2.Ziprasidone-induced stuttering: a case report
Sichuan Mental Health 2022;35(4):373-375
This paper reported a case of a 25-year-old male schizophrenic patient, who obtained remission from psychotic symptoms during the treatment of olanzapine and trihexylphenidyl, was given ziprasidone treatment additionally due to the occurrence of auditory hallucination, and developed stuttering 4 days later. The stuttering disappeared 2 days following the discontinuation of therapy, and reappeared after reinstitution of ziprasidone therapy, but disappeared again after discontinuation. The dose of olanzapine was increased to 20 mg/d to ensure the stability of psychotic remission. At a follow-up visit 4 months later, the patient’s mental condition was stable and stuttering did not recur, indicating that the stuttering was induced by ziprasidone. This case suggests that the possibility of stuttering as an adverse reaction should be considered in the clinical application of ziprasidone.

ObjectiveTo analyze the mental health status and its influencing factors in middle school students under the regular prevention and control of COVID-19, so as to provide references for the intervention and management of their mental health problems. MethodsFrom March 7 to 21, 2021, a stratified random sampling method was used to select 19 352 students from 17 schools in 3 districts and 9 counties of Linyi City, Shandong Province. Basic data were collected through a self-designed questionnaire. All students completed the Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) to assess their mental health status. Then the factors affecting the mental health status of middle school students were screened using independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA test and multiple stepwise regression analysis. Results① A total of 6 350 (32.81%) middle school students were found to have mental health problems. ② Each SCL-90 factor score and total average score yielded statistical difference among middle school students of different genders, relationships with classmate, closeness to friends, concerns about the epidemic, and pressure exerted by schoolwork (P<0.01). Each SCL-90 factor score and total average score of middle school students were significant different in terms of the hours of smartphone usage for recreation per day, sleep duration per night in hours and exercise frequency (P<0.01). ③ Multiple stepwise regression analysis denoted that female gender, poor relationship with classmate, no close friend and long hours of smartphone usage for recreation were the risk factors for mental health of middle school students (β=0.096, 0.183, 0.064, 0.232, P<0.01). ConclusionThe prevalence rate of mild mental health problems is quite high among middle school students under the regular epidemic prevention and control. Additionally, female gender, poor relationship with classmate, no close friend and long hours of smartphone usage for recreation have a negative impact on middle school students' mental health.
4.Impact of varicocele on semen quality and inhibin B concentration in serum and seminal plasma.
National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(1):44-47
OBJECTIVETo investigate the influence of varicocele (VC) on semen parameters and the concentration of inhibin B in the serum and seminal plasma of VC men.
METHODSWe collected semen and peripheral blood samples from 95 infertile VC patients and 55 normal fertile men. We performed semen routine examination by computer-assisted semen analysis and sperm morphology examination by modified Papanicolaou staining, and measured the levels of inhibin B in the peripheral blood and seminal plasma of the subjects by ELISA.
RESULTSCompared with the normal fertile controls, the infertile men with grade-I, -II and -III VC showed significantly lower percentages of morphologically normal sperm ([7.5 +/- 5.2]% vs [6.3 +/- 6.5]%, [2.6 +/- 3.0]% and [1.0 +/- 0.7]%, P < 0.05) and progressively motile sperm ([43.9 +/- 22.7]% vs [33.3 +/- 20.8]%, [28.9 +/- 19.8]% and [13.5 +/- 8.4]%, P < 0.05). The majority of the morphologically abnormal sperm were of the type of head deformity. The concentrations of inhibin B in the peripheral blood and seminal plasma were evidently lower in the infertile men with grade-I VC ([160.9 +/- 48.9] pg/ml and [208.3 +/- 28.1] pg/ml), grade-II VC ([150.6 +/- 44.7] pg/ml and [201.5 +/- 83.5] pg/ml), and grade-III VC ([132.6 +/- 41.5] pg/ml and [150.2 +/- 51.6] pg/ml) in comparison with those of the fertile control group ([201.0 +/- 38.1] pg/ml and [225.3 +/- 82.5] pg/ml).
CONCLUSIONVaricocele reduces sperm motility, increases sperm abnormality, decreases the concentration of inhibin B in the serum and seminal plasma, and consequently damages male fertility.

5.In vivo anti-tumor activity of tumor-targeting pH-sensitive lipoprotein-mimic nanocarrier with paclitaxel loaded.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2019;44(10):2072-2077
Paclitaxel( PTX) is used as a broad spectrum anti-tumor medicine. However, serious drawbacks restrict clinical application of PTX. In this study,we prepared tumor-targeting and pH-sensitive lipoprotein-mimic nanocarrier containing paclitaxel( BSALC/DOPE-PTX) to study the effective antitumor activity. The in vivo targeting ability of the nanocarrier in tumor bearing nude mice was evaluated by using a Kodak in vivo imaging system FX PRO. The in vivo anti-tumor activity was evaluated in MDA-MB-231 tumor bearing mice, and representative sections were stained with hematoxylin and eosin( H&E),and examined by light microscopy. The results showed that DiR-loaded FA-BSA-LC/DOPE selectively targeted tumor, and had a relatively long residence in the tumor tissue. According to the in vivo anti-tumor activity study,FA-BSA-LC/DOPE-PTX exhibited an outstanding tumor inhibition effect with a tumor growth inhibition rate of 79.3%,and tumor tissue sections stained by hematoxylin and eosin( HE) showed severe necrosis areas and many dead cells with condensed nuclei in the FA-BSA-LC/DOPE-PTX group. Therefore,FA-BSA-LC/DOPE-PTX is a biocompatible,tumor-targeting and pH-sensitive lipoprotein-mimic nanocarrier, with a very marked anti-tumor activity in tumor-bearing mice in vivo.

8.School Feeding Programs in the United States during 1853-2010
Chinese Journal of School Health 2023;44(2):173-175
Abstract
The Children s Aid Society of New York has been providing free food to students at local vocational schools since 1853. It wasn t until 1975 that the school lunch program was permanently mandated by Congress. The National School Lunch Program in America has gone through a historic process from its inception and establishment to its development. The continued interest and oversight of the American people, public opinion guidance by progressive people like nutrition reformers, home economics and other are external factors in the continued development of this program. The timely enactment of the bill by the federal government and the high concern of senior leaders on this project is an important prerequisite for continued development. Integrating this program into the national agricultural development strategy and realizing the overall development philosophy is the key to the sustainability of this program. Paying attention to children s physical health is the core reason why American School Feeding Programs focus on children s diet quantity to children s nutritional quality. All of these factors contribute to the development of this project.
10. Progress on blocking CD47 expression for tumor sensitization and normal tissue protection in radiotherapy
Tumor 2018;38(4):392-398
Radiation therapy plays an important role in the treatment of carcinoma. Though radiation can kill tumor cells, the radioresistance of tumor cells and the side effects of radiotherapy are still problems to be solved urgently in the treatment of clinical tumors. How to enhance radiosensitivity and radioprotection is a research hotspot and difficult problem for radiologists. In recent years, it has been found that CD47, as a member of the transmembrane Ig superfamily on the cell surface and an extracellular ligand of signal-regulatory protein α (SIRPα), regulates tumorigenesis and repair function of normal tissues after radiation injury. Blocking the expression of CD47 has been found to confer radioprotection of normal tissues while enhancing tumor radiosensitivity. This paper puts forward that CD47 can be regarded as a target of radiosensitization for improving the tolerance of normal tissues to radiotherapy while enhancing the radiosensitivity of tumor tissues, so as to improve the curative effect of tumor radiotherapy.
