Objective The facial soft tissue features were studied in Urumqi adolescent with skeletal Ⅱ malocclusion by using a polar coordinate system. Methods Sixty samples of Urumqi adolescent with skeletal Ⅱ malocclusion were selected, each one underwent cephalometrics analysis and 32 cephalometric parameters from the samples were measured. The mean and standard deviations of each measurement were compared by statistical analysis (t-test). Results Polar distance in male was larger than female, showing significant difference between male and female. Po-Ns/Po-Li, Po-Ns/Po-Bs, Po-Ns/PoPgs, Po-Ns/Po-Gns, and Po-Ns/Po-Mes showed significant difference between male and female. Polar angles in female were larger than male, with a significant difference between male and female.Conclusion Statisticalstudies on features of facial soft tissue show significant differences between male and female. The polar coordinate analysis system is a good index to study the growth magnititude and direction of facial soft tissue during growth and development or before treatment and after treatment.

This study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of solution form of 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) on removing smear layer of root canals at different exposure time periods and to provide scientific basis for EDTA as a choice of root canal irrigation in clinical practice. Twenty-five single-rooted teeth were randomly divided into 5 groups: control group (group A) was given 2.5% NaOCl, and 4 experimental groups were given 2.5% NaOCl and 17% EDTA, including groups B, C, D and E with exposure time of 1, 3, 5 and 7 min, respectively. After preparation of the root canals, the teeth were split along their longitudinal axis, and the root sections were examined under scanning electron microscope for evaluation of smear layer removal and erosion on the surface of the root canal walls. The specimens in group B showed presence of smear layer on the walls of the root canal with no statistical difference from that in group A (P>0.05). In groups C and D, partial removal of smear layer was obtained, and there was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05), but there was significant difference in removal of smear layer between group C and group B (P<0.05). Root canal walls in group E specimens showed almost complete removal of smear layer, and the removal of smear layer was significantly different from that in group D (P<0.01). There was no significant change in the structure of the surface of root canal for each sample. It was concluded that combined irrigation with 17% EDTA and 2.5% NaOCl could remove the smear layer with no significant alteration in dentinal structure when the chelating agent was applied for 7 min. At 3 and 5 min of application, partial removal of smear layer was observed and at 1 min negligible removal of smear layer was achieved.

Objective To discuss the distributions and drug resistance of gram-positive cocci and provide scientific basis for reasonable use of antimicrobial drugs.Methods One hundred and twenty-five strains were isolated and cultured in our department from January 2009 to December 2011.The drug susceptibility was tested by K-B method and the results were judged by the criteria guideline of CLSI 2009.Results The main strains of separated cocci were Staphylococcus aureus (68,54.4％),Enterococcus faecium (22,17.6％),coagulase-negative staphylococcus (CNS) (20,16.0％),Enterococcus faecalis (6,4.8％),Staphylococcus haemolyticus(7,5.6％)and other gram-positive cocci (2,1.6％).Methicillin-resistant S.aureus (MRSA) and Methicillin-susceptible S.aureus (MSSA) detected were 40 and 28 strains(accounted for 58.8％ and 41.1％ of S.aureaus).The results of drug susceptibility tests showed that the drug resistant rate of MRSA to Gentamicin,Clidamycin,Erythromycin and Ciprofloxacin was up to 87.5％-95.0％,and the drug resistant rate of coagulasenegative staphylococcus to Penicillin,Erythromycin,Clidamycin and Gentamicin was up to 65.0％-95.0％,besides,the drug resistant rate of E.faecalis and E.faecium to Erythromycin,high level Gentamicin and Ciprofloxacin were 86.4％-100％ and 50.0％-66.7％,respectively.No strains with drug resistant to Vancomycin,Teicoplanin and Linezolid were detected.Conclusion S.aureus was the main strains of nosocomial infection of gram cocci.The resistance of gram-positive cocci is severe,so clinicians should attaches great importance to high drug resistance of gram-positive cocci.

