Objective To evaluate the clinical value of fetal holoprosencephaly complicated with face malformation by two-dimensional(2D) and three-dimensional(3D) ultrasonography.Methods Fetal faces and brains were examined regularly with 3D ultrasonography when they were suspected abnormal with 2D ultrasonography and compaired the diagnoses with postnatal or induced delivery results.Results 11 cases of holoprosencephaly complicated with face malformation were diagnosed using 2D and 3D ultrasonography.Among these cases,there were 4 with single median mostril,2 with proboscis,2 with cheiloschisis,2 with multipte face malformation,1 with arhinia.They were all comfirmed by postnatal or induced delivery.Conclusions 3D ultrasonography provides visualized,three-dimensional,more precise and clearly fetal structure imagine.It has important supplement to 2D ultrasonography.2D ultrasonography combined with 3D ultrasonography can greatly enhance the diagnosis rate to holoprosencephaly complicated with face malformation.

Objective To investigate the influence of fixed nurse specialists triage to improve the quality of patient triage.Methods Nurses were divided into the fixed nurse specialist triage group (group A) and the out-patient department rotation nursing group (group B),respectively,each group was responsible for triage of patients in clinic of medical department for five days.Then the number of two subdiagnosis error and the average daily working overtime for doctors were compared.Results A total of 3806 patients were in clinic triage in group A,165 patients had triage error.A total of 3812 patients were in clinic triage in group B,308 patients had triage error.The average daily working overtime of doctors in group A was(5.24 ± 0.37)hours,and(8.16 ± 0.58) hours in group B.The errors in triage and working overtime of doctors had significant differences between two groups.Conclusions Fixed specialist nurse triage can significantly improve the quality of patient triage in clinic.

Objective To study the change of Yes-associated protein (YAP) expression in rectal cancer and to explore the significance of YAP in rectal cancer.Methods Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(PT-PCR) and Western bloting technology were used to detect mRNA and protein expression of YAP in 30 patients with rectal cancer and 10 cases of normal rectal mucosa tissue.Results The expressions of mRNA and protein of YAP in rectal cancer were significantly higher than those in normal rectal mucosa tissue (73.2 ± 1 1.1 vs.10.4 ± 4.1,65.7 ± 9.5 vs.9.2 ± 4.3,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion YAP high expression is related to the occurrence of rectal cancer.

Objective To identify the effects of androgen on mouse model of autoimmune ovary failure.MethodsFifty mice were randomly divided into five groups as control group,early therapeutic group and its model group,late therapeutic group and its model group.Autoimmune POF was induced in forty mice by Pzp3.Then,the animals were randomly divided into four groups: two were treated with androgen from the 15th and 20th day after immune.The control group was treated with distilled water.The therapeutic efficacy of each treatment was evaluated by the changes in sexual cycles of mice,the serum level of AzpAb,infiltration of cells positively expressing CD45 in the ovary as well as the percentage of growing follicles of the ovary.Results The sexual cycles,serum level of AzpAb,infiltration of CD45 cells in the ovary of each model group were more significant than those in control group;early therapeutic group was less than model group;and serum level of AzpAb in early therapeutic group was lower than that of late therapeutic group.The percentage of growing follicles in the ovary of each model group was lower than that of control group;early therapeutic group was higher than model group and late therapeutic group.Conclusion The use of androgen in mice with autoimmune POF may notably ameliorate the pathogenetic conditions of the disorder,and the treatment during prophase was apparently more effective than that during the advanced stage.

Objective To study the effect of hyperbaric oxygen(HBO)therapy on abilities of learning and memory and hippocampal pyramidal cell in vascular dementia rats.MethodsThe vascular dementia model was reproduced and divided into control,sham and treatment groups.After 30 d of HBO therapy,the rats were assessed with the Morris water maze,and their hippocampal pyramidal cells were observed after HE staining.ResultsCompared with the control group,the ability of learning and memory of rats in treatment group increased,as well as the hippocampal pyramidal cells did.ConclusionHyperbaric oxygen therapy can be used to treat vascular dementia.

Objective To explore the effect of newly-designed gowns for critical patients. Methods Two hundred critical patients hospitalized for more than 3 days in the intensive care unit of our hospital during February 2013 to February 2015 were divided into the control group and observation group equally according to their odd or even registration number. The control group wore conventional dresses for patients (including a shirt and a pant) and the patients in the latter group were newly-designed gowns. The two groups were compared in terms of comfort, nursing manpower, nursing stuff and security. Result The observation group was significantly superior to the control group in terms of comfort, nursing manpower, nursing stuff and security (P<0.05). Conclusions The newly-designed gowns for critical patients can improve the comfort degree and save nursing manpower and stuff. It allows convenience in treatment and nursing.

Objective To search one ultrasonic method which could evaluate gastric emptying function accurately.Methods The gastric emptying time of 74 normal volunteers were measured by radioisotope scanning and different ultrasonic methods which including gastric antrum area,gastric antrum volume and whole gastric cylinder method.Results The gastric emptying time measured by whole gastric cylinder method related best with those measured by radioisotope scanning (r =0.79).The gastric emptying time was no significant difference between the cylinder method and radionuclide scanning (P ＞0.05).Compared with radionuclide scanning,those measured by gastric antrum area and gastric antrum volume had significant differences.Conclusions The whole gastric cylinder method can accurately reflect the gastric emptying function.

