Objective To analyze the clinical correlation between UU infection and tubal pregnancy in order to guide the correct clinical treatment. Methods Cultivation was used to detect UU in villi tissue of 30 tubal preg-nancy patients and natural aborted pregnant women respectively. Results There was remarkable difference(P0.05) between the positive rate of UU in tubal pregnancy(80 % ) and natural pregnancy(16.7 % ). Conclusion UU may be one of major pathogenic microorganisms in tubal pregnancy, and it's necessary to detect and treat UU con-ventionally.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the zinc and copper concentration and the clinical outcomes of in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(ivf-et).Methods The clinical data and zinc and copper concentration of serum on the days with human Chorionic gonadotropin(hCG) injection as well as that in the follicular fluid on the the day of oocyte retrieval were retrospectively analyzed in 43 cases with IVF-ET cycles.Results Application of pearson correlation analysis showed that copper concentration in follicular fluid of the 43 cases was positively correlated with the numbers of retrieved oocytes,fertilized oocytes and cleaved embryos( r were 0.392,0.327 and 0.321,respectively,P were 0.0094,0.0325 and 0.0361 respectively ) Between the pregnant group and non-pregnant group,the zinc and copper concentration in follicular fluid was not significantly different ( P ＞ 0.05 ) ; the serum estradiol ( E2 ) on the day of hCG administration was of significantly different(t =2.177,P =0.0353 );the serum zinc concentration on the day of hCG administration was of significantly different ( t =2.153,P =0.0372).Conclusion Trace elements zinc and copper might play an important role in the process of IVF-ET.

Aim To investigate the effects of rosiglitazone(ROZ)combined with cisplatin(DDP)on the growth of transplanted lung adenocarcinoma in mice and the corresponding mechanism.Methods The human lung adenocarcinoma mode was established with A549 cell in nude mice.Twenty eight female Balb/c-nu mice with lung adenocarcinoma were randomly divided into seven groups.① control group;② low-dose DDP group(1 mg?kg-1);③ high-dose DDP group(4 mg?kg-1);④ low-dose ROZ group(10 mg?kg-1);⑤ high-dose ROZ group(30 mg?kg-1);⑥ low-dose DDP plus low-dose ROZ group;⑦ low-dose DDP plus high-dose ROZ group;all the mice were sacrificed at 48 h after the last injection.Subcutaneous tumor was subjected to histological examination.Expressions of PPAR?、PTEN and pAkt in tumor tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.Results ① In every treatment group tumor growth was suppressed significantly.Intraperitoneal injection of low and high-dose DDP,low and high-dose ROZ,low-dose DDP plus low-dose ROZ and low-dose DDP plus high-dose ROZ group resulted in a significant inhibition of the growth of A549 cells in vivo compared with that of control group(P

Objective To observe the influence of pulse pressure on renal injury in patients with essential hypertension (EH).Methods Two hundred and twenty-nine patients with mild-to-moderate EH completed 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.The patients were divided into 2 groups according to 24 h mean pulse pressure (MPP):EH 1 (24 h MPP ≥ 60 mmHg,1 mmHg =0.133 kPa) group (128 cases) and EH2 (24 h MPP ＜ 60 mmHg) group (101 cases).According to 24 h urine microalbumin and biochemical determination of renal function,the influence of pulse pressure on kidney function was observed and compared.Results The 24 h mean systolic blood pressure (MSBP) and 24 h MPP in EH1 group were significantly higher than those in EH2 group [(156.20 ±6.11) mmHg vs.(143.67 ±5.46) mmHg,(69.09 ±5.87) mmHg vs.(51.15 ±7.15) mmHg] (P ＜0.01),the 24 h mean diastolic blood pressure (MDBP) in EH2 group was significantly higher than that in EH1 group [(92.52 ±5.93) mmHg vs.(87.11 ± 5.52) mmHg](P＜ 0.01).The 24 h urine microalbumin in EH1 group was significantly higher than that in EH2 group [(104.80 ± 24.25) mg vs.(91.29 ± 24.03) mg] (P ＜ 0.01).There was positive correlation between 24 h MPP,24 h MSBP and 24 h urine microalbumin (r =0.259,0.201,P ＜ 0.01),and there was negative correlation between 24 h MDBP and 24 h urine microalbumin (r =-0.180,P＜ 0.01).Conclusion The 24 h MPP is closely related with the renal injury which is caused by high blood pressure in patients with EH.