BACKGROUND:Single hematology analysis can only reflect the body injury at a certain time point after radiation damage, but cannot reflect the longer-term cumulative status after radiation damage. OBJECTIVE:To identify the biomarkers in blood and urine in mice after radiation damage with metabolomics method based on nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum. METHODS:Forty-eight mice were randomly divided into four groups and received 0 (sham radiation), 3, 9 and 27 Gy radiation. The blood samples were col ected at 24 hours and 5 days after radiation. Another 36 mice were col ected and divided into three groups and received 0 (sham radiation), 9 and 27 Gy radiation, then the urine samples were col ected at 2 days before radiation and 5 days after radiation for 24 hours. The blood and urine samples were analyzed with proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The content of aspartic aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase in blood plasma maintained a stable level after 3-or 9-Gy X-ray radiation, but the level of alkaline phosphatase in blood plasma was increased significantly after 9-Gy radiation, which indicating that low-dose head radiation may cause increased radiation damage and repair. The level of total superoxide dismutase in blood plasma was significantly decreased at 5 days after radiation which indicating that head radiation in mice could cause systemic oxidative stress. Meanwhile, the N-hexamolglycine and-thymidine level in the urine samples was significantly increased after different doses X-ray radiation, which can be used as the radiation damage markers in urine samples after head radiation. The 3-hydroxy-2-methylbenzoic acid 3-O-sulfate level in urine samples was increased by 2.5 times after received 9-Gy radiation, which can be used as the specific markers of middle-and low-dose radiation damage;the level of taurine in the urine samples was increased by 20%after 27-Gy radiation, which can be used as the specific markers of high-dose radiation damage.

Objective To explore the clinical value of the duplex ultrasonography (duplex US) for evaluating the re-stenosis after peripheral arterial bypass grafting. Methods Eighty prosthetic grafts of sixty-three patients with femoral-pop-liteal arterial bypass grafting were follow-up regularly by duplex US. They were divided into non significant stenosis group (n=56), the significant stenosis group (n=15) and occlusion group (n=9) according to the tube diameter and arterial blood flow-ing parameters, which changed postoperatively. The diagnostic results were compared and analyzed between duplex US and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). The peak flow velocity of middle grafts (MG) to 40 cm/s was defined to evaluate risk of graft occlusion. Results The diagnostic coincidence rate of duplex US and DSA for grafts stenosis classification was 90%. The diagnostic sensitivity of duplex US to grafts stenosis was 91.7%, and the specificity was 92.9%. The positive pre-dictive value was 84.6%for grafts stenosis, and the negative predictive value was 96.3%, the false positive rate was 16.7%, and the false negative rate was 8.3%. The grafts occlusion rate was higher in MG<40 cm/s group than that of MG≥40 cm/s group. Conclusion There was a good consistency with Duplex US and DSA for the diagnosis of peripheral artery bypass graft restenosis. Duplex US showed characteristics of non-invasive, simple and easily accepted by patients.

Objective: To discuss the methods and items for clinical linear accelerator (Clinac) and 3D treatment planning system (TPS)/intensity modulated radiotherapy(IMRT) system based on 2D ionization chambers array(2D-ICA). Methods: The 2D-I-CA laid on the anthropomorphic phantom with five centimeters and which was put on another five centimeters same phantom.All data have gained as following conditions: the SAD is 100 cm and the SSD is 90 cm; the fields' size are 2 cm, 5 cm, 10 cm,15 cm ,20 cm respectively and 2 cm×10 cm ,5 cm×20 cm ,20 cm×5 cm, MU=100 cGy;the Clinae and TPS were verified by some special items for checking their dose accuracy, such as, square fields, rectangular fields, and rectangular fields with 600 wedge or 300 wedge, which were measured for verification their flatness and symmetry. And some measured items were only for checking multileaf collimator (MLC) and TPS calculated accuracy. So, we developed moveable MLC fields and IMRT plans and compound fields to evaluate leafs side effects and leafs end effects and transmission effects. Results: The flatness value of square and rectangular fields was 100.07%～102.66%,and their symmetry value was 0.10%～1.49%; and these irradiate fields' size were compared with light fields' sizes, which the X direction deviation was-1.5%～0.7% ,the Y direction deviation was-1.4%～1.0%,and their average value was-0.47%.To verify calculated data for TPS ,we developed Gamma value and ab-solute value (<4%)to evaluate their accuracy. For square and rect-angular fields, The Gamma value was 92.02%～96.35%.In com-pound fields Which were composed with two half fields (X1 = 5 cm, X2 =0 cm, Y= 10 cm and X1 = 0 cm,X2 = 5 cm, Y=10 cm),the maximum deviation was about 5%.And five fields (2 cm×10 cm) composed one fields (10 cm×10 cm),the maximum deviation was about 10% in the joint place. The Gamma value of one fields was 96.6%, another was 93.2% in the moveable fields. Conclusions: To dollop 2D ionization chambers array to verify the dose for Clinac and TPS, it was so quick and simple, and it was important that it bring more accurate dose evaluation and more clinical quality assurance and quality control methods.

