This article was aimed to carry a comparative study on the quality of 16 populations of wild herbs of rare and endangered plant ofPsammosilene tunicoidesin order to provide a basis for its domestication, GAP and selective breeding. Methods for determination of moisture content, total ash and extract content were taken in this comparative study. The results showed that different populations had different moisture content, total ash and extract content. The moisture content and the total ash ofXiang-Shan population were the lowest; and the extract content was the highest. The total ash ofLiu-De population was the highest; and the extract content was the lowest. The moisture content ofShun-Zhou population was the highest. It was concluded that different populations had different quality among 16 populations of wild herbs. Therefore, there was a probability to choose the best population.

To solve the problem of aseptic loosening of hip joint prosthesis after THR (total hip replacement) and to meet the requirement of individual endoprosthesis for rapid automatic design and manufacture, a new method is presented. According to the anatomical shape of the patient's femoral marrow cavity and the replacement requirement, the hip joint prosthesis is designed via the combination of medical CT technique, computer aided design and finite element analysis. During analysis of the endoprosthesis, the 3-D finite element model of the femur is structured by finite element software ANSYS, the near true femoral material parameters are gained, the quantitative description of femoral material's anisotropy and inhomogeneity is realized by self-developed specific software in the 3-D finite element model of femur. Contact analyses of the customized hip endoprosthesis--femur system are simulated by ANSYS, stress, strain and their distribution are analyzed and contrasted before and after-operation under the action of physiological load in the system. It is feasible to checkout the rationality of the design by comparing the stress distribution in the femur with the situation before replacement, the extent of stress-shielding caused by the replacement is determined quantificationally. The results reveal that the method is more reasonable and reliable and can provide basic means for optimizing the design of custom-made hip prostheses and for evaluating the long-term stability of endoprosthesis after operation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the statement on randomized controlled trials on Wenxin granule for treatment of atrial fibrillation and to judge whether those trials could offer high quality evidence or not, thus improve design level and quality.
METHODRCTs were searched from home and abroad about atrial fibrillation treated with Wenxin granule, which reported before October, 2010. Jadad scale and CONSORT statement were used.
RESULTThere were 66 RCTs retrieved that met inclusion criteria. Using Jadad rating scale, only 2 literatures gain score 4 and 1 literature gains score 3, 54 literatures gain score 2, 7 literatures gain score 1, 2 literatures gain score 0. Only 2 literatures described random number table as the method of grouping. None of the RCTs was reported the allocation concealment. Only 1 literature was used blinding. Fifty-nine literatures were mentioned the lost to follow-up conditions. According to the CONSORT standards, only six literatures (9.1%) mentioned the method of generating the random sequence. Four literatures (6.1%) were quasi-random. Nineteen literatures (28.8%) had inclusion criteria. Six literatures (9.1%) had the follow-up record. Fifty one literatures (77.3%) described the adverse events. None had the estimation of the sample size, intention-to-treat analysis and stratified analysis. None had the ethical approval or informed consent.
CONCLUSIONThe quality of clinical trials of Wenxin granule in treating atrial fibrillation needs to be improved.
