1.The impact of land use/cover structure and changes on plague prevalence of Spermophilus Dauricus plague foci in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia

Objective To study the relationship between land use/cover structure and changes and risk of plague prevalence.Methods Chifeng,Aohan,Alukeerqin and Wengniute were selected as typical areas of Spermophilus Dauricus plague foci in Inner Mongolia,density of Spermophilus Dauricus,plague epidemic and land use data in 1986,1995,2000 were collected,and risk of plague prevalence was represented by the density of Spermophilus Dauricus and epizooty of Spermophilus Dauricus.The percentage of land type structure,change degree of integrated land cover,division index of grassland for plague suitable habitat were calculated with ArcGIS 9.3.The relationship between the land use,cover change and the plague epidemic were analyzed by the methods of comparative.Results From 1982 to 2000,the density of Spermophilus Dauricus was lower than 0.4/hm2 and no epizooty of Spermophilus Dauricus was observed both in Aohan Banner and Chifeng City,which indicated low risk of plague prevalence.Contrarily,from 1982 to 2000,the density of Spermophilus Dauricus was higher than 1.0/hm2,and epizooty of Spermophilus Dauricus was prevalent in Alukerqin Banner,which implied high risk of plague prevalence.In Wenguiute Banner,the density of Spermophilus Dauricus was lower than 0.3/hm2 from 1982 to 1990,after then showed a rising trend,reached higher than 1.0/hm2 in 1991,1995-1997,and epizooty of Spermophilus Dauricus was also monitored,which denoted high risk of plague prevalence;In 1986,1995 and 2000,the proportions of grassland of Wengniute Banner,Alukerqinqi Banner (51.36%,49.14%,48.28%;56.97%,57.48%,57.44%) were much higher than Chifeng and Aohan Banner (35.99%,33.24%,32.95%;38.94%,34.46%,31.31%),but those of arable land (16.81%,18.78%,20.22%;13.28%,14.92%,15.15%) were lower than Chifeng and Aohan Banner (39.73%,42.25%,42.67%;41.21%,43.99%,49.53%).The highest of comprehensively dynamic degree of land cover changes appeared in Aohan Banner,and it was 0.53 and 1.11 in 1986 vs.1995 and 1995 vs.2000,respectively,and the lowest in Alukeerqin Banner,it was 0.22 and 0.05 during those periods.The grassland division index in Alukeerqin Banner was the lowest,which was 0.29 in 1986,0.28 in 1995,and 0.29 in 2000.The grassland division index was higher and showed a upward trends in Aohan Banner,which was 0.57 in 1986,0.69 in 1995 and 0.71 in 2000.Conclusion There is a certain relation between risk of plague prevalence and land use/cover structure and changes.
2.CLINICAL EFFECT ANALYSIS OF THE BRONCHUS CUT OUT AND BRONCHOPLASTY FOR LUNG CANCER

Objective To investigate value and effect of the bronchus was cut out and bronchoplasty for lung cancer. Methods Twenty-one patients with lung cancer which all invased out one bronchial orifice and precluded standard lobectomy. The present of endobronchial tumor was cut out according to the lesion region during operation, the bronchoplasty performed by health bronchial wall. Results There were squamous carcinoma in 15 patients; adenocarcinoma in 4; small cell lung cancer and carcinoid each one patient. Staging: stage Ⅰ in 3 patients; stage Ⅱ in 12, stage Ⅲa in 6. The 19 patients were uneventful after operation. The 2 cases died from acute pulmonary embolism or gastric irritable ulcer with large bleeding in perioperation. Respiratory failure in all patients had not occurred. Bronchoscopy performed immediately after operation in 16 patients and in the period of following up 6-36 months in 12 patients, the mucosa of bronchoplastic sites was smooth, no bronchial stenosis and no tumoral relapse.The period of following-up was 4-72 months, median survival 42 months after operation. Five patients died from the metastases or relapse. Life time in survival patients was well. Conclusion The bronchial resection by cut out and bronchoplasty for lung cancer had a good results in near future and long period, and proved individualized and adapted selective type of resection for bronchoplasty of lung cancer.
3.The immunomodulatory effect of polysaccharide from brown seaweed