ObjectiveTo investigate the possible pathogenesis of EB virus (EBV) latent membrane protein 1 in inducing systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).MethodsThe mRNA expression levels of LMP1 and apoptosis-related genes bcl-2,bax in SLE patients and healthy controls were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The serum BAFF levels of SLE patients and normal healthy controls were detected by ELISA.2 test was used for positive rate analysis,2-△△Ct method was used for comparing the gene expression level,and Student-Newman-Kqeuls method was used for pair-wise comparison between the means.Results① The positive rate of LMP1 expression in 67 SLE cases was 25％,which was significantly higher than the 11％ in 65 healthy controls (P＜0.05).② The 2-△Ct value of bcl-2 mRNA expression level of SLE patients was 0.0257,1.41 times to that (0.0183) of healthy controls and the difference was statistically significant.③ The 2-△Ct value of bcl-2 mRNA expression level of LMP1 positive SLE patients was 0.0427,1.98 times to that of LMP1 negative SLE patients (0.0217),the difference was statistically significant.④ The serum BAFF levels of LMP1 positive SLE patients,LMP1 negative SLE patients,LMP1 positive healthy controls and LMP 1 negative healthy controls were ( 106± 15 ),(82± 19),( 68±19),(64±17) μg/L,respectively.There were significant differences between serum BAFF levels of LMPl-positive SLE patients and other groups(P＜0.0l ).There were significant difference between serum BAFF levels of LMP1-negative SLE patients and the control groups (P＜0.01).ConclusionEBV may induce and/or promote SLE by LMP1 through apoptosis-related genes bcl-2 expression and induction of B lymphocytes that produce BAFF,all these mechanisms can prolong the infected auto-reactive B lymphocytes survival.

AIM: In order to study the relationship between mitochondrial deficiency and Alzheimer's disease(AD), we used sodium azide, a specific inhibitor of cytochrome C oxidase(COX), to develop a cell model of mitochondrial complex IV deficiency and investigated the impairment of microtubules and microtubule-associated proteins. METHODS: Primary cultured hippocampal neurons of hewborn rats were exposed to sodium azide ,then cell viability was measured by MTT method; cell morphology, immunofluorecence-stained cellular microtubules and microtubule-associated proteins were observed by confocal microscopy. RESULTS: Primary cultured hippocampal neurons were exposed to 8-128 mmol/L sodium azide for 3-24 h, MTT absorbance decreased dose-and time-dependently. Exposed to 64 mmol/L sodium azide for 6 h, the processes of cells retracted, synapses disappeared, axons were shortened under contrast microscope. Meanwhile, microtubles were disassembled and became disorderly, the expression of microtubule-associated proteins were also reduced especially in the processes observed by confocal microscopy. CONCLUSIONS: Sodium azide inhibits the assembly and polymerization of tubulin in microtubules which may be reduced by low expression of microtubule-associated proteins in nerve cells. The damage of axons induced by microtubule collapse further blocks the intercellular signal transduction and intracellular material transportation which are important causes in cell death.

