Objective: To study the influence of gallic acid (GA) on the migration of human gastric carcinoma SGC-7901 cells, and to explore its mechanism. Methods: The human gastric carcinoma SGC-7901 cells were cultured and divided into control group and 3.125, 6.250, 12.500, 25.000, 50.000,100.000 mg·L-1 GA groups. The inhibitory rates of proliferation of SGC-7901 cells in various groups were examined by MTT assay;the migration abilities of SGC-7901 cells in various groups were measured with scratch assay;the expression levels of vascular of endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in various groups were detected by immunocytochemistry. Results: Compared with control group, the inhibitory rates of proliferation of SGC-7901 cells in different doses of GA groups were significantly increased in a dose-dependent manner(F=59.451,P<0.01).Compared with control group, the wound healing rates in different doses of GA groups were significantly decreased (P<0.01).Compared with control group, the expression levels of VEGF protein in 12.500 and 25.000 mg· L-1 GA groups were decreased (P<0.05).Conclusion: GA could inhibit the proliferation and migration of SGC-7901 cells through down-regulating the expression levels of VEGF protein.

Objective: To learn the disease entities and medical costs of the patients admitted in the Pediatric Department of a general hospital. Methods: We collected from the Hospital Information System(HIS) the related data of the patients admitted in the Department of Pediatrics from October 2001 to October 2007 and analyzed the patients' main types of diseases and medical expenditure. Results: Among the total number of 8 062 patients, diseases of the genitourinary, respiratory and digestive systems and of blood and hematogenic organs accounted for 47.82%,36.78%,4.22% and 3.16%,ranking as the first 4 disease entities. The per patient medical costs in the first 4 places were those of the diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissues($6 368),tumors($5 845),diseases of the genitourinary system($5 818) and congenial anomalies($5 469).Conclusion: The largest number of patients were those with genitourinary system diseases, and the highest medical costs per patient were those of the diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissues in the Department of Pediatrics.

Objective: To study the effects of the alcohol extract of Loulu (AEL) on the ability of learning and memory in mice and on the activity of cholinesterase in brain and whole blood. Methods: In order to establish the effect of the alcohol ectract of Loulu on the ability of learning and membory in mice, the methods of one trial passive avoidance response(step down test) were used. Results: The AEL could antagonize the acquisition impairment of memory induced by scopolamine (SCPL) and the consolidation disruption of memory elicited by cycloheximide (CYC), inhibit the activity of cholinesterase in brain and whole blood. Conclusion: The improving effect of the AEL on the ability of learning and memory might be related with its effect of improving function of the central cholinesterase system.

【Objective】 To explore the prognostic impact and clinical application value of therapeutic plasma exchange(TPE) intervention timing and liver injury periodization in patients with exertional heat stroke(EHS). 【Methods】 Data of 127 EHS patients from the First Medical Center of the General Hospital of the People′s Liberation Army from January 2011 to December 2023 were collected, then divided into the death group and the survival group based on therapeutic outcomes and into 5 stages according to the dynamic changes of ALT, AST, TBIL and DBIL. According to propensity score matching analysis, 11 patients in the survival group and 12 patients in the death group were included in the statistical analysis, and 20 of them were treated with TPE. The changes in indicators and clinical outcomes before and after TPE were observed, in order to evaluate the impact of intervention timing on prognosis. 【Results】 Among the 23 patients, 14 had no liver injury or could progress to the repair phase, resulting in 3 deaths(with the mortality rate of 21.43%), while 9 patients failed to progress to the repair phase, resulting in 9 deaths(with the mortality rate of 100%), with significant differences(P<0.05). The mortality rate of the first TPE intervention before the third stage of liver injury was 23.08%(3/13), while that of intervention after reaching or exceeding the third stage was 85.71%(6/7), and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 TPE should be executed actively in EHS patients combined with liver injury before the third phase to lock its pathological and physiological processes, thereby improving prognosis and reducing mortality.