Purpose The aim is to investigate the effects of BSP on immunological function in normal and immunosuppressed mices.Methods Thymus and spleen indexes, peripheral blood WBC number,the lymphocyte proliferation response, IL-2 production and serum and splenocyte hemolysin contents were measured after intraperitoneal injection of BSP in normal and immunosuppressed mices.Results (1)BSP 100 mg/(kg*d)×10d significantly increased the thymus and spleen indexes and peripheral blood WBC number in immunosuppressed mice.The thymus and spleen indexes in normal mice was also increased. In addition,BSP markedly improved T,B lymphocyte proliferation responses and IL-2 production in normal and immunosupressed mices.(2) BSP improved the serum and splenocyte hemolysin contents in normal and immunosuppressed mice. Conclusion It was suggested that BSP was a kind of immunomodulator, and could improve the immunological function of normal and immunosuppressed mices.
4.Effects of right stellate ganglion block on expression of β3-adrenoceptor in rabbits with heart failure

Objective To evaluate the effects of the right stellate ganglion block on the expression of β3adrenoceptor (β3-AR) in rabbits with heart failure.Methods Forty-eight Japanese white rabbits of both sexes,weighing 2.5-3.0 kg,were randomly divided into 3 groups (n =16 each):sham operation group (group S),heart failure group (group HF) and right stellate ganglion block group (group RSGB).Heart failure was induced by occlusion of left anterior descending branch of coronary artery and confirmed by ultrasonic cardiography 4 weeks later.A PE-10 catheter was inserted into the right stellate ganglion for administration of drugs.0.25% bupivacaine 2 ml was injected through the catheter once a day for 2 weeks in group RSGB,while the equal volume of normal saline was injected instead of bupivacaine in S and HF groups.The left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD),left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD),ejection fraction (EF) and left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) were measured at 1 day before ligation (T0),before catheter insertion (T1),before 8th administration (T2),and 1 day after the last administration (T3).Eight rabbits were sacrificed at T1 and T3 in each group and myocardial specimens were obtained from the apex of the left ventricle for determination of the expression of β3-AR by Western blot.Results Compared with group S,the LVEDD and LVESD were significantly enlarged and LVEF and LVFS were decreased at T1-3,and the expression of β3-AR was up-regulated at T1,3 in groups HF and RSGB (P < 0.05).Compared with group HF,the LVEDD and LVESD were significantly decreased,LVEF and LVFS were increased,and the expression of β3-AR was significantly down-regulated at T3 in group RSGB (P < 0.05).Conclusion The right stellate ganglion block can improve the cardiac function of rabbits with heart failure through down-regulating the expression of β3-AR in myocardium.
5.EFFECTS OF BROWN SEAWEED POLYSACCHARIDE ON LYMPHOCYTE FUNCTION AND CYTOKINES PRODUCTION

Objective: To investigate the effects of BSP on lymphocyte function and cytokines production in normal and immunosuppressed mice.Methods: The lymphocyte proliferation response, T lymphocyte subpopulations and IL 2 production were measured after intraperitoneal injection of BSP in normal and immunosuppressed mice, and the activity of IL 1 and TNF secreted by mouse peritoneal macrophages were detected after BSP supplementation in vitro.Results: (1)BSP〔(100 mg/(kg?d)?10 d)〕markedly improved T,B lymphocyte proliferation responses and IL 2 production in normal and immunosuppressed mice, and significantly increased the number of L 3T + 4 cells in thymus and spleen of immunosuppressed mice, and the ratio of L 3T + 4/Lyt 2 + cells was also increased.(2)BSP distinctly enhanced the activity of IL 1 and TNF production by mouse peritoneal macrophages in vitro.Conclusion: BSP can improve the immunological function of normal and immunosuppressed mice.
6.Effect of therapeutic ultrasound on the normal human body blood coagulation and fibrinolytic system

