2.Effect of Continuous Passive Motion on Hand Spasm and Hand Function of Hemiplegic Patients
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2009;15(4):355-356
Objective To observe the effects of hand function training with continuous passive motion (CPM) on hand spasm and function of the hemiplegic patients. Methods 60 hemiplegic patients after stroke or brain trauma and with hand spasm were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group. The cases in the treatment group were treated mainly with the method of CPM together with the routine rehabilitation procedures, while the those in the control group were only treated with the routine rehabilitation procedures. The changes of hand spasm and function of two groups were observed. Results After four weeks' treatment, the efficacy of the treatment group was obviously better than that of the control group ( P<0.05).Conclusion The rehabilitation training is an effective method for treatment of hemiplegia, and CPM is an important auxiliary method in the treatment. These two Methods combined together can shorten the course of treatment, and strengthen cure efficacy.

Objective To discuss the influence of age factor on the outcome of the treatment of solitary bone cyst by Depo-Medrol infiltration. Methods 24 cases with Solitary Bone Cyst were analyzed. Age ranged from 4 to 23 years old, mean 10.8. Female 9 cases, male 15 cases. Humerus 18 cases, femur 2,tibia and fibula 2,radius and ulna 1, pelvis 1.16 cases(66.6%)Solitary Bone Cyst at proximal,7 cases(29.2%)at distal,1 (4.2%)at medio. 16 cases (66.6%)on the right,8 cases(33.4% )on the left. All cases were treated with Depo-Medrol infiltration. Mean follow up period was 4.5 years; review every case's result by the X-ray and clinical signs and symptoms. Results Group A 8 cases (33.4%) healed, Group B 9 cases (37.5%) healed. There was no significant difference in the healing rate be-tween Group A and B (P=0.653). Conclusions We conclude that the healing rate can not affected by age (P=0.653). In our opinion, the origin of Solitary Bone Cyst is disturbance of bone growth on physis,so we suggest the in-sertion point of inject needles close to the physis and sufficient to touch the physis.

It is therapeutically effective to apply hemopoietic growth factors to treat hemopoietic irradiation injuries, but for other tissues injuries, hemopoietic growth factors nearly do not work. At the same time, they are only suitable for the patients with severe and lower level acute radiation sickness (ARS). Besides, clinical therapeutic efficacy of marrow transplantation is not optimistic due to difficulties of marrow zygosity and severe complications such as graft versus host disease, radiation interstitial pneumonitis. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) could secret hemopoietic growth factors, rebuild hemopoietic microenvironment and be easily transfected by exogenous gene, which also have low immunogenicity. At present, studies on MSCs application in the treatment of radiation injuries are at the early -stage, but the precise mechanism is not clear. However, the specific characteristics can make up the disadvantage of traditional treatment of acute radiation sickness, and the clinical application is wide.

Objective To sum up our experience in the preoperative management for anticoagulated valve replacement patients undergoing selective biliary tract surgery Methods Thirty eight patients were divided into normal liver function group of 23 cases (group A) suspending anticoagulant 3 days before the surgery and group B of 15 cases with abnormal liver function suspending anticoagulant plus VitK 1 injection 12 hours before the surgery Prothrombin time was measured, and result was compared with 115 normal controls Results There were no significant difference in prothrombin time between the two groups Conclusion A biliary tract surgery could be safe if anticoagulated patients receive adequate preoperative management

OBJECTIVE To explore the function and mechanism of the apoptosis in cochlear of mimetic aging guinea pigs treated with NGF. METHODSThe twenty-four four-month-old guinea pigs which auricle reflex were sensitive were divided randomly into three groups: A group were injected to abdominal cavity with physiological saline (2 ml/kg) ; B group were injected to abdominal cavity with 5 % D-galactose (300 mg/kg) ; C group were given 5 % D-galactose (300 mg/kg-) and NGF (1000 U/kg) respectively to abdominal cavity. Three groups had been treated two times a day for four consecutive weeks. All the guinea pigs were tested with auditory brainstem response (ABR) before the experiment and twenty-four hours after the last injection. All the guinea pigs were killed by decapitation. The cochlears were removed and fixed in different fixatives. The specimens were treated by a series of special process and the Corti organs were tested with terminal deoxynucleotidy1 transmission-mediated dUTP nick-end-labelling (TUNEL) and transmission electron microscopy respectively. RESULTS The ABR threshold of C group was apparently lower than that of B group (P

Objectives To investigate the expressions of miR-101 and COX-2 in colorectal cancer. Methods Thirty-twocolorectal cancer specimens and paired paracancer tissues were collected for assessment of miR-101 and COX-2 expressions by real-time quantitative PCR. Thecorrelation between miR-101 and COX-2 , as well as their correlations with the pathologywere analyzed. Results The expression level of miR-101 and COX-2 mRNA in the cancer tissues was significant difference between the cancer and para-cancer tissues (P < 0. 01). Also, miR-101 expression was negatively correlated with COX-2 mRNA expression (r = -0.373 5, P < 0.01). Furthermore,miR-101 expression was significantlydecreased along with the deterioration of tumor differentiation grade(P < 0.05). Compared with which in Dukes A ~ B stage, COX-2 expression was overexpressed and miR-101 was down-regulatedin colorectal cancer tissue inDukes C ~ Dstage , butnosignificant difference was found (P > 0.05). Conclusion Down-regulated miR-101 expression andparallel COX-2 overexpression hasbeen linked to colorectal cancer. miR-101 and COX-2might be thepotentialdiagnostic markers and therapeutic targets.