AlM: To compare the results of 4 methods for measuring angle of exodeviation in the three types of intermittent exotropia, including when looking at indoor distance target of 6m, looking at indoor distance target of 30m, looking at outdoor far distance target, after 1h diagnostic occlusion test.
METHODS: Prospective case series study. Sixty-five patients with intermittent exotropia between June 2013 and June 2014 were enrolled in the Department of Ophthalmology, Affiliated Hospital to Qingdao University, included 37 males and 28 females with average age ( 12. 5 ± 6. 2 ) years. All the patients were measured when looking at indoor distance target of 6m, looking at indoor distance target of 30m, looking at outdoor far distance target, after 1h diagnostic occlusion test. lntermittent exotropia was divided into basic type, convergence insufficiency type and divergence excess type, which was based on the different result of between the distance and near measurements. The One-way test was applied to analyze the four methods of measuring angle of exodeviation in the three types of intermittent exotropia. LSD - t test was applied to compare the differences between each two methods in each type.
RESULTS: The distance exodeviations tested with looking at indoor distance target of 6m, looking at indoor distance target of 30m , looking at outdoor far distance target, after 1h diagnostic occlusion test were basic type (45. 4 ± 21. 0, 55. 0 ± 15. 0, 64. 68 ± 17. 7, 68. 75 ± 16. 6PD), convergence insufficiency type (33. 3 ± 14. 0, 44. 9 ± 12. 9, 43. 6±11. 8, 54. 6±11. 2PD), divergence excess type (55. 6± 17.4, 66.3±18.8, 76.9±16.4, 78.1±15.6PD). There were obviously differences between each two methods in each type ( basic type F = 9. 649, P = 0. 00; convergence insufficiency type F=6. 886, P=0. 001; divergence excess type F = 7. 989, P = 0. 00 ). Compared with looking at indoor distance target of 30m, looking at outdoor far distance target ( basic type P=0. 044, divergence excess type P = 0. 048 ) and after 1h diagnostic occlusion test (basic type P=0. 04, divergence excess type P=0. 027) had the statistical difference in the basic type and divergence excess type, and there was no obviously difference between looking at outdoor far distance target and after 1h diagnostic occlusion test ( basic type P=0. 353, divergence excess type P=0. 815). Compared with the other three measurements, 1h diagnostic occlusion test can elicit larger angle of deviation in the convergence insufficiency type.
CONCLUSlON: Both measurement with looking at outdoor far distance target and after 1h diagnostic occlusion test can elicit the larger angle of deviation in the basic type and divergence excess type; The measurement with after 1 hour diagnostic occlusion test can elicit the larger angle of deviation in the convergence insufficiency type.

Objective To study the killing effect of focused ultrasound activated-hematoporphyrin on H-22 and its optimum exposure time.Methods The distribution of hematoporphyrin in H-22 cells was measured by a fluorescence photometer,the uhrastructure changes were evaluated at different time with a scanning electron micro- scope after treatment with focused ultrasound at the frequency of 1.43 MHz and intensity of 1.0 W/cm~2, 2.0 W/cm~2,3.0 W/cm~2,respectively,in combination with HpD.Results The concentration of HpD in the H-22 cells reached its peak after being added to H-22 tumor cells for 45 minutes,which will produce the hest anti-tumor effect when activated by ultrasound.Morphological observation showed that HpD alone had a slight influence on H-22 cells;ULtrasound alone showed an anti-tumor effect on tumor cells,which was dosage-dependent.Ultrasound dia- thermy in combination with HpD has more effective in terms of its antitumor effect when compared with uhrasound dia- thermy alone.Conclusion The killing effect on H-22 tumor cells of sonodynamic treatment was dependent on the intensity of uhrasound and the content of HpD in the cells,as well as on the time of action of both uhrasound and HpD.

Objective:To study the characteristics of stress faced by and coping style of patients with tempormandibular disorder (TMD). Methods: Thirty patients with TMD and thirty normal controls participated in the study. All subjects were asked to answer the psychological rating questionnaires, including life events scale (LES) and trait coping style questionnaire (TCSQ). The muscle electricity were also measured when the subjects were exposed to an acute stress situation. Results: There were significant difference in LES, TCSQ and response to acute stress. Patients with TMD encountered more life events than normal controls. They also used more negative coping styles and less positive ones. The responses evoked by acute stress situation were more intense and lasted longer than normal controls. Conclusion: Stressful life events, coping style and responses evoked by acute stress may play a significant role in etiology of TMD.
