1.Extraction of anti-thrombotic contituent from Earthworm (Pheretima)

AIM: To investigate the extraction of anti-thrombotic contituent from Earthworm ( Pheretima). METHODS: The prothrombin time (PT)of rabbit blood and antithrombin of 14 samples that were extracted by different methods were determined in vitro. RESULTS: The sample that was percolated with 70% alcohol and the sample that was extracted by semi-bionic method were better than ones that were extracted by other methods. CONCLUSION: It is a simple and practicable method to percolate Earthworm with 70% alcohol.
2.Invasion ability and collagenolytic activity of human glioma cells in vitro

Objective To investigate the invasion ability and collagenolytic activity of human glioma cells in vitro.Methods Boyden chamber invasion assay was employed to evaluate the cell migration ability of human malignant glioma cell line U87MG in vitro and the effect of conditioned medium of U87MG cells on matrix collagenolytic activity was tested by agar-gelatin gel.Results The number of U87MG glioma cells migrating through the Matrigel-coated membrane was more than that of addition of EDTA or anti-MMP-2 antibody in U87MG glioma cells(P0.05).EDTA or anti-MMP-2 antibody markedly inhibited the number of the migrated cells,the inhibitory rates were 79.2% and 77.1%,respectively. The conditioned medium collected from the U87MG cells showed an increase in the transparent ring area on agar-gelatin gel.Inhibition of MMP-2 enzymatic activity by EDTA or anti-MMP-2 antibody reduced the transparent ring area on agar-gelatin gel.Conclusion Both invasion ability and collagenolytic activity of U87MG cells are depended on MMP-2,suggesting that MMP-2 plays an important role in glioma invasiveness.
3.Significance of SF-36 Scale as Main Content of Life Quality Assessment in Efficacy Evaluation System of TCM Treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis

SF-36 scale has been widely accepted because of its objectivity and scientificity. However, until now its application in TCM treatment for rheumatoid arthritis is not common. This article discussed the significance of SF-36 scale as the main content of life quality assessment in the efficacy evaluation system of TCM treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, which can provide certain references for the promotion of the application in this field.
4.Nosocomial Infection Risk Factors and Preventive Strategies in Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Laboratory

OBJECTIVE To discuss the nosocomial infection risk factors and preventive strategies in human assisted reproductive technology(ART)laboratory.METHODS The nosocomial infection risk factors in ART laboratory were analyzed,and the corresponding measures were set up.RESULTS In ART laboratory,there were nosocomial infection risk factors existing in management system,preventive process,condition of laboratory,technical program and garbage management.Corresponding measures were established to control the risk of nosocomial infection.CONCLUSIONS The nosocomial infection in ART laboratory can effectively be prevented through establishment of perfect control system,strict operation of the rules and improving technical programs.
5.Recent progress in weight reduction mechanism of inhibitor of fatty acid synthase

Fatty acid synthase is the key enzyme which catalyzes the de novo synthesis of long-chain fatty acids from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA.Only recently has it been appreciated that C75,the inhibitor of fatty acid synthase can make mice lose weight via reducing food intake and increasing energy consumption.The present paper reviews the potential mechanism by which the inhibitor of fatty acid synthase may influence the expression of hypothalamic neuropeptides mediating the behaviour of food intake in central nervous system and decrease adipose sediment or increase energy production.
6.Relationship of Life Events and Internet Use in Junior High School Students

Objective:To explore the relationship of life events and internet use in junior high school students.Methods:123 7th grade students were asked to complete the Chinese Adolescent Life Events Checklist,Internet Service Preference Questionnaire for Adolescence and Adolescent Pathological Internet Use Scale.Results:Students' life events scores were lower than the norm significantly;Junior high school students' life events positively correlate with pathological internet use,as well as with salience,tolerance,compulsion symptoms,social comfort,and negative outcomes subscales;Internet service preference closely correlates with pathological internet use;Subjective stress,social preference of internet can predict pathological internet use significantly.Conclusion:Pathological internet use is closely related to life events and social service.
7.Research Progress on Reproductive Disturbance of Men Induced by Persistent Organochlorine Pollutants