Objective To study the effect of mild hypothermia on β2- microglobulin (MG) level in cerebrospinam(CSF) of traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients.Methods Thirty-six severe TBI patients were divided into two groups randomly,mild hypothermia treatment group and normathermia treatment group,and the β2- MG level and GOS score in CSF of these patients in different time- point were evaluated.Results β2-MG level increased at first,then decreased gradually,and MBP level in mild hypothermia group decreased greater than the control group( P ＜ 0.05 ),moreover,patients in mild hypothermia treatment group had better outcome than the control group( P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Mild hypothermia may act as neuroprotection by inhibiting inflammatory response or improving immune regulation.

BACKGROUND: Many factors affect the outcome of olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation for obsolete spinal cord injury, such as the time of injury, segment and sex. The best time to do olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation is unknown up to now. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the influence of time windows of olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation on the recovery of motion and sensation function in spinal cord injury patients. DESIGN: Self-control observation. SETTING: Department of Neurosurgery, Taian Disabled Soldier's Hospital. PARTICIPANTS: 135 patients with spinal cord injury were enrolled at the Department of Spinal Cord Surgery, Taian Disabled Soldier's Hospital of Shandong Province from June 2004 to June 2007, including 121 males and 14 females, aged 7-59 years, averagely 36 years. Duration of spinal cord injury included 0-6 months in 21 cases, 7 months-2 years in 71 cases and over 2 years in 43 cases. These patients or their guardians signed an informed consent of the cell transplantation. The experimental procedures were accorded with the rules of Ministry of Health of China (No. 91-006) and approved by the Taian Disabled Soldier's Hospital of Shandong Province. METHODS: ①Olfactory bulbs of aborted fetus were digested into single olfactory ensheathing cells, and then cultured for 7-15 days. Parturients signed the informed consent. This study was approved by the Hospital Ethical Committee. ②After general anesthesia, olfactory ensheathing cell suspension was implanted into the corresponding region by the multi-targeted injection with a microscope. According to the injury condition, targets generally located in upper or lower injured region and left or right normal spinal cord. The amount of targets depends on the size of the injured region. About 1 000 000 units of cells were injected into each target, about 50 μL of suspension, at 2×1010 L-1, 2-5 targets. ③American Spinal Injury Association impairment scale was used to assess the motion and sensation function in spinal cord injury patients before transplantation and 2-8 weeks after transplantation. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Scores on American Spinal Injury Association impairment scale. RESULTS: 135 spinal cord injury patients were involved in the result analysis. Motion and sensation function was improved in spinal cord injury patients at different time windows compared with that before transplantation (P < 0.01). There was no significant difference in scores on motion and sensation function and the increased degree of the score at different time windows after transplantation (P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Olfactory ensheathing cell transplantation can promote the recovery of nerve function in spinal cord injury patients, without the difference in time windows.

Objective To investigate the serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (25 (OH)D3) and urine vitamin D binding protein(uVDBP) in patients with diabetic nephropathy (DN),and to determine the relationship between 25 (OH) D3,uVDBP and DN,in order to provide a new method for early diagnosis and treatment of DN.Methods From January 2015 to December 2015,85 DN patients admitted into Weihai Municipal Hospital were selected.According to the ratio of UALB to UCR(UACR),the patients were divided into three groups.Type 2 diabetes had 28 cases of normal albuminuria group,31 cases of microalbuminuria group,and 26 cases of clinical albuminuria group.We also enrolled 25 healthy people who received outpatient service as control group.Serum 25 (OH) D3 levels were measured by chemiluminescence method.Urine VDBP levels were assayed by ELISA.FPG,HbA1 c,UREA,SCr,TC,TG were measured by electrochemiluminescence.Results The results showed that serum 25 (OH)D3 was significantly lower in the normal albuminuria group,microalbuminuria group and clinical proteinuria group than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05),and there was statistically significant difference among the four groups [(20.04 ± 7.52) ng/mL,(16.54 ± 6.51) ng/mL,(10.77 ± 4.63) ng/mL,(29.65 ± 5.47) ng/mL,F =86.294,P ＜ 0.001].The results showed that uVDBP was significantly higher in the DN group than that in the control group(all P ＜ 0.05),and there was statistically significant difference among the four groups [(8.44 ± 3.20) mg/L,(14.22 ± 3.26) mg/L,(2 1.77 ± 5.87) mg/L,(4.95 ± 1.34) mg/L,F =125.583,P ＜ 0.001].Correlation analysis showed that serum 25 (OH) D3 decreased gradually with the increase of DN and negatively correlated with UACR (r =-0.575,P ＜ 0.01),while uVDBP level was positively correlated with UACR (r =0.436,P =0.015).Conclusion With the progress of DN,serum 25 (OH) D3 levels gradually decreased,indicating that 25 (OH) D3 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of DN;uVDBP may be an early diagnostic method for DN.
