2.Value of contrast -enhanced ultrasound in evaluating peripancreatic vascular invasion and resectability of pancreatic cancer
Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2017;33(1):126-129
Objective To investigate the value of preoperative contrast -enhanced ultrasound (CEUS)in evaluating peripancreatic vascular invasion and resectability of pancreatic cancer. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed for the clinical data of 25 patients with pancreatic cancer confirmed by surgical exploration or postoperative pathological examination, who visited Shengjing Hospital of China Medi-cal University from December 2012 to October 2014,and all the patients underwent CEUS before surgery. The relationship between the le-sion and the peripancreatic vessels was observed, the degree of invasion was evaluated, and related scores were measured. These results were compared with the results of intraoperative exploration and postoperative pathological results. The rate of peripancreatic vascular invasion, sensitivity and specificity of preoperative CEUS in evaluating the degree of peripancreatic vascular invasion, and sensitivity,specificity,pos-itive predictive value, negative predictive value, overall coincidence rate, and Youden index of CEUS in evaluating the resectability of pan-creatic cancer were calculated. Results Preoperative CEUS showed that 42 vessels were invaded, while intraoperative exploration showed 41 vessels were invaded.A total of 17 patients were considered resectable by CEUS,while 15 patients were considered resectable by intraop-erative exploration. In evaluating the resectability of pancreatic cancer,CEUS had a sensitivity of 93.3%,a specificity of 70.0%,an over-all coincidence rate of 84.0%,a false positive rate of 30.0%,a false negative rate of 6.7%,a positive predictive value of 82.4%,a nega-tive predictive value of 87.5%,and a Youden index of 0.633.Conclusion Compared with intraoperative exploration,CEUS has higher sensitivity and specificity in evaluating the degree of peripancreatic vascular invasion and higher sensitivity, specificity, and coincidence rate in evaluating the resectability of pancreatic cancer.CEUS can accurately evaluate the degree of peripancreatic vascular invasion and provides a new method for preoperative evaluation of the resectability of pancreatic cancer.
3.The immune status of pancreatic cancer patients
Journal of International Oncology 2016;43(3):223-225
During the development of pancreatic cancer, the local and whole immune state of the patients is constantly changing, and through which the cancer cells escape from the immune attack. The main immunologic mechanism includes the induction of tumor immune suppression cells and producing the related cytokines. The changes of the whole immune status include the increase of immunosuppressive cells, the change of the immune function of T cell subsets and the inhibition of natural killers and lymphokine activated killer cells. In the local tumor, the infiltrating lymphocytes loss the function, and the ratio of Thl/Th2 cytokines is imbalance.

7.The prophylactic effects of Tanshinone on experimental cerebral infarction in rats
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1986;0(03):-
Twenty four hours after occluding of the middle cerebral artery in rats, thecirculating neutrophils were in activated state and the lipidperoxidation increased in ische-mic brain tissue. Tanshinone inhibited the chemoluminescence of the circulating neutrophilphagocytosis and decreased leukocyte infiltration in infarcted brain tissue. It alsodecreased lipoperoxide, malondialdehyde and increased SOD activity in ischemic cerebralregion. In addition, it reduced cerebral infarction size in the model. The correlationbetween inhibitory effects on leukocyte and reduction in ischemic cerebral damage wassignificant. Dexamethasone used as a positive control had similar effects on neutrophils andischemic cerebral injury. It was shown that the prophylactic effcts of Tanshinone oncerebral infarction might be mainly due to its inhibition on leukocyte function.

9.Artificial total hip arthroplasty for proximal femur tumors:clinical efficacy and security
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(26):4115-4119
BACKGROUND:With elevated medical levels, limb salvage surgery for limb malignant tumor is valuable day by day. At present, the limb salvage surgery has substituted amputation and becomes mainstream and development direction of present surgical treatment of limb tumors. However, so far, there are no unified surgical indications for proximal femur tumor, which are controversial. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of artificial total hip arthroplasty combined with extended resection of tumor sections for proximal femoral bone tumors. METHODS:Patients with proximal femoral bone tumors in the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University were selected and divided into control group and observation group, with 30 patients in each group. According to the disease, lesion curettage, aneurysm wal inactivation, autologous and (or) al ogeneic bone, mixed bone graft and bone graft fixation were selected to treat the control group. The observation group patients received extended resection of tumor sections and total hip arthroplasty. The operative time, intraoperative blood loss, hospital stay and joint function of two groups were compared. 2 years later, patients were revisited. Metastasis and recurrence rate, death rate and quality of life of two groups were compared. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:There was no significant difference in intraoperative blood loss and surgery time between the two groups (P>0.05). However, hospital stay of patients in the observation group was shorter than the control group. The excellent and good rate of recovery of joint function (83%) was higher in the observation group than in the control group (53%). The metastasis and recurrence rate within 2 years after surgery (7%) and death rate (3%) were lower in the observation group than in the control group (30%, 23%). Various indicators of quality of life of patients in the observation group were significantly better than the control group (P<0.05). These results confirmed that artificial total hip arthroplasty in the treatment of proximal femur tumors is safe and effective.
