Objective: To investigate the current situation of consumption and development tendency of antitumor Chinese herbal injections in Wuhan area. Methods:The analytical method of the defined daily dose ( DDD) recommended by WHO was used to ana-lyze the application of antitumor Chinese herbal injections in 32 hospitals of Wuhan area during the period of 2010-2012. Results:The consumption sum and the DDDs of antitumor Chinese herbal injections were increased year after year, while the daily drug cost ( DDC) was stable in general. The sort of consumption was generally in accordance with the sequence of DDDs. Conclusion:The status quo of antitumor Chinese herbal injections during the period of 2010-2012 is in line with the characteristics of clinical application, indicating the use is rational.

Objective To investigate the effect of hypoxia on vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression and secretion in human renal fibroblasts. Methods Human renal fibroblasts were primary cultured from donor kidney, and cells in passage 3 were used in this experiment. Hypoxia was induced by incubation in a gas-tight box gassed with 10% CO2/10% H2/80% N2 for 24 hours. VEGF mRNA levels were measured by semi-quantitative RT-PCR method. VEGF proteins expressed on cell surface were measured by flow cytometry. VEGF proteins secreted into supernatants were measured by ELISA method. Objective To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in nutrition support therapy in the patients with hyperemesis gravidarum. Methods The clinical pharmacist played a positive role in nutrition support care of a patient with hyperemesis gravidarum by analysising disease characteristics and adverse drug reactions, providing suggestion on the selection of fat emulsion and offering an individualized pharmaceutical care. Results The clinical pharmacist recognized the potential risk in nutrition support plan, took modifications timely, and prevented the occurrence of unfavorable clinical outcomes. Objective To evaluate the effect of the opioid switch from morphine to sufentanil on the expression of μ-opioid receptors in the midbrain periaqueductal gray (PAG) of rats.Methods Forty healthy male Wistar rats,aged 8 weeks,weighing 250-290 g,were randomly assigned into 5 groups (n=8 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),7 day sufentanil group (group S),7 day morphine group (group M),14 day morphine group (group MM),and 14 day alternate administration of morphine and sufentanil group (group MS).Normal saline 2 ml/kg,sufentanil 0.01 mg/kg and morphine 10 mg/kg were injected subcutaneously in the cervical region twice a day for 7 consecutive days in C,S and M groups,respectively.In group MM,morphine 10 mg/kg was injected subcutaneously in the cervical region twice a day for 14 consecutive days.In group MS,morphine 10 mg/kg was injected subcutaneously in the cervical region twice a day for 7 consecutive days (1st-7th days),and sufentanil 0.01 mg/kg was then injected subcutaneously in the cervical region twice a day for 7 consecutive days (8th-14th days).The tail flick latency (TFL) to a thermal nociceptive stimulus was measured at 15 and 30 min after the initial administration every day.After the last administration,the rats were sacrificed,and the midbrain PAG was isolated for determination of the expression of the μ-opioid receptor and μ-opioid receptor mRNA using Western blot and real-time reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction,respectively.Results Compared with group C,the TFL was significantly prolonged on 1st-6th days after the beginning of administration in M,MM and MS groups,the TFL was significantly prolonged on 1st-7th days after the beginning of administration in group S,and the expression of the μ-opioid receptor and μ-opioid receptor mRNA in the midbrain PAG was significantly down-regulated in M,MM and MS groups (P＜0.05).Compared with group MM,the TFL was significantly prolonged on 8th-14th days after the beginning of administration,and the expression of the μ-opioid receptor and μ-opioid receptor mRNA in the midbrain PAG was significantly up-regulated in group MS (P＜0.05).Conclusion The mechanism by which the opioid switch from morphine to sufentanil reduces morphine tolerance is related to enhanced activity of μ-opioid receptors in the midbrain PAG of rats.

The preparation of Calculus bovis and its compounding preparations have been used widely in clinical practice.Traditionally,the forms of medicine were in raw material medicine way,preparing tablet,pill,powder or directly taking its powder.The main active ingredient of Calculus bovi were considered to be bilirubin and bile acids.However,the traditional formulations caused low bioavailability and wasted expensive herbs because its main component were insoluble in water.In recent years,many researchers have tried to use modern preparation technology to prepare its compounding formulations,such as solid dispersion technology,ultrafine grinding technology,powder coating technology,liposome encapsulation technology,or simplifying the prescription by using of known pharmacological effects of soluble components as substitutes.These methods were considered to be feasible to develop new formulations of Calculus bovis.In this paper,in order to provide reference of method and technology for the improvement of Calculus bovis compounding preparation and the development of new dosage form,ultramicrostructure,chemical composition,improvement methods and techniques of compounding preparation were analyzed.In addition,the relevant techniques and method of improving the formulation Calculus bovis compounding preparation in recent years were reviewed.

Objective To evaluate the effects of different doses of epidural capsaicin on pain threshold, neurological function and spinal neurons.Methods Thirty-six male New Zealand white rabbits weighing 2.5-3.0 kg were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 9 each): control group and 3 capsaicin groups (Cap 1, 2, 3). The animals were anesthetized with 10% chloral hydrate 50-75 mg?kg-1 i.v. . An intrathecal catheter was inserted at L6,7 interspace and correct placement was confirmed by outflow of CSF. 1 ml of 0.1 % ( Cap1) , 0.25 % ( Cap2 ) or 0.5% (Cap3 ) capsaicin was injected intrathecally 24 h after IT catheter was placed. Threshold to noxious thermal stimuli was measured and gait of the hind limbs were assessed using Johnson score (5 = normal, 0 = completely paralyzed), before and 1, 3, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 days after IT injection. On the 2nd day after IT injection 3 animals were killed in each group and the lumbar segment of spinal cord (L6,7) was immediately removed for light and electron microscopic examination.
