Erythropoietin (EPO) belongs to cytokines. It mainly promotes erythropoiesis in the peripheral blood circulation.Fundamental research shows that EPO can reduce cerebral ischemic injury through a variety of mechanisms, but at the same time, there are many unsolved problems. In addition, the two clinical trial outcomes are also very inconsistent. This article reviews the problems in EPO research.

The term of vascular cognitive impairment (VCI) has been constantly evolved and updated. The latest definition refers to the contribution of stroke and subclinical vascular brain injury that resulted from vascular pathology and its risk factors, to the cognitive impairment syndrome involving at least one domain, ranging from mild cognitive impairment to dementia, as well as mixed cognitive impairment, including Alzheimer′s disease. This article presents the epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, classification, clinical manifestations, auxiliary examination, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of VCI.

MiRs display an important role in a variety of biological, physiological and pathological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, individual development, occurrence and progress of diseases. Recent studies have discovered that miR?424 is the significant regulatory factor of angiogenesis, and is involved in many diseases such as infectious diseases, vascular diseases, central nervous system diseases and genital system disease. This article reviews the expression, effect and possible mechanisms of miR?424 in non?tumorous diseases.

Chinese Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases 2017;43(1):8-12
Objective To investigate the relationship between the level of serum cystatin C (CysC) and cognitive function in patients with acute cerebral lacunar infarction caused by small vessel disease . Methods One hundred twen-ty-three patients with acute cerebral lacunar infarction were divided into 3 groups according to serum cystatin C level. Patients were further divided into normal group (n=64), vascular mild cognitive impairment (VaMCI) group(n=36),and vascular dementia( VaD) group (n=23). The CysC, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), serum creatinine (Scr), TC, TG, HDL, LDL, fast glucose, HbA1C, NIHSS, MMSE, ADAS-cog score were compared between the 3 groups. Multivari-able logistic regression analysis was used to examine the association of serum CysC with cognitive function. Results Sub-jects with higher CysC levels tended to have lower MMSE score(21.98 ± 6.08 vs. 25.02 ± 4.69 vs. 25.10 ± 3.95 )and higher ADAS-cog score(17.73±14.23 vs. 12.51±10.39 vs. 10.67±7.53). The higher CysC was, the higher SCr and lower eGFR were. Subjects with severer cognition impairment tended to have higher CysC(0.93 ± 0.21 vs. 1.10 ± 0.45 vs. 1.34 ± 0.58). Multivariable logistic regression showed the regression coefficient was 7.06(P<0.05). Conclusion Elevated Serum CysC is one of the risk factors of cognitive dysfunction and associated with the severity in patients with small vessel disease-re-lated acute lacunar cerebral infarction.

This paper presents a new method of separating the junction between the epidermis and the dermis with enzyme, and then, observing the small wound of the papillary of the dermis by means of SEM.The result showed that this new method would be advantageous to the identification of small stab wounds and providing some concrete identify targets.

Objective To explore the master degree on knowledge of forensic medicine of clinical medical students who had been educated with it,and their suggestion to the course,to adjust the teaching reform in forensic medicine in medical college for nationalities. Methods This investigation was made by anonymous questionnaire in clinical medical students (224),who had accept forensic medicine course. Results The knowledge of forensic medicine of most clinical medical students in medical college for nationalities was good, yet it was not enough to them; and the present teaching method was too simple. Conclusion We should teach forensic medicine definitely for clinical medical students of medical college for nationalities with plentiful pictures and videos.

Objective:To analyze the influence factors of postoperative pregnancy in patients of endometriosis associated infertility after laparoscopy combined with hysteroscopy treatment.Methods:340 patients with endometriosis associated infertility who underwent laparoscopy combined with hysteroscopy treatment in Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital of Xiamen from April in 2012 to April in 2014 were followed up for 18 ~ 42 months to assess fertility outcomes. The relative factors of postoperative pregnancy rate were analyzed.Results:85.88% (292/340) of patients were followed up,and the overall postoperative pregnancy rate was 56.51%.Among which the postoperative pregnancy caseswere 115 cases (39.38%),40 cases (13.70%),8 cases (2.74%),2 cases (0.68%) in the 1 ~ 6 months,7 ~ 12 months,13 ~ 24 months,25 ~ 42 months, respectively. There were significant differences among the four groups(x 2 =11.76,P < 0.05).The multy-factors analysis showed that age ≥35,infertility time ≥3,r-AFS stage relatively high were risk factors of postoperative pregnancy(OR =10.45,3.03,3.74,P <0.05),and secondary infertility, applying ovarian stimulation treatment were the protective factors of postoperative pregnancy(OR =0.23,0.33,P < 0.05).Conclusions:Laparoscopy combined with hysteroscopy treatment can increase postoperative pregnancy rate, and the best time to pregnancy is the first one year after treatment. The age ≥35,infertility time≥3,r-AFS stage relatively high are the important causes for the postoperative infertility, while applying ovarian stimulation treatment can promote pregnancy rate.

A member of miR-16 family, miR-424 has been found to be closely related with tumorigenesis, tumor progrssion, prognosis and therapy. This article reviews the expression changes, roles and possible regulating mechanisms of miR-424 in leukemia and various tumors such as breast, cervical, lung, liver and colorectal cancers.Recent studies have demonstrated that the expression of miR-424 is affected by many factors, and miR-424 could be a biomarker of diagnosis, staging and prognosis in cancers,to identify the area of tumor, and be a target of therapy.
