To investigate the level of serum IL-10 in allergic rhinitis patients and the correlation between IL-10 and serum total IgE (TIgE). 50 allergic rhinitis patients and 30 normal subjects were involved in the study. The levels of serum IL-10 and TIgE were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the correlation between serum IL-10 and TIgE was analyzed. In the allergic rhinitis group, the levels of serum IL-10 and TIgE were 8.34 +/- 2.48 pg/mL and 142.6 +/- 28.2 KU(A)/L. In the normal control group, they were 12.86 +/- 2.88 pg/mL and 47.2 +/- 12.2 KU(A). There were significant differences between the two groups (P < 0.01); and the level of serum TIgE in the patients was negatively correlated with that of IL-10 (r = -0.46, P = 0.02). The level of serum IL-10 was significantly decreased in allergic rhinitis patients, which was beneficial to the synthesization of IgE. IL-10 plays an important role in the episode of allergic rhinitis.

Hyperglycemia is considered to be a predictor of death, poor functional outcome, symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage, and increased infarct volume in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Many studies have used parameters such as standard deviation, coefficient of variation, blood glucose level, stress hyperglycemia ratio, and glucose/glycated hemoglobin ratio to express hyperglycemia, and then study the relationship between hyperglycemia and stroke outcome. In patients with stroke receiving intravenous thrombolysis, hyperglycemia is closely associated with symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage, poor neurological outcome, and lower vascular recanalization rate. In patients with stroke undergoing endovascular mechanical thrombectomy, hyperglycemia is closely associated with poor long-term outcome, increased mortality, and increased infarct volume. However, whether hyperglycemia will affect the effect of reperfusion therapy in acute ischemic stroke remains controversial. The possible mechanisms of hyperglycemia leading to poor outcomes after reperfusion therapy in patients with ischemic stroke include inhibition of vasodilation, reduction of plasma fibrinolytic activity, destruction of the blood-brain barrier, promotion of oxidative stress, and reduction of ischemic penumbra volume. Studies have shown that for stroke patients with hyperglycemia, intensive blood glucose control does not bring significant benefits. Therefore, the blood glucose control program of patients with acute ischemic stroke and hyperglycemia needs further study and discussion.

Objective To explore the expression of breast cancer susceptibility gene 1 (BRCA1) in human colorectal cancer and its correlation with the efficacy of platinum-based chemotherapy.Methods Seventy-eight cases of colorectal cancer patients treated with platinum-based chemotherapy after surgery were collected.The surgical specimens of them were taken.Fourteen normal colonic mucosa specimens and 12 non-cancerous tissues of colorectal cancer specimens were obtained.The expression of BRCA1 in tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry and analyzed by x2 test.The colorectal cancer patients were followed up for survival time.Comparison of survival analysis was performed by Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Log-rank test.Results The positive rate of the BRCA1 expression in colorectal cancer tissue (52.6 ％,41/78) was lower than that of para-cancer tissue (11/12,x2 =6.518,P=0.011) and normal colonic mucosa tissue (13/14,x2 =7.949,P=0.005).The poorer the differentiation of colorectal cancer,the lower the positive rate of BRCA1 (x2=14.160,P=0.001).The median disease-free survival time of BRCA1 negative colorectal cancer patients was 51.0 months (95 ％ CI:47.7 to 54.4 months),which was longer than that of BRCA1 positive patients (45.0 months,95 ％CI:36.6 to 53.4 months,x2 =4.367,P=0.032).Conclusions Receiving oxaliplatin based chemotherapy may be a survival benefit for BRCA1 negative colorectal cancer patients.The expression of BRCA1 may be an index for chemotherapy options and prognosis evaluation for colorectal cancer patients after surgery.

