1.Abnormal expression of BRMS1 and Cx43 protein in thyroid cancer occurrence and progression
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2015;42(11):550-554
Objective:To investigate the protein expression levels of breast cancer metastasis suppressor 1 (BRMS1) and Con-nexin 43 (Cx43) in thyroid cancer and their correlation with clinicopathologic parameters. Methods:Immunohistochemistry Streptavi-din-Peroxidase method was used to detect the BRMS1 and Cx43 protein expression in 195 tissue samples, including 90 cases with thy-roid carcinoma, 45 cases with thyroid adenoma, 30 cases with nodular goiter, and 30 cases with normal thyroid glands. Results:The positive rates of BRMS1 and Cx43 expression was 56.7%(51/90) and 41.1%(37/90) in thyroid carcinoma, respectively, which are sig-nificantly lower than the rates in thyroid adenoma, nodular goiter, and normal thyroid gland tissues (P<0.001). Of the three pathological types of thyroid cancer, the positive expression rate of Cx43 was 61.9%in papillary carcinoma, 27.8%in medullary carcinoma, 27.3%in follicular carcinoma, and 12.5%in undifferentiated carcinoma. Statistical differences in the BRMS1 expression among papillary car-cinoma and the other pathological types were also noted. Unlike the patients without lymph node metastasis, the positive expression of BRMS1 and Cx43 proteins were both significantly low among patients suffering from nodal metastasis. Subgroup analysis shows that the positive expression of BRMS1 and Cx43 protein gradually decreased with TNM staging. In addition, a positive correlation was ob-served between the BRMS1 and Cx43 protein expression (r=0.494, P=0.032). Conclusion:The decreased expression of BRMS1 and Cx43 proteins is significantly correlated with the metastasis of thyroid cancer and malignant grade. The combined detection of the two proteins can be ideal biomarkers for judging the prognosis of thyroid carcinoma.

Objective To study the occurrence of the extraintestinal manifestations of inflammatory bowal disease. Methods By the retrospective study, the data of 201 IBD patients was analysed. Results A total of 21.43%of patients with ulcerative colitis(UC) and 15.79% of patients with Crohn's disease(CD) showed at least one kind of EMIs.In UC patients with EIM,the activity of disease was active phase in 89.74% and remassion phase in 10.26%.Tree CD patients were all in active phase. Musculoskeletal manifestation was the most frequent EIM,the second was dermatological manifestation,EIMs involving the genitourinary、thyroid、hepatobiliary were rarely. EN and/or PG and arthritis were more frequent coexisting other EIMs.Conclusion The prevalence of EIM was not rarely.EIM was most common among female and young patients.Arthritis and dermatological manifestations were most frequent of all assessed. The patient could have multiple EIMs and there was a tendency that EIM was more likely among patients in active phase、severe severity and with pancolitis.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis 2000;12(1):73-76
Objective To investigate the relationship between intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) and en docrine parameters so as to assess the effects of the main endocrine factors on IUGR. The concentrations of growth hormone (GH), insulin, T3, T4 and TSH were measured in umbilical cord blood, amniotic fluid and maternal serum. Methods The samples were collected from 23 pregnant women who were diagnosed as the full term IUGR, 42 normal full term pregnant women with normal infants' weight were taken as control. Growth hormone and insulin were mea sured by radioimmunoassay. T3, T4 and TSH were investigated by micro-radioimmunoassay. Results The concentra tions of growth hormone, insulin and T4 in umbilical cord blood were lower in IUGR than that in control group(GH 4. 63μg/L vs 7.01μg/L, insulin 10. 68μIU/ml vs 31.44μIU/ml, T4 87. 39nmol/L vs 138. 10nmol/L. P <0. 05, 0. 05 and 0. 05, respectively). The TSH concentration in umbilical cord blood was higher in IUGR than in control group (10. 84μmIU/L vs 5. 75μmIU/L, P <0. 01). The concentration of growth hormone in maternal serum and the concen tration of insulin in amniotic fluid were also lower in IUGR group than in control group(GH 1.77μg/L vs 2.74μg/L, P <0. 01, insulin 5. 84μIU/mi vs 15. 64μIU/ml, P <0. 01). Conclusion This study confirms that full term neonates with IUGR are abnormal in endocrine factors. The inadequacy of growth hormone may be one of the causes of IUGR. The relative scarcity of growth hormone and insulin seems to be a factor to compromise the fetus' metabolism. Be sides, the early hypothyrosis of infants with IUGR might protect them from unfavorable environment in the uterine.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2008;10(10):1324-1326
Objective To study the release of synthetic gene expression induced by vasopressin Ⅱ (U Ⅱ ) in hypoxic pulmonary hypertension. Methods Rat model of HPH was establish. RIA was used to observe the different time points of hypoxia in plasma and the dynamic changes of U Ⅱ , ADM content in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF). The impact of the release of U Ⅱ , as well as the relation-ship among U Ⅱ , ADM and HPH were explored to reveal the role of U Ⅱ in the pathophysiology of HPH. Results Rat HPH model was successfully established. Hypoxia promoted the expression, synthesis and release of U Ⅱ in lung tissue. U Ⅱ involved in the pathogenesis of HPH. HPH took place in the development of U Ⅱand was positive correlated with ADM. Conclusion The two peptides have opposite physiological effects on blood vessel, which suggest that these two peptides play an important role in maintaining the balance between the pul-monary circulation and lung ventilation as well as the stability of pulmonary artery pressure.
