Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(7):635-638
Objective To observe the real-time and short-term anti-hypertension efficacy of ear apex bloodletting plus acupoint thread embedding. Method Eighty-three eligible hypertension patients were randomized into group A of 28 cases, group B of 29 cases and group C of 26 cases. Group A was intervened by bloodletting at ear apex, group B was by acupoint thread embedding, and group C was by bloodletting at ear apex plus acupoint thread embedding. The blood pressure was recorded 5 min before intervention, as well as 5 min, 15 min, 30 min, and 60 min following intervention, and the real-time anti-hypertension efficacy was compared. By analyzing the blood pressure before treatment and after 1-month treatment, the short-term anti-hypertension efficacy was compared. Result In group A and group C, the systolic and diastolic pressures at 15 min, 30 min, and 60 min after treatment were significantly different from that at 5 min before treatment (P<0.05). The total effective rate was 60.7% in group A, 51.7%in group B, and 80.8% in group C. The therapeutic efficacy of group C was significantly different from that of group A and B (P<0.05). The total effective rates for grade 1 and grade 2 hypertension were respectively 84.6%and 40.4%in group A, 76.9%and 31.3% in group B, and 100.0% and 64.3% in group C. In the three groups, the therapeutic efficacy for grade 1 hypertension was markedly different from that for grade 2 hypertension (P<0.05). Conclusion Bloodletting at ear apex can produce a significant anti-hypertension effect, and bloodletting at ear apex plus acupoint thread embedding is an effective method in treating hypertension.

OBJECTIVETo explore the molecule mechanism of Salidroside inducing directional differentiation of mouse mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) into neuronal cells.
METHODSThe mouse multipotent mesenchymal precursor cell line (D1) was taken as the objective. Cultured MSCs were divided into the negative control group (complete culture solution), the positive control group (containing 1 mmol/L β-mercaptoethanol), the Salidroside induced group (20 mg/L Salidroside), and the blocked group (20 ng/ ml DKK1, a special inhibitor of Wnt/β-catenin signal pathway). All cells were inoculated in a 6-well plate (1 x 10(4) cells/cm2) and grouped for 24 h. The expression of p-catenin was detected by fluorescence Immunochemistry in the negative control group, the positive control group, and the Salidroside induced group. The expression of neuron-specific enolase (NSE), beta 3 class III tubulin (β-tubulin III), nuclear receptor related factor 1 (Nurr1), glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) mRNA, Wnt3a, β-catenin, low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein6 (LRP6), Axin mRNA were detected using reverse transcrip- tion PCR (RT-PCR). The expression of β-catenin and NSE protein were analyzed by Western blot in the negative control group, the positive control group, and the Salidroside induced group. Ca2+ chelating agents (EGTA), L-type Ca2+ channel blocker (Nifedpine), and IP3Ks special inhibitor (LY294002) were used to block Ca2+ signal pathway respectively. The expression of Wnt3a, LRP-6, Axin, glycogen syn- thase kinase (GSK-3), and β-catenin mRNA were detected by RT-PCR. The β-catenin protein expression was analyzed using Western blot.
RESULTSCompared with the positive control group, β-catenin protein was strong positively expressed; the expression of Wnt3a, β-catenin, LRP6, Axin, NSE, β-tubulin III, Nurr1 mRNA, and NSE protein were obviously up-regulated in the Salidroside induced group (P < 0.01). Compared with the positive control group and the Salidroside induced group, β-catenin, NSE, Nurr1, and β-tubulin III mRNA expression decreased; β-catenin and NSE protein expression were also down-regulated in the blocked group (P < 0.01). Compared with the Salidroside induced group, the expression of Wnt3a, LRP-6, β-catenin, and Axin mRNA were down-regulated in the Ca2+ signal blocked group and the salidroside induced group (P < 0.01, P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSalidroside affected directional differentia- tion of MSCs into neuronal cells through Wnt/β-catenin and Ca2+ signal pathway.

ABSTRACT:Objective To a rare case of double primary cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma with gallbladder)to guide clinical application. Methods and Results We reported one case of primary hepatocellular carcinoma and gallbladder.A male patient,54 years old,had main complaints of intermittent right upper quadrant pain for 4 days. The abdominal CT of the local county hospital showed gallstones, gallbladder with liver infiltration. And then he went to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University for further treatment.Laboratory examination revealed:HBsAg(+),HBcAb(+),alpha-fetoprotein (AFP)> 60 500 ng/mL,carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) 5.25 ng/mL.Abdominal CT showed hilar slightly stronger light echo groups:liver cancer or gallbladder cancer? Hepatic artery and portal vein CT imaging (CTA+CTV)examination showed the malignant tumor shadow in the inside of the left hepatic lobe huge, uneven thickening of the gallbladder wall, suspected liver disease with gallbladder infringement or gallbladder disease with liver infringement. With the preoperative preliminary consideration of primary liver cancer with infiltration of the gallbladder,we chose the operation as the resection of segment Ⅳ b and Ⅴ of the liver, cholecystectomy and T tube drainage.Pathological examination postoperative showed the bulky liver carcinoma grade Ⅲ and the poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma of gallbladder.A month later, abdominal CT showed the tumor spread intrahepatic, prompting the poor prognosis. Conclusion The two which are not continuous, which is the standard of double primary cancer, are not suitable for all double primary cancers. This case provides useful experience for future similar diagnosis and treatment of disease, and also helps us with timely and accurate identification of “metastatic”or “primary”,which is the key point for clinicians to give patients an effective treatment.
