Objective To investigate the levels of IL-18,IL-10 and MMP-9 in coronary heart disease(CAD)patients with in-stent restenosis(ISR)after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)treatment,so as to discuss the influence of inflammatory fac-tors to ISR after PCI.Methods CAD patients with ISR after PCI were angiographically re-evaluated and formed the ISR group(n=68)and the non-ISR group(n=173)based on the presence or absence of ISR.109 subjects without angiographic evidence of CAD formed a reference control group(control group). The plasma IL-18,IL-10 and MMP-9 concentrations of subjects were measured. Results The concentrations of serum IL-18 and MMP-9 in ISR group and non-ISR group were significantly higher than control group, while IL-10 level was the opposite.Contrasted with non-ISR group, the concentrations of serum IL-18 and MMP-9 in ISR group were significantly higher, but IL-10 level was the opposite too. There were significantly statistical differences(P <0.05)Con-clusion There is significant correlation between ISR and serum levels of IL-18,IL-10 and MMP-9.The inflammation may have im-portant impact on the process of ISR.

Objective To clarify the diagnostic value of salivary gland ultrasonography in Sj(o)gren's syndrome (SS),and its correlation with the disease activity index and important organs involvement were analyzed. Methods A total of 116 patients with SS were involved, including 71 cases of primary SS and 45cases of secondary SS.Ultrasonography examination of major salivary glands was conducted for these patients,at the same time the clinical data including inflammatory parameters, the immunological parameter and the involved systems were collected.Ultrasonography examination was conducted in 49 cases as the control group.Use t test,x2test and analysis of variance for statistical analysis. Results The positive rate of salivary gland uhrasonography in SS (56/116,48.3%) was significantly higher than that of the normal control groups (1/49,2.0%),(The chi-square value was 32.57,P<0.05),the sensitivity of salivary gland ultrasonography in primary SS (62.0%) was obviously higher than secondary SS (27%),(The Chi-square value was 13.75,P<0.01).The specificity of salivary gland ultrasonography was 98%.The scores of salivary gland ultrasonography had shown positive correlation with the erythrocyte sedimentation rate, the levels of Immunoglobulin (Ig)G,and RF(r=0.234,0.353,0.176;P=0.002,0.000,0.013),and negative correlation with the white blood cell count (r=-0.292,P=0.000).Conclusion Salivary gland ultra-sonography provides additional evidence for the diagnosis of SS,particularly in primary SS groups. The scores of ultrasonography are correlated with inflammatory biomarkers, indicating that salivary gland ultrasonography is related to disease activity.

Objective To understand the breeding situation of Acaroid mites in indoor environments of kindergartens in Wuhu City so as to provide the evidence for its prevention and control. Methods From March to June and September to De?cember in 2014 dust samples were collected from 15 kindergartens of 3 ranks every month. Acaroid mites in the samples were isolated identified and counted. Results Totally 360 samples were selected and 169 samples 46.94% had mite infestation. Pyroglyphidae accounted for the most in the population with the breeding rate of 45.00%. Totally 18 504 mites were found and Dermatophagoides farina and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus were the dominant species with the composition ratios of 30.21%5 590 mites and 17.83% 3 300 mites respectively. The third?ranked kindergartens were in the most serious situation con?cerning with 81.67% 98/120 of the breeding rate of Acaroid mites. The differences were statistically significant among the kin?dergartens with different ranks F=6.048 χ2=73.523 both P<0.05 . There were no significant differences about the Aca?roid mite population among different grades in kindergartens F=0.132 χ2 =2.377 both P>0.05 . Conclusion Acaroid mites in the kindergartens in Wuhu City were in serious condition and the population and species composition of Acaroid mite community is influenced by the human behavior and indoors environments.

AIM:To explore whether A3 adenosine receptor plays a role in the modulation of vascular reactivity after hemorrhagic shock in rat,and to find out the prospective drug target to restore the decreased vascular reactivity following hemorrhagic shock. METHODS:The hemorrhagic shock (40 mmHg) model was established in rat,and the reactivity of superior mesenteric artery (SMA) to norepinephrine (NE) was observed. A3AR expression at protein level and mRNA level were measured by Western blotting and RT-PCR respectively. RESULTS:The vascular reactivity of SMA to NE after hemorrhagic shock (40 mmHg) was decreased significantly in a biphasic response manner. The expression of A3AR mRNA in SMA after hemorrhagic shock decreased without significant difference. The expression of A3AR protein has a slight increase without statistical difference after 30 min of hemorrhagic shock and then has a significant decrease (especially at 2 h and 4 h after hemorrhagic shock). The usage of IB-MECA,a selective A3AR agonist, significantly increased the responsiveness of SMA to NE in hemorrhagic shock in rat. MRS1523,the selective A3AR antagonist, significantly abolished the restoration of the vascular reactivity to NE by IB-MECA in hemorrhagic shock in rat. CONCLUSION:A3AR plays a role in the modulation of vascular responsiveness to NE in hemorrhagic shock in rat,and the selective agonist of A3AR could restore the reactivity of SMA to NE in hemorrhagic shock in rat.

Objective To study the seasonal changes of glucose levels per unit soft tissue of Oncomelania hupensis. Meth-ods O. hupensis snails were collected from the beach of the Qingyi River in Wuhu City,Anhui Province from August 2012 to July 2013. They were kept in minus 80℃refrigerator immediately. The male snails were distinguished from female, and their soft tissues were collected separately after crushing their shells. The hexokinase method was used to measure the glucose concen-trations,and the results were analyzed statistically. Results The contents of glucose decreased from March to July. The lowest glucose content in the female was 1.87μg/mg in March, and that in male was 3.70μg/mg in July. Both of them increased from August and reached peak levels in September(♀=57.38μg/mg,♂=44.39μg/mg),and then gradually decreased from Octo-ber to next January and increased in February. Conclusion The contents of glucose have seasonal changes regularly in O. hu-pensis.

The contribution of particles to cardiovascular mortality and morbidity has been enlightened by epidemiologic and experimental studies. However, adverse biological effects of the particles with different sizes on cardiovascular cells have not been well recognized. In this study, sub-cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were exposed to increasing concentrations of pure quartz particles (DQ) of three sizes (DQPM1, <1 μm; DQPM3-5, 3-5 μm; DQPM5, 5 μm) and carbon black particles of two sizes (CB0.1, <0.1 μm; CB1, <1 μm) for 24 h. Cytotoxicity was estimated by measuring the activity of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and cell viability. Nitric oxide (NO) generation and cytokines (TNF-α and IL-1β) releases were analyzed by using NO assay and enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay (ELISA), respectively. It was found that both particles induced adverse biological effects on HUVECs in a dose-dependent manner. The size of particle directly influenced the biological activity. For quartz, the smaller particles induced stronger cytotoxicity and higher levels of cytokine responses than those particles of big size. For carbon black particles, CB0.1 was more capable of inducing adverse responses on HUVECs than CB1 only at lower particle concentrations, in contrast to those at higher concentrations. Meanwhile, our data also revealed that quartz particles performed stronger cell damage and produced higher levels of TNF-α than carbon black particles, even if particles size was similar. In conclusion, particle size as well as particle composition should be both considered in assessing vascular endothelial cells injury and inflammation responses induced by particles.
