Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2014;(8):1513-1518
[ABSTRACT]IL-13isapleiotropiccytokinemainlysecretedbyactivatedTh2cells.Ithas2receptors,IL-13Rα1 and IL-13Rα2.The latter had been thought to serve exclusively as a decoy receptor for a long period of time due to its short cytoplasmic tail and lack of signal transduction structure .Since Fichtner-Feigl reported in Nature Medicine that IL-13 is in-volved in induction of TGF-βproduction and tissue fibrosis through IL-13Rα2-mediated signaling pathway , it was found that IL-13Rα2 has more sophisticated functions than just a simple decoy receptor as more and more researches have explored its signaling functions .This review combines the most advanced research results with previous investigation and discusses the gene structure, expression, production, distribution, subtype conversion and possible signal pathways mediated by this re-ceptor.More importantly, the connection with human diseases and the applications in disease diagnosis and molecule targe -ted therapy for cancer are also discussed .

Objective To study the relationship between the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor? (PPAR?) mRNA and the severity of coronary lesions in coronary heart disease(CHD) patients. Methods 153 patients with CHD who had undergone coronary angiography were admitted, the expression of PPAR? mRNA in peripheral lymphocytes was assessed using RT-PCR. The severity of coronary artery lesions was analyzed, and the lesions of coronary artery were delineated. Results Compared with control, in CHD patients IRI BMI TC LDL-C were elevated and HDL-C decreased. Significant decrease in PPAR? mRNA was observed in CHD patients (0.40?0.12 vs 0.62?0.13, P

Objective To explore the effect of simple pelvic floor vibration therapy combined with pelvic floor muscle training on patients with stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods 72 women with SUI were divided into control group (n=36) and treatment group (n=36). The control group received pelvic floor muscle training, and the treatment group received pelvic floor vibration therapy in addition.Their incontinence quality of life (I-QOL) and urodynamic indexes were assessed. Results 8 weeks after treatment, the score of I-QOL and urodynamic indexes significantly improved in both groups (P<0.001), and were better in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.001), as well as the effective rate (P<0.05). Conclusion Simple pelvic floor vibration therapy combined with pelvic floor muscle training is effective on patients with SUI.

Objective To explore the necessity of graded rehabilitation interventions for stroke by means of a retrospective analysis of the destination and functional outcome of stroke patients. Methods One hundred and twenty-one stroke patients discharged from the authors' department in a tertiary hospital after hospitalized rehabilitation treatment and continued with no guided rehabilitation training at home for a period of more than 15 days before readmission to the department were recruited as the family group, another 47 patients discharged from the same department and continued with hospitalized rehabilitation treatment in other institutions for a period of more than 15 days before re-admission to the department were recruited as the rehabilitation group. The demographic data, the patients' Barthel index scores Holden gait classifications at discharge from the authors' department and at re-admission of both groups were analyzed and compared. Results The complications in rehabilitation group were much less than in the family group. The difference of Barthel index scores between previous discharge and re-admission in family group was negatively correlated with the age of stroke onset, number of complications, and was positively correlated with the Barthel index score and Holden classification at the previous discharge. It was also found that the patients in family group would remain stable with their ADL performance and gait if their BI score was equal or above 45 and Holden classification equal or above grade 2 at the previous discharge. Conclusion Stroke patients in tertiary hospitalized rehabilitation program should be discharged either to secondary institution or family in accordance to their functional status.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2013;29(10):724-726
Reasonable and effective compensation and incentive mechanism is key to maintaining and stimulating incentives of the staff.By means of defining the main problems and defects in the current hospital compensation system in China, performance management is used as the cornerstone for designing the public hospital compensation and incentive mechanism.Resource-based relative value scale(RBRVS) assessment system is called into play to build a compensation management system, which features workload as the basis, technical competency and risk assessment as the reference and balance scorecard as the means. This can build a fair, scientific and reasonable salary distribution system and performance evaluation system, which maximize incentives of the compensation system, and in the end maximize the economic and social benefits of the hospital.

Objective To observe the clinical effects of phosphocreatine treatment on left ventricular function and on amino-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) level in elderly patients with chronic heart failure. Methods In our department, the 172 elderly patients with chronic heart failure were randomly divided into treatment group and control group (n= 86, each). The control group received routine anti-heart failure treatment. The treatment group received conventional therapy plus creatine phosphate sodium for 4 weeks. The cardiac function was evaluated and the NT-proBNP level was measured in all subjects. Results Four weeks after treatment, the improvements of left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD) and left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDD) were better in treatment group than in control group (all P<0.05). The plasma NT-proBNP level decreased significantly in treatment group as compared with control group [before treatment: (956.4 ± 644.2) pmol/L and (973.6 ±639.8) pmol/L; after treatment: (414. 5 ± 163.8 ) pmol/L and ( 719.3 ± 477. 5 ) pmol/L, all P<0. 05]. Conclusions Phosphocreatine could improve left ventricular function and decrease plasma NT-proBNP level in elderly patients with chronic heart failure.
