PURPOSE: To evaluate the characteristic CT findings of neuroblastoma, we studied neurobalstomas. METHODS AND MATERIALS: We analysed CT findings of available 25 cases among pathologically proved 51 neurobalstomas from Jan. 1983 to Sept. 1990. RESULTS: The most frequent site of origin is adrenl gland (40%) and the second is retroperitoneum (32%) and the third ismediastinum (16%). Characteristic CT findings are as follows:Calcifications within the tumor is detected in 86% of abdominal neuroblastomas and 50% of mediastinal origin. Hemorrhagic and necrotic changes within the tumor is noted at 86% in the tumor of abdominal origin and 25% in mediastinal neuroblastomas. Contrast enhanced study showed frequently septated enhanced appearance with/without solid contrast enhancement. Encasements of major great vessels such as aorta and IVC with/without displacement by metastatic lymphnodes or tumor are frequently seen in 90% of abdominal neuroblastomas. Multiple lymphadenopathy are detected in 95% of abdominal neurobalstomas and 25% of mediastinal neuroblastomas. The most common organ of contiguous direct invasion is kidney in 6 cases and the next one is liver but intraspinal canal invasion is also noted in 2 cases. CONCLUSION: We concluded that diagnosis of neuroblastoma would be easily obtained in masses of pediatric group from recognition of above characteristic findings.

6.Acute Cutaneous Graft-Versus-Host Reaction.
Annals of Dermatology 1997;9(2):77-86
Graft-versus-host disease occurs after the administration of foreign immunologically competent cells to an individual who is immunologically compromised. It is a clinical syndrome characterized by cutaneous changes, gastrointestinal dysfunction and liver dysfunction. Cutaneous graft-versus-host reaction is usually the earliest and certainly the most common form of the disease. The diagnosis of graft-versus-host disease is a complex clinicopathologic skill requiring considerable experience. There as yet appears to be no pathognomonic single clinical or histologic feature in the acute phase. In this review article, the definition, immunological aspects and. clinical features of graft-versus-host disease, diagnostic criteria of acute cutaneous graft-versus-host reaction and graft-versus-tumor effect are discussed.

Hepatobiliary fibropolycystic diseases are a unique group of entities involving the liver and biliary tract, which are caused by abnormal embryologic development of the ductal plates at various stages. We experienced strange hepatobiliary fibropolycystic diseases with a complex mass composed of malformed ducts and biliary cysts, which did not belong to, and were different from, previously known malformations. They were unique in imaging and histologic features. We herein report three cases of monosegmental hepatobiliary fibropolycystic disease mimicking a mass.

We compared the histological diagnosis and activity between the right and left lobes in order to assess the sampling variability in HBsAg(+) chronic liver diseases. From May 1987 to September 1991, we prospectively evaluated 23 patients(male 19, female 4, mean age: 32.0+8.8)with HBsAg(-) chronic liver diseases. (continue...)
