1.Primarily using fine needle aspiration for diagnosis of liver tumor at the Huu Nghi Hospital
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):23-25
Fine needle aspiration under the ultrasound has been applied for the first time at the H÷u NghÞ Hospital on 25 patients with liver tumors. The results showed that number of patients with liver carcinoma, abscess and cysts were 18, 2, and 1, respectively; 4 patients were unable to be diagnosed because the samples could not be collected. Only 6 patients felt mild pain during aspiration. No complication happened

2.To evaluate the results of treatment of liver cell carcinoma by method of chemical plug of liver artery on 134 patients at Bach Mai Hospital
Journal of Medical Research 2004;27(1):99-104
The study was performed on 134 patients of primary liver cell cancer, treated through 294 episodes of chemical plug using lipiodol through the arteries, in order to evaluate the efficacy of treatment by the method of chemical plug of liver artery and to give some imaging diagnostic factors related to the effect of treatment. Results showed that all cases were intervented favorably, without death by the technique. In majority of cases, chemical improvements were notified (weight gain, pain relief in the liver...) > 6 months survival reported in 82.35%, > 12 months survival 48.24%, mean survival duration 16 months. In comparison with palliative treatment, the method of liver artery chemical plug gave higher efficacy

3.The role of serum alpha feto-protein in the diagnosis and management of hepatocellular carcinoma
Journal of Practical Medicine 2003;458(8):42-45
Review and update some knowledge of alpha feto-protein (AFP) value in the diagnosis, prognosis and management of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and the role of AFP in monitoring of response to medical and surgical treatments. Serum AFP tests give sensitivity of 50% and specificity >90% at cut-off value of 500 ng/ml in the diagnosis of HCC in patients who had underlined hepatic diseases

Korean Journal of Radiology 2018;19(2):209-222
Radioembolization using beta-emitting yttrium-90 microspheres is being increasingly used for the treatment of primary and metastatic liver cancers. It is a form of intra-arterial brachytherapy which delivers intense radiation to liver tumors with little embolic effect; this mode of action results in unique post-treatment imaging findings. It is important to understand these imaging findings to avoid misinterpretation of tumor response and to determine further management of the disease. Herein, we discuss the current concepts for assessing tumor response, common post-treatment imaging features, and associated complications following radioembolization.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1998;39(4):773-777
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma is the second most common primary malignant hepatic neoplasm. We describe twocases of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma which initially presented as liver abscess both clinically andradiologically. Mucin-hypersecretion from the tumor cells and extensive necrosis or secondary bacterial infectionwas responsible for the radiologic appearance of a liver abscess.

7.Situation of the liver cancer in 125 patients through the CT scanner
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):94-95
365 patients with suspected liver tumor received the CT scanner in the X-ray department of the army central hospital 108 during 1996-1998. The results showed that 125 cases found suffering the liver cancer. Most of lesions were single focus and located in the right liver (81%). The lesions accompanied with cirrhosis (29.6%), with cholelitiasis or langitis (9.6%), with kidney stone (34%), 17% cases had invasive image (late stage)

8.Diagnosis of hepatic cancer by needle aspirasion under ultrasound
Journal of Medical Research 1999;9(1):56-59
From May 1997 to May 1998, we conducted punctuation and aspiration of 30 cases of liver tumors under the guidance of ultrasound in order to diagnose by cytology. The result showed that, accurate diagnosis was 95% better than that given by the examination done with ultrasound (83.5%) and FP (52.5% positive). Punctuation and aspiration of liver tumors under the guidance of ultrasound is a simple method, easily to apply with high accuracy and allows quick and early diagnosis at the admission of the patient

9.Preliminary study on lymphatic drainage in liver tumors
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):27-31
The study was conducted on 13 patients who were undergoing operation for liver cancer at Hautepierre Hospital, Strasbourg, France between February to July 2001, involving 9 males and 4 females with ages ranged from 56 to 80. The results showed that liver stem nodes can be detected by injecting Bleu Patent deeply into liver tissue surrounding malignant tumors in sublobes 5 and 3 and anterior sublobe 4. Especially, for cases where it is difficult in identifying the liver stem nodes, help removing appropriately the lymphatic nodes of liver stem, visceral trunk and pancreatic head, especially for cases of liver resection due to colorectal metastasis

10.Ultrasonic image and value for primary malignant hepatic tumor
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):40-42
A study on 91 patients with hepatic tumors by ultrasound and operation has shown that the ultrasound was a method that can be widely used in the diagnosis of hepatic tumor, generally, and primary malignant hepatic tumor. The sound increase or equal as well as the sound homogenous or inhomogeneous were not a specificity of diagnosis of disease. The study concluded that the ultrasound had a high value in the determined diagnosis of the primary malignant hepatic tumor as well as evaluation of lesion of cirrhosis that usually accompanying with the primary malignant hepatic tumor.
