Korean Journal of Urology 1991;32(4):691-693
Liposarcoma of paratesticular origin is extremely rare and preoperative diagnosis is unusual. Myxoid type or liposarcoma is in general less malignant than testicular tumor and orchiectomy with high ligation and wide excision of tumor mass are probably the treatment of choice. We are present a case of myxoid liposarcoma and reviewed literatures.

Liposarcoma of spermatic cord is a rare malignant tumor. Because preoperative clinical diagnosis is very difficult, final diagnosis is made by postoperative pathologic examination. This tumor grows slowly and tends to recur locally. Therefore radical inguinal orchiectomy with wide local excision appears to be adequate treatment. We report a case of myxoid liposarcoma of right spermatic cord in 35 year-old male with a brief review of the literatures.

4.Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology of Liposarcoma: Report of 3 cases.

Korean Journal of Cytopathology 1990;1(2):139-146
The application of fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology to the soft tissue tumors had been neglected. In recent years, however, FNA has been used increasingly in the preoperative diagnosis of these tumors due to its usefulness and accuracy. We present 3 cases of liposarcoma, myxoid, myxoid with round cell, and pleomorphic, diagnosed by FNA cytology with histologic confirmation. Good correlation between histologic and FNA cytologic findings was found. Although the cytologic appearances of liposarcomas varied with histologic type, the main criterion was the presence of atypical multivacuolated lipoblast with characteristically scalloped nuclei.

5.A Case of Retroperitoneal Liposarcoma.

Korean Journal of Urology 1986;27(6):901-904
Retroperitoneal liposarcoma is reported to comprise 12 to 43 per cent of all liposarcomas that are about one-fourth of all the soft part sarcomas. Because of its early silent rapid growth and wide spread, there have been difficulties in early diagnosis and wide en-bloc excision in the retroperitoneum. Herein a case of huge retroperitoneal liposarcoma in a 41-year-old male is presented with a brief review of the literatures.

Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging 2017;21(4):252-258
Primary mesenteric liposarcoma is rare. It is difficult to make an accurate preoperative diagnosis of the myxoid type of liposarcoma by using imaging such as ultrasound or computed tomography (CT) due to the very small amount of fat that is located in the tumor. We report a case of primary myxoid liposarcoma of the mesentery which was difficult to differentiate from other solid mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component such as low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, myxoid leiomyosarcoma or myxoma. Use of chemical shift magnetic resonance (MR) imaging to detect small fat components and its cystic appearance with solid components on the MR images can be useful to differentiate myxoid liposarcoma from the other mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component.

8.Primary Multiple Mesenteric Liposarcoma of the Transverse Mesocolon.

Annals of Coloproctology 2013;29(3):123-125
Liposarcomas are common tumors arising in the retroperitoneum. However, a primary mesenteric liposarcoma is a rare entity and less than 50 cases have been reported so far. Further, a liposarcoma arising in the transverse mesocolon is very unusual, and cases of multiple primary tumors arising from the transverse mesocolon are extremely rare. We want to report a case of a multiple primary mesenteric liposarcoma arising from the transverse mesocolon in a 63-year-old female who was successfully treated by surgery. Because a primary mesenteric liposarcoma is a rare entity, it should be considered with the differential diagnosis of an abdominal mesenchymal tumor. It can be diagnosed preoperatively by using contrast enhanced computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. The treatment for such a liposarcoma is surgical resection with sufficient surgical margin; the role of adjuvant therapy has yet to be defined.