BACKGROUND: As a group of primary cells,stem cells have the potentials of self-renewal and multi-directional differentiation, and can replace the damaged cardiomyocytes to construct new vessels, and enable the asthenic heart to obtain the blood pumping function again.This study summarized the progress of stem cell transplantation in treating cardiovascular diseasesDATA SOURCES:A computer-based online search of Pubmed database was undertaken to identify English articles published from January 2000 to December 2005, the keywords were "stem cell transplantation, cardiovascular diseases".STUDY SELECTION: The articles were primarily checked, and the references of each literature were looked up. Inclusive criteria:articles correlated with the classification and the transplanted pathways of stem cells,the present status,problems and prospect of its basic and clinical application in treating cardiovascular diseases. Exclusive criteria: repetitive study or Meta analysis.DATA EXTRACTION:Totally 50 relative literatures were collected, and 31 of them accorded with the inclusive criteria,and the other 19 were excluded due to the old or repetitive contents. Of the 31 involved literatures, 19 were about the classification of stem cells used in cardiovascular system, 1 about the transplanted pathways of stem cells, 8 about the application of stem cells in treating cardiovascular diseases, and 3 about the existing problems and prospect.DATA SYNTHESIS:With the continuous improvement of living level and aging, cardiovascular diseases have become the main causes for death and disability in modern society.Stem cells have the potentials of multi-directional differentiation, and have become the main seed cells for cell replacement therapy, and provided important investigative and applicating field for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. At present, there are many stem cells to be used in cardiovascular system, including embryonic stem cells, umbilical cord blood stem cells, peripheral blood stem cells, bone marrow stem cells, skeletal muscle satellite cells, myocardial stem cells, adipose tissue-derived stem cells, etc. The common pathways for stem cell transplantation are direct injection into myocardium,intracoronary artery injection and intravenous injection.Stem cell transplantation can treat cardiovascular diseases by promoting angiogenesis and myocardial regeneration, decreasing myocardial apoptosis and reducing myocardial collagen, then ameliorate the cardiac function, and breakthrough and progress have been made in both animal models and clinical studies. However, problems sill exist to be solved, and there is agreat distance to the routine clinical application.CONCLUSION: Stem cells are the important fields of the basic research and clinical application for preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases,thus it will provide powerful theoretical and practical supports for the more effective prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases to solving the key points and difficulties in cardiovascular diseases.

Objective To discuss the clinical treatment of unstable dislocation of the sternoclavicular joint with clavicle hook plates. Methods From April 2005 to October 2007, 19 cases of unstable dislo-cation of stemoclavicular joint were treated with open reduction and internal fixation by clavicle hook plates. There were 17 cases of Grade type Ⅲ and 2 cases of Grade type Ⅱ. After open reduction and internal fixation, all patients received arthroplasty and repair of eostoclavicular and sternoclavicular ligaments. Results None had intraoperative injury to nerves and blood vessels. Follow-ups from 6 to 24 (mean, 8) months showed 16 excellent cases, 2 good cases and 1 fair case by Roekwood criteria, the good to excellent rate being 94.7%. The healing duration lasted 3 to 6 (averaging 4) weeks. No infection, sliding or loosening of internal fixation, nonunion or re-dislocation was found postoperatively. Conclusion The clavicle hook plate is an effective and advanced surgical treatment of sternoclavieular joint injuries, because its easy and mini-invasive operation can provide sturdy fixation and lead to good functional recovery.

Objective To investigate the accuracy of computer-assisted interpretation(CAI)in the diagnosis of pediatric critical arrhythmia,and to establish Logistic regression model to evaluate the main risk factors of CAI error.Methods 1147 cases of arrhythmia patients were divided into heart disease(HD)and nonheart disease group(NHD).Candidate risk factors were chosen,from which the vailables statistically significant were entered for logistic regression analysis.Results CAI error rate of HD group and NHD group were 24.9%and 11.4%,showing a significant difference(P＜0.05).Age,underlying diseases,the number of CAI diagnosis entries were the risk factors.Conclusion CAI error pattern was different among HD group and the NHD group.Higher awareness for CAI error risk factors and CAI technology improvement are critical for a lower CAI error rate.

Forty eight patients with knee joint lipohemarthrosis underwent X-ray, CT, MRI and ultrasonography examinations, the diagnosis was confirmed by knee operation or puncture.The findings of 4 imaging methods were compared.Plain radiographs displayed fracture lines in 39 cases and fat-liquid layer of suprapatellar bursa in 40 cases, it displayed suprapatellar fat-liquid layer in 5 out of 9 occult fracture cases.CT displayed fracture lines in 48 cases and joint lipohemarthrosis in 48 cases; 3D imaging showed fracture lines better.MRI displayed fracture lines in 45 cases and joints lipohemarthrosis in 48 cases, and also showed the intracapsular structure injury.Ultrasonography revealed fracture lines in 15 cases and joint lipohemarthrosis in 48 cases, lipohemarthrosis was displayed in 7 out of 9 occult fracture cases.All 4 diagnostic imaging methods have advantages and disadvantages for diagnosis of lipohemarthrosis, and should be chosen on the basis of clinical needs.

Objective To explore the factors related to the outcome of idiopathic facial palsy. Methods 308 patients with idiopathic fa-cial palsy were included. The data of clinic and follow-up were collected from January, 2010 to December, 2014. The data were analyzed by Logistic regression analysis. Results 210 cases (68.2%) were cured (good group) and 98 cases (31.8%) appeared sequelae of different de-grees (poor group). The age, onset of disease, type of disease, damaged section, impaired glucose control, high neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ra-tio (NLR), high blood glucose, high blood triglyceride, time and methods of invention were significant factors related to the outcome (P<0.05). Conclusion Old, servious facial nerve injury, Hunt's palsy, high damaged section, poor glucose control in the patients with diabetes, high NLR, high blood triglyceride, delay and simple invention are independent risk factors for the poor outcome of idiopathic facial palsy.
