Objective The aim of this study was to establish a rat model of blood hypercoagulable state by intra?venous injection of thrombin and to provide a model for researches on hypercoagulable state. Methods Rats were divided into six groups and were injected with normal saline and 2?5, 5, 10, 20, 40 U/kg thrombin solution through the femoral vein, respectively. Then, blood was drawn to test the activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), prothrombin time ( PT) and fibrinogen ( FIB) , and to observe the death rate of rats in these groups to verify the optimal dosage. On this ba?sis, rats were injected thrombin of the best dose through the femoral vein, and blood samples were collected at 0, 10, 30, 60, 120, 180, 300 (s) to test APTT and PT and FIB for determining the best time for blood sampling. At last, the rats were divided into control group and thrombin group to inject normal saline or thrombin solution in the best dose via the fem?oral vein, and blood was taken at the best time to test APTT, PT, FIB and whole blood viscosity. Results APTT and PT values of the 10 U/kg thrombin group were the shortest, and FIB value of this group was the highest among these groups. APTT and PT values of blood sample collected at about 60 s after thrombin injection were the shortest, and FIB value was the highest. Compared with the control group, PT and APTT values of the thrombin group were shorter (P<0?05), and blood viscosity and FIB were higher ( P<0?05 ) . Conclusions Injecting thrombin solution into the femoral vein can be used to establish a rat model of hypercoagulable state. The best dose of thrombin solution is 10 U/kg in a concentration of 2 U/mL. The best time to collect blood sample is 60 s.

Objective]To explore the aberrant expression of SOD1 gene in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues and adjacent tissues,as well as in NPC cell lines, then to observe the effect of SOD1 on NPC cells metastatic ability and investigate the intrinsic?mechanism.[Methods]Immunohistochemical technique was used to examine SOD1 expression in carcinoma tissues and adjacent tissues(n=10). Small interfering RNAs and inhibitor LCS-1 were used to knockdown of SOD1 expression and inhibit SOD1 activity, respectively. Then, wound healing test and migration assay were applied to detect cell metastatic ability in vitro. Real-time PCR and Western Blot were used to analyze the expression of EMT-related genes(E-cadherin,Vimentin,Twist).[Results]SOD1 was found to be significantly up-regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissues(n = 7 ,70%),compared to control. SOD1 was also highly expressed in highly metastatic potential NPC cell lines(CNE2,5-8F,S18)compared with low metastatic ability cell lines(6-10B). Knockdown SOD1 expression or inhibit SOD1 activity suppress cell motility in CNE2 and 5-8F cells. Finally,we demonstrate that SOD1 inhibition plays a role in induction of epithelial marker E-cadherin and has an opposite effect on mesenchymal marker vimen tin and transcriptional factor twist.[Conclusion]These results suggest that SOD1 contributes to EMT and might be important for tumor metastasis in NPC.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of systemic glucocorticoids and intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG)for the treatment of toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). Methods Clinical data on TEN inpatients treated with systemic glucocorticoids alone or in combination with IVIG were collected from the Department of Dermatology, First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from January 2006 to December 2012. Therapeutic outcomes were evaluated in these patients. Statistical analysis was carried out by using a multiple linear regression analysis, binary logistic regression analysis and Cox regression analysis with the SPSS 16.0 software. Results A total of 48 inpatients with TEN were included in this study. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the maximum daily dose of glucocorticoids for disease control was decreased gradually over years (β=-0.461, P=0.004). However, binary logistic regression analysis revealed no obvious changes in the frequency of administration of IVIG over years. Cox regression analysis showed that both hospitalization duration (RR=0.351, 95.0%CI:0.150-0.825)and the time required for the control of skin lesions (RR=0.492, 95.0%CI:0.245-0.986)decreased with the increase in the frequency of IVIG administration. In addition, with the increase in the maximum daily dose of glucocorticoids for disease control, the time required for the control of skin lesions was also shortened (RR=0.997, 95.0%CI:0.994 -1.000), while no obvious changes were observed in hospitalization duration. Conclusions IVIG shows superiority in controlling lesions, reducing complications and improving the prognosis of TEN. Compared with systemic glucocorticoids, IVIG shows better therapeutic efficacy and less adverse effects, and may be preferentially selected.