Objective To investigate the effects of oral care using hydrogen peroxide and sodium bicarbonate to prevent neonatal ventilator associated pneumonia(VAP). Methods Totally 209 neonates were recruited and divided into the experimental group with 104 cases and the control group with 105 cases by using random number table method. Based on conventional mechanical ventilation nursing,the experimental group received oral care using 1.5%hydrogen peroxide combined with 2.5% sodium bicarbonate,Q8H,while the control group received oral care using only 2.5% sodium bicarbonate,Q8H. Positive results of bacteria detection in tracheal sputum culture,the incidence rate of VAP,mechanical ventilation time,hospitalization time and hospitalization costs were compared between two groups. Results After 48 hours of mechanical ventilation,the difference in positive results of bacteria detection in tracheal sputum culture between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). The difference of incidence rate of VAP between two groups showed no statistical significance(P>0.05) when the duration of the mechanical ventilation was 48 hours. While after 48 hours of the mechanical ventilation,the difference of the incidence rate of VAP between two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). The differences in mechanical ventilation time and hospitalization time between two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05). The hospitalization costs of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group,while the difference showed no statistical significance(P>0.05). Conclusion The combined usage of hydrogen peroxide and sodium bicarbonate for oral care can effectively eliminate neonatal oral bacteria colonization and prevent neonatal VAP,so as to reduce the time of mechanical ventilation and hospitaliza-tion, and decrease hospitalization costs.

Cubic and conductive teaching pattern is based on standardized operation process of microbiological specimens. It uses multi-dimensional teaching methods including tests, question guid-ance, discussion, lectures, measurements and scientific researches to lead the undergraduate students to master the standardized inspection process and to train talents with good gifts and abilities in prac-tical application. The teaching pattern helps the trainees complete training in basic experiment skills, analysis and problem solving skills, scientific thinking and working methods. Then the corresponding practical quantification evaluation criteria has been established according to the standardized inspec-tion process to assess the interns' level of grasping various vocational skills and comprehensive appli-cation in the inspection process. This pattern reflects the teaching philosophy of modern laboratory medicine and can scientifically and objectively assess the talent cultivation quality and teaching quality. Since its implementation, these trainees have improved their overall vocational abilities, and made a good preparation for their practical work after school. Besides, it has enhanced the teaching level of microbiology laboratory practice and has been highly valued by interns. It is hoped that this practical experience will be a useful attempt to promote medical education development of modern laboratory medicine.

This study was conducted to explore a proper training model of interns' clinical thinking ability under the construction of a new four-year system of medical laboratory technology courses, combined with the establishment of innovative standard whole process practice mode. Multi-teaching methods of clinical thinking, such as explanation of laboratory sheet, interactive teaching based on micro digital system, interdisciplinary multiple information system, combined PBL teaching and intern report, were applied and evaluated in the laboratory. Integrated application of these methods remarkably improved the intern's com-prehensive professional quality and their practice performance. All methods received high evaluation from both the interns and teachers.

BACKGROUND:Donkey-hide glue reinforcing bone oral solution (DGRBOS) is effective on preventing and treating fracture, but the mechanism of harmacology is still not clear. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF-2) are important cytokines, which can promote blood vessel growth and osseous anabolism during fracture healing.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of DGRBOS on expression of VEGF and FGF-2 in the process of fracture healing of SD rats' fracture of tibia in bony callus, and explore the mechanism of DGRBOS in the treatment of fracture.DESIGN: A completely randomized controlled study.SETTING: Department of Traumatic Orthopedics, Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.MATERIALS: Ninety female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats, with a mean weight of (368±40) g, aged about 3 months, wereprovided by Center of Animal Experiment, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.Experimental drug: DGRBOS was donated by Xinjiang Huashidan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The qili linking bone pill,positive control drug, was purchased from Hunan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.METHODS: This experiment was carried out in the Laboratory for Bone Metabolism of Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine (Laboratory of Provincial Level), Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from June to November 2005. Transverse midshaft fractures were produced on the right tibia in these rats using three-point bending technique, and 90 rats were randomly divided into three experimental groups:the DGRBOS group (n =30): according to medicine conversional method between human being and animal, 2 mL DGRBOS was fed to every mouse by intragastric administration at 2 vices/day; the qili linking bone pill group (positive control group, n =30): the pills dissolved in distilled water at 225 g/L, and consequently were administered intragastrically into mice at 2 mL/vice and 2 vices/day; normal saline group (negative control group, n =30): normal saline was administered intragastrically into mice at the coordinative capacity and same frequences. Selecting 4, 7, 14,21 and 28 days during the experiment, the immunohistochemistry method was adopted to detect the change of expression of VEGF and FGF-2 through computing value of mean optical degree (MOD) and number of the positive cells.