7.Effects of ACTH combined with Huaiqihuang on rat hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis

Objective To investigate the effects of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)combined with Huaiqihuang on hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) in rats. Methods Fifty rats were randomly divided into five groups according to the random number table method:normal control group (group A), prednisone group (group B), Huaiqihuang group (group C), ACTH group (group D) and combined treatment group (group E) with 10 rats in each group. Rats in group B, C, D and E were gavaged by acetic acid prednisone water solution 12.5 mg/(kg · d) for 4 weeks to establish HPA axis suppression model. Group A was given distilled water 10 mL/(kg·d) as control. Rats in group C and E were gavaged with Huaiqihuang 5 g/(kg·d) 30 minutes after intragastric administration of prednisone acetate. At the third week of the experiment, group D and E were subcutaneous injected with ACTH 200 μg/(kg·d). The serum cortisol levels were measured respectively at the start of the ex?periment, 2 weeks and 4 weeks of experiment. Animals were sacrificed at the end of the experiment, and then weights of the pituitary, adrenal glands and the viscera index were calculated. The pathological changes of the pituitary and adrenal glands were observed by HE stainning. Results After 2 weeks, the serum cortisol levels were significantly lower in group B, C, D and E than those of group A (P<0.05), suggesting that the model was successful. After 4 weeks, the serum cortisol levels were significantly higher in group C, D and E than those of group B (P<0.05), and between the treatment group the value was group E>group D>group C (P<0.05). At the same time, the weights of pituitary and adrenal gland and the viscera in?dex were higher in the three groups than those of B group (P<0.05). The HE staining showed that there were no significant changes in the distal part of the pituitary gland in five groups. The adrenal cortex zona was thinning and the structure was dis?ordered in group B. There were different degrees of hyperplasia in group C, group D, and group E, which was the most obvi?ous in group E. Conclusion ACTH combined with Huaiqihuang can promote adrenal cortex zona hyperplasia and cortisol secretion, which reduces the glucocorticoid induced inhibition of HPA axis in rats.
8.Study on the electrophysiological characteristics of ion channels of stem cell derived cardiomyocytes of mouse

AIM: To study the electrophysiological characteristics of ion channels of stem cell derived cardiomyocytes (SCDC) of mouse. METHODS: Embryonic stem cells of D 3 line (ES-D 3) were cultured on the MEF feeder layer with BRL conditioned medium, and fetal mouse heart cells(FMHC)were cultured in vitro. Then ES-D 3 cells were induced to differentiate into many kinds of cells. SCDC were harvested on day 12 after differentiation initiating and identified by electro-microscope and immunocytochemistry. SCDC and FMHC were prepared for the patch-clamp research. Sodium and calcium currents together were elicited and compared between SCDC and FMHC. RESULTS: The current characteristics of sodium and calcium channels of SCDC were very similar to FMHC. CONCLUSION: The functional expression of ion channels occurred during ES-D 3 cells differentiation and the electrophysiological characteristics of sodium and calcium channels of SCDC are very similar to FMHC.

10.Effects of NOS2 inhibitor on left ventricular morphologic and haemodynamic parameters after myocardial infarction in rats

AIM: To study the role of NOS2 in the devel op ment of cardiac dysfunction after rat myocardial infarction by observing effects of S-methylisothiourea (SMT) on left ventricular morphology and haemodynamics. METHODS: An selective NOS2 inhibitor, was used. Administration o f SMT by gavage began 30 min before coronary ligation. Six weeks later, left ventricular morphologic and haemodynamic parameters were o bserved,and NOS2 expression, plasma NO 2-/NO 3- level and myocardial fibr osis were studied. RESULTS: Six weeks after myocardial infarction, NOS2 level in ra t non-infarct cardiac muscle, plasma NO 2-/NO 3- level, CVP and LVEDP were higher than that in controls.
