This article presented a series of cases using vascularized interpositional periosteal-connective tissue ( VIP-CT) flap with guide bone regeneration ( GBR) in peri-implant soft and hard tissue reconstuction at the esthet-ic zone of maxillary. Fifteen cases with bone and soft tissue defects underwent VIP-CT flap with GBR in the implant treatment. And the attached gingiva width was evaluated before treatment and six months and eighteen months after the operation. The width of attached gingival of six months and eighteen months after surgery was significantly dif-ferent from the preoperative value (P<0. 05). However, no statistically significant difference could be found at six months and eighteen months postoperative. The application of VIP-CT flap could increase the width of attached gin-giva around implants and the short-term effects were stable and favorable.

Objective To investigate the effects of cell hypoxia on radio-inducible activity of early growth response gene-1 (Egr-1) promoter and its mechanisms. Methods The reporter vector of Egr-1 promoter was constructed by inserting the promoter sequence upstream the lucifearase gene in pGL3, which was then transfected into the lung adenocarcinoma A549 cell by liposome. The luciferase activity and H 2O 2 production were detected in the transfected cells exposed to doses of 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 Gy radiation combined with the oxygen concentrations of 0.1%, 0.5%, 1%, 2.5%, and 5 %. The changes of luciferase activity in the transfected cells exposed to various concentrations of H 2O 2 were observed. Results The reporter vector of Egr-1 promoter was constructed successfully. The radio-inducible activity of Egr-1 promoter decreased significantly in the transfected cells exposed to oxygen concentration below 2.5% in a concentration-dependent manner, as compared with that in the normal control (P

Objective To describe and analyze the distribution of medical expenditure of Liaoning province in 2014 in terms of population beneficiary based on the System of Health Accounts 2011(SHA 2011).Methods By means of multistage and stratified sampling, a total of 252 medical institutions were selected from four cities in Liaoning province according to their economic status and geographical distribution.Macro data including the outpatient income and hospitalization income were taken into account, to calculate the beneficiary population of the province in 2014 according to SHA2011.Results GBD classification found that the highest medical expenditure category was non-communicable diseases, accounting for 63.02% in total medical expenditure.ICD classification found that respiratory disease as consuming the highest medical expenses (43.76%).The average medical expenditure of the elderly population was the highest per person, up to 3 041.70 yuan per person. Conclusions Medical expenses of non-communicable diseases, respiratory disease and elderly population were still high. Thus we need to emphasize disease prevention, and take efficient measures against such key diseases to curb the medical expenses. The elderly population calls for specific and effective measures to reduce their medical expenses.

This study is to analyze and identify the water soluble components of water buffalo horn (Bubali Cornu, WBH), and also establish a method for investigating these components. Shotgun proteomic analysis identified proteins in WBH aqueous extraction: keratin, collagen, desmoglein, etc. Ultrafiltration and LC-MS/MS were used to separate and identify the peptides in WBH aqueous extract, as a result, identified peptides were mainly derived from nonspecific degradation products of keratin and collagen, which including C-terminal peptides and non C-terminal peptides. Hypoxanthine, uridine, guanosine, and adenosine were identified by comparing with the standards. The strategy in present study could be used in analyzing water soluble components of animal horn derived TCM. It provides a reference for investigation of the material basis of animal horn derived TCM.

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(2):322-326
Euphorbia kansui (EK) is a toxic herbal drug, and often used after vinegar-processing to reduce its toxicity. In present study, a 1H-NMR based metabonomic approach was used to evaluate the detoxification effect of vinegar-processed EK. The water extracts of EK and VEK were administered orally to male SD rats at doses of 9 g x kg(-1) x d(-1) for 1 week, respectively, and one more week observation was further conducted. The control group was orally given with saline. Histopathological studies of liver samples on the 8th and 15th day were conducted, and the metabolites of rat urine and liver were analysed by 1H-NMR. Histopathological studies of liver samples from EK and VEK treated rats showed no negative impacts. In metabonomic analyses of urines, changes of metabolites indicated liver damages, kidney lesions and imbalance of gut microbes in the second week. VEK-treated rats showed a quite lower toxicity compared with EK-treated ones. The present study revealed that the metabonomic approach might be helpful for the evaluation of toxicity of EK and detoxic effect of VEK.

Objective To evaluate effect of clinical study combined with short-term intensive simulation on training of hysteroscopy technology. Methods Trainees receiving training of hystero-scopy technology from the January to December 2012 in Gynecology Minimally Invasive Center, Bei-jing Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University were enrolled and di-vided into two groups depending on the different training modes. Twenty-four trainees in group1 par-tic-ipated in three-month hysteroscopic clinical study program. Twenty-two trainees in group2 partici-pated in three-month clinical study program including one-week short term intensive simulation. After the training, the effect was evaluated by the rating scale and the Rank sum test was used for statisti-cal analysis. P<0.05 signifies statistically significant difference. Results The operation time(P=0.03), forward planning (P=0.02), instrument handing (P=0.00) and knowledge of specific procedure (P=0.04) were improved significantly in group 2 compared with those in group 1. Conclusions The training mode of clinical study combined with the short-term intensive simulation can improve hys-teroscopy technology effectively and should be widely applied.

Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2012;(12):985-987
Objective To evaluate surgical therapies in patients with popliteal aneurysms (PA).Method The clinical data of 25 PA patients admitted from January 1988 to January 2012 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 21 men and 4 women, the mean age was (56 ± 16)years.There were 27 PA in these 25 patients, with bilateral PA in 2 cases. The main symptoms were pulsatile mass in the popliteal fossa, limb pain, acute or chronic distal limb ischemia and limb edema.Result In this series 23out of 25 PA cases recieved operations,17 of them were treated with aneurysmectomy and saphenous vein interposition or bypass grafting,4 of them were treated with aneurysmectomy and prosthetic grafts interposition,1 was treated with aneurism ligation and 1 underwent end-to-end anastomosis after aneurysm resection. There was no perioperative mortality. One patient recieved amputation for distal anastomotic thrombosis and severe limb ischemia. The mean follow-up time is (6.5 ± 0.5) years. After 4 years,a right subclavian artery aneurysm was found in a bilateral PA case and treated surgically. Conclusions Early elective surgical treatment is recommended for patients with PA because PA may go rupture or induce dital limb ischemia and these patients may have good outcome after surgical treatment.Long-term follow-up is warranted to detect the new aneurysm formation.
