersampling algorithm based on PROPELLER MRI technique.
Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2009;33(1):23-26
PROPELLER (periodically rotated overlapping parallel lines with enhanced reconstruction) is a new method of MRI data collection and reconstruction technique for reducing motion artifact. However, the minimum imaging time in PROPELLER is markedly longer than in conventional fast MRI. Through the current research of K-Space Undersampling algorithm based on PROPELLER technique, a proper undersampling method is conducted and then proved by simulation. The new data collection method can shorten the PROPELLER time without causing more image artifacts, which improves the value of PROPELLER technique.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(15):2351-2356
BACKGROUND:Human umbilical vein endothelial cells transfected with lentivirus containing enhanced green fluorescent protein can be easily traced. The optimal multiplicity of infection and time for producing strong fluorescence intensity can lay the foundation of tracing human umbilical vein endothelial cells in animal models.
OBJECTIVE:To observe expression of lentivirus containing enhanced green fluorescent protein in human umbilical vein endothelial cells, and thereby to find a stable method to label human umbilical vein endothelial cells.
METHODS:Using 0.1%col agenase perfusion digestion, we isolated human umbilical vein endothelial cells, which then were placed into a culture medium containing 20%fetal bovine serum and endothelial cellgrowth factor and observed under an inverted microscope. Fol owing digestion, centrifugation and suspension, the cells were counted and divided into four groups, 5.0×105 cells in each group. After cells were seededonto 24-wel plates, 10μL serum-free Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium was added into the blank group, and lentiviruses containing enhanced green fluorescent protein were added into another three groups for celltransfection respectively at multiplicities of infection of 2, 3, 4. There were three dishes in each group.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:After cultured for 5-7 days, isolated cells grew into a single layer and exhibited a cobblestone-like arrangement under a light microscope. In addition, factor VIII related antigen test was positive. A green fluorescence was visible at 24 hours of transfection, and peaked at 72 hours. Transfection efficiency was in a linear growth with the multiplicity of infection. Up to the 21st day of transfection, the green fluorescence was stil visible. After 0, 7, 14, 21 days of transfection, the number of human umbilical vein endothelial cells showed no difference between the transfection group with the multiplicity of infection=3 and blank group, suggesting the proliferative ability of cells has no changes after transfection with lentivirus containing enhanced green fluorescent protein. These findings indicate that the lentivirus containing enhanced green fluorescent protein can highly transfect human umbilical vein endothelial cells, and green fluorescent protein can sustainably express for 21 days but cannot impact the cellproliferation.

Aim: Clone and characterize of the 5′- flanking region of the nitrate reductase (NR) gene derived from Dunaliella salina(D. salina). Methods : The genomic DNA from D. salina was respectively digested with BamHI, EcoRI, HindIII, Pst I, Sal I and Xba I. A genomic walking cassette was ligated to the ends of the digested DNA fragments, and then genomic walking libraries comprising BL, EL, HL, PL, SL and XL were constsucted. The 5′- flanking region of the NR gene from genomic walking libraries of D. salina was amplified by LA-PCR. The DNA sequences were analyzed with the software - Promoter Predictions. Isolated 5′-flanking regions fused to the GUS gene were tested for transient expression in the alga. Results: A single specific PCR product of about 1200bp in length from the HL library was generated. Also, several conserved motifs, such as CAAT-box, GAGA-box were found, which are related to regulation of transcription, and the putative binding sites of transcriptional factors such as EBP, EFII, NF-E1 and LV. BLAST showed that the DNA sequences shared high homology with 5′-upstream region of the NR gene from Dunaliella viridis. The isolated 5′-flanking regions were able to strongly drive GUS reporter gene expression, suggesting that it contains the promoter elements necessary for the transcription of the NR gene. The expression pattern of the GUS gene and the NR gene were similar, both ware induced by nitrate and repressed by ammonium. Conclusion: The cloned 5′- flanking sequences of NR gene derived from D. salina might be a specific promoter with the ability to“switch on or off” an expression of the heterologous gene in transgenic D. salina.
