Korean Journal of Urology 1991;32(4):691-693
Liposarcoma of paratesticular origin is extremely rare and preoperative diagnosis is unusual. Myxoid type or liposarcoma is in general less malignant than testicular tumor and orchiectomy with high ligation and wide excision of tumor mass are probably the treatment of choice. We are present a case of myxoid liposarcoma and reviewed literatures.

Liposarcoma of spermatic cord is a rare malignant tumor. Because preoperative clinical diagnosis is very difficult, final diagnosis is made by postoperative pathologic examination. This tumor grows slowly and tends to recur locally. Therefore radical inguinal orchiectomy with wide local excision appears to be adequate treatment. We report a case of myxoid liposarcoma of right spermatic cord in 35 year-old male with a brief review of the literatures.

Korean Journal of Cytopathology 1990;1(2):139-146
The application of fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology to the soft tissue tumors had been neglected. In recent years, however, FNA has been used increasingly in the preoperative diagnosis of these tumors due to its usefulness and accuracy. We present 3 cases of liposarcoma, myxoid, myxoid with round cell, and pleomorphic, diagnosed by FNA cytology with histologic confirmation. Good correlation between histologic and FNA cytologic findings was found. Although the cytologic appearances of liposarcomas varied with histologic type, the main criterion was the presence of atypical multivacuolated lipoblast with characteristically scalloped nuclei.

Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(6):901-904
Retroperitoneal liposarcoma is reported to comprise 12 to 43 per cent of all liposarcomas that are about one-fourth of all the soft part sarcomas. Because of its early silent rapid growth and wide spread, there have been difficulties in early diagnosis and wide en-bloc excision in the retroperitoneum. Herein a case of huge retroperitoneal liposarcoma in a 41-year-old male is presented with a brief review of the literatures.

Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging 2017;21(4):252-258
Primary mesenteric liposarcoma is rare. It is difficult to make an accurate preoperative diagnosis of the myxoid type of liposarcoma by using imaging such as ultrasound or computed tomography (CT) due to the very small amount of fat that is located in the tumor. We report a case of primary myxoid liposarcoma of the mesentery which was difficult to differentiate from other solid mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component such as low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, myxoid leiomyosarcoma or myxoma. Use of chemical shift magnetic resonance (MR) imaging to detect small fat components and its cystic appearance with solid components on the MR images can be useful to differentiate myxoid liposarcoma from the other mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2007;50(6):932-935
Liposarcoma is one of the most common soft tissue sarcoma of adults and accounts for 1% in all malignant neoplasm. A liposarcoma of perineal origin is excessively rare, and preoperative diagnosis is difficult. Perineal liposarcoma was diagnosed in a 38-year-old woman. She presented with a large soft lump in the both perineal region of 4 months duration. We report a case of a liposarcoma on perineum which was treated with complete surgical resection without adjuvant radiation therapy. The patient has survived 2 years with no evidence of a recurrence.

Korean Journal of Urology 1997;38(4):445-448
Liposarcoma of the spermatic cord is very rare and preoperative diagnosis is difficult. Well differentiated liposarcoma is in general less aggressive than other type of liposarcoma and seldom metastasizes. Radical orchiectomy with wide local excision appear to be adequate treatment modality and offer better prognosis. We report a case of well differentiated liposarcoma in 51-year-old male with brief review of the literatures.

Liposarcoma is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in adults and accounts for 9.8% to 16% in all soft tissue sarcomas. The common sites include limbs, buttocks, and retroperitoneum, et al. The early diagnosis of retroperitoneal liposarcoma may be difficult because of due to the late onset of symptoms and the tumors are frequently noted in a large size with the involvement of adjacent structures. Surgical therapy remains the most effective modality for the treatment of retroperitoneal liposarcoma. But, complete surgical resection of these tumors is often challenging and, at times, may be impossible. So, adjuvant radiation therapy is necessary for the improvement of prognosis in many cases. We report a case of retroperitoneal liposarcoma which was treated with complete surgical resection followed by adjuvant radiation therapy.
