Objective To study the effect of listening to music with headphone or background music on pain reduction of patients undergoing colonoscopy. Methods 180 patients undergoing colonoscopy were randondy selected as the headphone group,background music group and the control group.The headphone group listened to relaxed music with headphone after measurement of vital signs.The background music group listened to relaxed music played by CD after measurement of vital signs.The control group did not listen to music.Pain degree was measured by pain intensity number scale during colonoscopy.Heart rate,blood pressure,saturation of blood oxygen and appraisal to the music by the former two groups were observed.Results Pain degree of the headphone group and the background music group was lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Pain degree of the headphone group was lower than that of the background music group with no significant difference(P＞0.05).Heart rate of the control group after colonoscopy was faster than before colonoscopy(P＜0.05).Conclusions Relaxed music can alleviate pain of patients undergoing colonoscopy.Listening to background music is a convenient and economical method for alleviation of pain without any side effects for patients undergoing colonoscopy.

Objective To establish a model of isoniazid induced necrosis and apoptosis in HepG2 cell and to observe the expressions of Fas/Fas ligand (FasL) in this model.Methods HepG2 cells were treated with different dosages of isoniazid (0,1,2,4,6 and 8 mg/mL) or blank control for 24 hours.Flow cytometer was used to observe the cellular morphology of the HepG2 cell.Annexin V/propidium iodide double staining and flow cytometry were employed to detect the necrosis and apoptosis of HepG2 cells.The expressions of Fas/FasL on the cells were also determined by flow cytometry.The data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA.The comparisons between the drug groups and the control group were performed by using Dunnett t test. Results The higher the dose of isoniazid (4,6,8 mg/mL) was,the more necrosis and apoptosis were observed.In the 4,6 and 8mg/mL isoniazid arms,the total mortality rates were all higher than the control group [(32.1 ±7.5)％,(34.9±8.1)％,(38.2±9.4)％ vs (7.2±1.5)％ respectively](t=4.62,5.14 and 5.75,respectively; all P＜0.01 ).The expression levels of Fas increased along with the dose of isoniazid increasing [(8.7±2.2)％,(11.5±2.8)％,(12.3±3.0)％ and (10.6±2.9)％ in isoniazid 2,4,6and 8 mg/mL arms,respectively],which were all higher than that in control arm [(3.1 ±0.8) ％](t=2.97,P＜0.05; t=4.46,P＜0.01; t=4.88,P＜0.01; t=3.98,P＜0.05).Furthermore,the expressions of FasL increased as well when the dose of isoniazid increased.The expression levels of FasL were (16.2±3.5)％,(21.7±4.8)％ and (18.7±4.9)％,respectively in isoniazid 4,6 and 8 mg/mL arms,which were all higher than that in the control group [(7.4±1.4)％](t=3.11,P＜0.01; t=5.06,P＜0.01; t=3.99,P＜0.05).HepG2 cell necrosis increased with isoniazid of 8 mg/mL.However,the increase of apoptosis was not observed.Conclusion Isoniazid can induce HepG2 cell necrosis and apoptosis,and the apoptosis may be related with the increased expressions of the Fas/FasL on the cells.

[Objective] To observe the effect of Qi-strengthening and blood-activating method for chronic nephritis (CN). [Methods] One hundred and ten patients with CN were randomized into 2 groups. Group A (n = 60) was treated with symptomatic treatment combined with Qi-strengthening and blood-activating herbs including Radix Astragali, Radix Codonopsis, Poria, Rhizoma Dioscorease, Fructus Corni, Rhizoma Curculiginis, Herba Lycopi, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Semen Persicae and Flos Carthami. Group B (n = 50) was treated with symptomatic treatment combined with oral use of Bailing Capsule, the principal ingredient of which is fermented Cordyceps powder with the actions of tonifying lung and kidney and invigorating essence and Qi. The treatment course lasted 8 weeks. Total therapeutic effect, and the changes of symptoms, immune function, hemorrheology indexes and urine routine indexes before and after treatment were observed. Background and purpose:PLAGL1 gene is a newly discovered gene, which could induce tumor cells’ apoptosis and cell cycle arrest. This study aimed to investigate the expression and the promoter methylation level ofPLAGL1 gene and its correlation withSDHB gene mutations in pheochromocytoma.Methods:The expressions of PLAGL1 mRNA was detected by real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) method in 13 cases of normal adrenal medulla, 32 cases of benign pheochromocytoma group and 54 cases of malignant pheochromocytoma. We examined the promoter methylation status by methylation-speciifc polymerase chain reaction (MSP) andSDHB gene mutation by qRT-PCR ampliifcation and direct sequencing.Results:The relative expression volume ofPLAGL1 gene in malignant tumor tissue was (0.527±0.201), which was signiifcant lower than those in benigntumor tissue and normal adrenal medulla[(1.517±0.662) and (1.734±0.756)]. There was no remarkable difference between benign tumor tissue and normal tissue forPLAGL1 gene expression and promoter methylation.PLAGL1 gene methylation rate in malignant tumor tissue, benign tumor tissue and normal adrenal medulla were 68.5%, 18.8% and 15.4% respectively.SDHB gene mutation was detected in 7 malignant tumor tissues, while no mutation was found in benign and normal group.Conclusion:Lower expression status ofPLAGL1 gene showed signiifcant correlation with promoter methylation which may be associated withSDHB gene mutation.

[Objective] This study was to investigate the effect of TMP on function of EPCs in normal or hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)inducing injury model cell culture,and to approach a therapy to coronary heart disease(CHD).[Method] Total mononuclear cells were isolated from the cord blood by ficoll density gradient centrifugation,cultured in vitro.After the cells cultured for 7 days,identified them by cellmarkers and the ability of intaking the ac-LDL,and made sure they were EPCs.To divide the cells into three groups,TMP(5,25,100,200mg),H2O2(500??)model and TMP together with H2O2,cultured for 24h and then detected the function and apoptosis of EPCs.[Result] Versus to control group,the TMP(5,25,100mg)groups had no important effect on the proliferation and adhesion of EPCs,but TMP(200mg)group had negative effect on EPCs.Versus to H2O2 model group,TMP(5,25,100mg)preincubated groups had important protective effect on EPCs in proliferation,adhesion and apoptosis.[Conclusion] TMP could protect EPCs from oxidative stress injury,but had little benefit to EPCs in normal incubation.

[Objective]To discuss the midterm effects of bipolar artificial femoral head arthroplasty in treatment of elder femoral neck fracture.[Method]From September 1995 to Febuary 2005,73 elderly patients with femoral neck fracture were operated with domestic bipolar artificial femoral head arthroplasty (average 74 years old).Forty-seven cases had been followed up for average 65 months.Harris score system and X-ray had been used for evaluation.[Result]There was no vessel and nerve injury,no infection and dislocation,no perioperative death.The complications included one greater trochanteric fracture,3 cases with pneumonitis,2 urinary infection,1 cerebral infarction,1 dysfunction in central nerve system and 1 case with deep venous thrombosis.Of all the 36 X-rays there were 3 cases with prosthesis subsidence,lucent line lesser 2mm in 2 cases,narrow joint space in 21 cases,protrusion in 1 case.According to the Harris scoring system,there were excellent in 12,good in 26,fair in 7,poor in 2.[Conclusion]Bipolar artificial femoral head arthroplasty are reasonable choice for treatment of femoral neck fracture in the elderly.Proper indication and perioperative management is critical to get good results.
