Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2009;15(4):355-356
Objective To observe the effects of hand function training with continuous passive motion (CPM) on hand spasm and function of the hemiplegic patients. Methods 60 hemiplegic patients after stroke or brain trauma and with hand spasm were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group. The cases in the treatment group were treated mainly with the method of CPM together with the routine rehabilitation procedures, while the those in the control group were only treated with the routine rehabilitation procedures. The changes of hand spasm and function of two groups were observed. Results After four weeks' treatment, the efficacy of the treatment group was obviously better than that of the control group ( P<0.05).Conclusion The rehabilitation training is an effective method for treatment of hemiplegia, and CPM is an important auxiliary method in the treatment. These two Methods combined together can shorten the course of treatment, and strengthen cure efficacy.

Objective To discuss the influence of age factor on the outcome of the treatment of solitary bone cyst by Depo-Medrol infiltration. Methods 24 cases with Solitary Bone Cyst were analyzed. Age ranged from 4 to 23 years old, mean 10.8. Female 9 cases, male 15 cases. Humerus 18 cases, femur 2,tibia and fibula 2,radius and ulna 1, pelvis 1.16 cases(66.6%)Solitary Bone Cyst at proximal,7 cases(29.2%)at distal,1 (4.2%)at medio. 16 cases (66.6%)on the right,8 cases(33.4% )on the left. All cases were treated with Depo-Medrol infiltration. Mean follow up period was 4.5 years; review every case's result by the X-ray and clinical signs and symptoms. Results Group A 8 cases (33.4%) healed, Group B 9 cases (37.5%) healed. There was no significant difference in the healing rate be-tween Group A and B (P=0.653). Conclusions We conclude that the healing rate can not affected by age (P=0.653). In our opinion, the origin of Solitary Bone Cyst is disturbance of bone growth on physis,so we suggest the in-sertion point of inject needles close to the physis and sufficient to touch the physis.

It is therapeutically effective to apply hemopoietic growth factors to treat hemopoietic irradiation injuries, but for other tissues injuries, hemopoietic growth factors nearly do not work. At the same time, they are only suitable for the patients with severe and lower level acute radiation sickness (ARS). Besides, clinical therapeutic efficacy of marrow transplantation is not optimistic due to difficulties of marrow zygosity and severe complications such as graft versus host disease, radiation interstitial pneumonitis. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) could secret hemopoietic growth factors, rebuild hemopoietic microenvironment and be easily transfected by exogenous gene, which also have low immunogenicity. At present, studies on MSCs application in the treatment of radiation injuries are at the early -stage, but the precise mechanism is not clear. However, the specific characteristics can make up the disadvantage of traditional treatment of acute radiation sickness, and the clinical application is wide.

Objective To explore causes and preventive measures of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury during endoscopic thyroidectomy. Methods Clinical data of 3 cases of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury from 101 cases of endoscopic thyroidectomy in this hospital from January 2002 to July 2006 were retrospectively analyzed and summarized. Results There were 3 cases of hoarseness occurred at 24 h after operation.Under indirect laryngoscopy, the unilateral vocal cord was found immobile. The reasons leading to the injury included thermal burn by ultrasound knife in 2 cases and edema compression in 1 case. The injury was transient recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis. The symptoms subsided spontaneously 3 months after operation in 2 cases and 20 days after operation in 1 case, respectively. Conclusions The recurrent laryngeal nerve injury is usually correlated with unskillful use of ultrasound knife. The improvement of surgeon's technique is crucial to reduce the incidence of this complication.

Objective To study the efficiency of endoscope-guided Savary bougie dilatation ( ESBD ) for strictured duodenal ulcer. Methods Forty-five patients with strictured duodenal ulcer were treated with endoscope-guided Savary bougie dilatation. The items of investigation were; easiness of passing the endo-scope through the strictured portion of duodenum, resolving of their symptoms and the complications happened after dilatation. Results The symptoms remitted and endoscope was advanced to descending portion of the duodenum through the stricture in all of 45 patients. The follow up period ranged from 6 months to 36 months. The rates of symptomatic remission were 97. 8% (44/45 ) , 97. 8% (44/45 ) , 94. 4% (34/36) , 93.7%(30/32) , 91.7% (22/24) and 87.5% (14/16) , at 6,12,18,24,30 and 36 months respectively. Recurrence of symptoms in patients without therapy was significantly higher than those with therapy. Conclusion ESBD is a safe and efficient procedure in treating the strictured duodenal ulcer.

Objective To investigate endoscopic clipping in treating acute gastroduodenal perforation. Methods Endoscopic clipping was carried out in 22 patients with acute gastroduodenal perforation as the complication of peptic ulcer or endoscopy. Results The clipping was successful in 19(86. 4% ) of 22 patients with acute gastro duodenal perforation, and surgical therapy was performed in 3(13. 6% ) of 22 cases. A single clipping was performed in 14(73. 7% ) of 19 patients resulted in satisfactory closure of perforation. An additional clipping was needed in 5(26. 3% ) patients 24 h after the first endoscopes procedure. The effectiveness of endoscopic clipping was related to location, cause and size of the perforation. Conclusion Endoscopic clipping is an effective method for acute gastroduodenal perforation as the complication of peptic ulcer or endoscopy.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(04):-
The anti proliferation effects of four different concentrations of tea polyphenols on PG cell lines were determined with MTT assay. Laser scanning confocal mircroscopy and flow cytometry techniques were used to determine the changes in intracellular calcium concentration, GJIC, Cx43 expression, and cell cycle distribution after treatment with tea polyphenols. The results showed that four different concentrations dose dependently inhibited the proliferation of PG cell lines. It caused a decline in the proportion of cells in S and G2/M phase, blocked the cell cycle progression in G0/G1 phase, and reduced the proliferation index of PG cell lines. Compared with control group, intracellular calcium concentration, GJIC and Cx43 expression were gradually increased ascended with an increase in tea polyphenols concentration. The results suggested that tea polyphenol could inhibit growth of PG cell lines. The mechanism of anti tumor is associated with an up regulation of GJIC of PG cell line.