OBJECTIVEThis work explores the diurnal variation of Solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) and total solar radiation (TSR) in northeast China, using daily observations of UVR and TSR in Shenyang.
METHODSUVR and TSR measurements were carried out from March 1st, 2006 to December 31st, 2009 in Shenyang, Liaoning province, China (41°51' N, 123°27' E).
RESULTSBoth TSR and UVR showed seasonal variation, reaching the highest levels in summer and the lowest in winter. They showed the greatest fluctuation in summer and autumn. The irradiance of TSR and UVR on clear days around the equinoxes and solstices increased substantially compared with the mean seasonal irradiance, especially in autumn. The whole day accumulated dose of UVR in winter was far less than that during the middle part of a summer day (i.e. between 10:00 and 14:00). It was also less than the accumulated summer dose of morning and afternoon (i.e. between 8:00 and 10:00 and 14:00 and 16:00).
CONCLUSIONThe instant irradiance and daily accumulated amount of UVR are low in Shenyang, especially in autumn and winter. Thus concern about the health effects arising because shortage of UVR in northeast China is warranted.

Objective:To analyze the current status and deficiencies of family bed service policies in China, for references for promoting the construction of China′s home health service system. Methods:Key words such as " family bed" and " home health services" were used to search for relevant policies(from January 1, 1984 to May 31, 2023)in Peking University Treasure Database, the State Council′s policy document repository, and official websites of health administrative departments at all levels. NVivo 11.0 software was utilized for a three-level coding process to establish a policy text analysis framework and to identify deficiencies in the construction of policies. Results:A total of 63 policy documents were included, comprising 53 provincial and municipal documents, which were mainly concentrated in economically developed provinces; After three-level coding, 72 third level nodes, 21 second level nodes, and 8 first level nodes(service objects, service providers, service methods, service content, service fees, subsidy policies, hospital bed configuration, and standardized management) were obtained. Among them, the responsibilities of service providers needed to be further clarified, the technical and innovative nature of service content was still insufficient, the charging standards and medical insurance reimbursement policies needed to be improved, the support for subsidy policies was limited, and the use of intelligent devices in bed configuration needed to be strengthened. Conclusions:China′s family bed service policy focused on eight dimensions, covering a comprehensive range of content, but there were still areas that need to be refined and improved. This study suggested that relevant departments should further clarify the responsibilities of service providers, deepen the construction of service connotations, moderately increase government support, promote the intelligent construction of services, and achieve multi-party collaboration to jointly promote the sustainable development of family bed services in China.

Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) have become one of the cutting-edge technologies in the world, and have been mainly applicated in medicine. In this article, we sorted out the development history and important scenarios of BCIs in medical application, analyzed the research progress, technology development, clinical transformation and product market through qualitative and quantitative analysis, and looked forward to the future trends. The results showed that the research hotspots included the processing and interpretation of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, the development and application of machine learning algorithms, and the detection and treatment of neurological diseases. The technological key points included hardware development such as new electrodes, software development such as algorithms for EEG signal processing, and various medical applications such as rehabilitation and training in stroke patients. Currently, several invasive and non-invasive BCIs are in research. The R&D level of BCIs in China and the United State is leading the world, and have approved a number of non-invasive BCIs. In the future, BCIs will be applied to a wider range of medical fields. Related products will develop shift from a single mode to a combined mode. EEG signal acquisition devices will be miniaturized and wireless. The information flow and interaction between brain and machine will give birth to brain-machine fusion intelligence. Last but not least, the safety and ethical issues of BCIs will be taken seriously, and the relevant regulations and standards will be further improved.
