Korean Journal of Urology 1991;32(4):691-693
Liposarcoma of paratesticular origin is extremely rare and preoperative diagnosis is unusual. Myxoid type or liposarcoma is in general less malignant than testicular tumor and orchiectomy with high ligation and wide excision of tumor mass are probably the treatment of choice. We are present a case of myxoid liposarcoma and reviewed literatures.

Liposarcoma of spermatic cord is a rare malignant tumor. Because preoperative clinical diagnosis is very difficult, final diagnosis is made by postoperative pathologic examination. This tumor grows slowly and tends to recur locally. Therefore radical inguinal orchiectomy with wide local excision appears to be adequate treatment. We report a case of myxoid liposarcoma of right spermatic cord in 35 year-old male with a brief review of the literatures.

Korean Journal of Cytopathology 1990;1(2):139-146
The application of fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology to the soft tissue tumors had been neglected. In recent years, however, FNA has been used increasingly in the preoperative diagnosis of these tumors due to its usefulness and accuracy. We present 3 cases of liposarcoma, myxoid, myxoid with round cell, and pleomorphic, diagnosed by FNA cytology with histologic confirmation. Good correlation between histologic and FNA cytologic findings was found. Although the cytologic appearances of liposarcomas varied with histologic type, the main criterion was the presence of atypical multivacuolated lipoblast with characteristically scalloped nuclei.

Korean Journal of Cytopathology 1990;1(2):185-190
The cytologic findings in fine needle aspiration of a case of myxoid liposarcoma of the mediastinum are described. The smear and cell block of the aspirate revealed solid clusters with background of amorphous material and scattered single tumor cells. The clusters were moderately cellular and consisted of atypical lipoblasts in varying stages of differentiation and delicate plexiform capillaries. Good correlation was found between the histologic and cytologic findings in the fine needle aspirates. The differential diagnosis between myxoid liposarcoma and other myxoid soft tissue tumors is discussed.

Investigative Magnetic Resonance Imaging 2017;21(4):252-258
Primary mesenteric liposarcoma is rare. It is difficult to make an accurate preoperative diagnosis of the myxoid type of liposarcoma by using imaging such as ultrasound or computed tomography (CT) due to the very small amount of fat that is located in the tumor. We report a case of primary myxoid liposarcoma of the mesentery which was difficult to differentiate from other solid mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component such as low grade fibromyxoid sarcoma, myxoid leiomyosarcoma or myxoma. Use of chemical shift magnetic resonance (MR) imaging to detect small fat components and its cystic appearance with solid components on the MR images can be useful to differentiate myxoid liposarcoma from the other mesenteric tumors with a myxoid component.

9.Myxoid Liposarcoma of Spermatic Cord Misdiagnosed for Hemangioma
Korean Journal of Urological Oncology 2018;16(2):86-88
Myxoid liposarcoma arose from the spermatic cord is very rare. Also, it is difficult to diagnose by clinical findings or radiologic study. Even if it was a malignant tumor, scrotal malignancy is often misdiagnosed in many cases. A 55-year-old man presented with a mass in the left scrotum. Tumor markers showed all normal range. A scrotal magnetic resonance imaging scan revealed a vascular tumor such as a hemangioma. But, we performed radical orchiectomy. The mass was diagnosed as paratesticular myxoid liposarcoma. It is important to keep in mind the differential diagnosis of paratesticular liposarcoma in the case of a painless scrotal tumor.