The recent studies have shown a significant relationship between persistent organichorine pollutants(POCPs) and semen quality. The biological characters and source of POCPs, the effect mechanisms of POCPs on semen quality, sperm structure and function were reviewed in this paper. The epidemiological evidences for the reproductive disturbance of men caused by POCPs were discussed and the research direction in the future was pointed out.
8.LOCALIZATION AND QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF NKA IN THE ILEUM OF RATS

Objective To explore the expression and change on the neurokinin A(NKA) of rat ileum during the development. Methods PAP immunohistochemistry method and image analysis were used to detect systematically the expression of NKA in rat ileum from E13 to adult stage. Results 1.In rat ileum, the NKA-IR could first be found in the myenteric plexus at E17, and then appeared on the longitudinal muscle layer, circular muscle layer, intestinal villus, intestinal gland, submucosa and deep muscular plexus. On P30, they showed the distribution feature of adult rat.2.The results of quantitative analysis were in correspondence with the developmental change of NKA-IR in ileum.3.The NKA-IR positive cells showed the typical feature of morphology and distribution of gastrointestinal endocrine cells.Conclusion 1. The ontogeny and development of NKA in rat ileum mainly appeare in the last E1 week and P4 weeks, whereas the density of positive fiber in villus is not as same as adulthood until P60. 2.There are two key periods during the development of NKA in rat ileum. The first crucial stage is from the last El week to P1 week. The second important stage is in the end of P4 weeks. 3.The NKA-IR cells may be the endocrine cell which produces NKA in rat digestive tract.4.NKA may play an important role in the development and physiological function of rat ileum.
9.Posterior occipitocervical fixation using plate-rod-polyaxial screw system

[Objective]To report the initial outcomes of occipitocervical fixation using plate-rod-polyaxial screw system and investigate whether this new system offers any advantage over other existing methods of fixation.[Method]Fourteen cases(male 9,female 5)accepted cervicooccipital fixation with plate-rod-polyaxial screw system.There were 3 cases of odontoid dysplasia with dislocation;spinal canal tumor in 3;2 cases of metastatic carcinoma with pathologic fracture of C_1 and C_2,rheumatoid arthritis with cervicooccipital instability,and fasilar impression;burst fracture of C_1 with oecipital-atlantal-axial instability in 1.Twelve cases had neck pain.Thirteen cases had neurological deficits in different degrees.JOA score was 12.4 on average.[Result]The positions of all screws were good.There was no complication related to inserting screws.All neck pain released.Fourteen-months follow-up was obtained on average in 13 patients.Cervicooccipital nonunion was in one case and its occipital screws were pulled out.Twelve patients had satisfactory fixation and got firm fusion.Ameliotate rate of JOA score of the neurological function was 63.0%.[Conclusion]These initial data indicate that posterior occipitocervical fixation using plate-rod-polyaxial screw system is safe and reliable,and satisfactory clinical outcome can be obtained.The system appears to offer some advantages over other existing methods of fixation.
10.Differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells into chondrocytes induced by transforming growth factor beta 1

BACKGROUND: Transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) is a first selected growth factor in study of articular cartilage tissue engineering. Suitable concentration can stimulate proliferation, division and differentiation of articular chondrocytes. OBJECTIVE: To establish an special inducing system for differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) into chondrocytes in contained TGF-β1 culture in vivo,and to observe the changes in cell form and phenotype.METHODS: BMSCs were separated and purified from rabbit tibial tubercle using attachment culture method. Surface antigen of the third-generated BMSCs was determined by using flow cytometry. Subsequently,the third-generated BMSCs were induced with TGF-β1-contained special inducing system in 21-day culture, which was compared with human septal cartilage cells of nose following induction. Collagen type Ⅱ was qualitatively determined using immunohistochemical method.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Rabbit BMSCs were separated and purified using attachment culture method. The third-generated BMSCs were positive for surface antigen CD44,but negative for surface antigen CD34 and CD45. Cell form was irregular 21 days after induction. Immunohistochemical staining for type II collagen demonstrated positive cells. Results suggested that under culture system containing TGF-β1 BMSCs may directionally differentiate into chondrocytes,and there were not significant differences with normal chondrocytes.
