Objective To investigate the surgical treatment of occult breast cancer.Methods The clinical data of 11 cases of occult breast cancer were analyzed retrospectively.Results In 11 female cases aged between 44and 70 years old,2 cases were accompanied with supraclavicular node metastasis.Axillary node enlargement was presented as the first sign,which was located in left side in 4 cases and right side in 7 cases.3 cases underwent axillary lymph lode desection,2 cases accepted axillary node excision and other 2 cases with supraclavicular node enlargement only underwent excisional biopsy.All patients received radiochemotherapy and endocrine therapy.All cases were followed-up from 8 months to 9 years and 6 months,during which 3 cases died,with the 5 years survival rate of 54.5%(6/11).Conclusion Combined treatment is suitable to occult breast cancer.Modified radical mastectomy or breast conserving surgery should be conducted,but axillary lymph node desection may be conducted when the diagnosis is established.

Objective To explore the value of fiberoptic ductoseopy in diagnosis and treatment of nipple discharge diseases.Methods From March 2007 to March 2008,91 patients with nipple discharge were admitted in our hospital.These patients were diagnosed and treated using flberoptic ductoscope FVY-780,and their documents were retrospectively analyzed.Results All the 91 cases were successfully diagnosed and treated with fiberoptic ductoscopy.54 cases(59.3%) were diagnosed as protrusion lesions,19 of whom experinced multiple protrusion,and 5 cases(5.5%) of early breast carcinoma were confirmed by postoperative pathology.37 patients(40.7%) diagnosed as non-protrusion lesions were treated by irrigation therapy,some of whom improved or cured.Conclusions Fiberoptic ductoseopy is the first choice of examination for nipple discharge,and it has important clinical values in choosing procedures for it can show precisely the cause and lesion site.Surgery can thereby be avoided for non-protrusion lesions.Locating the site of lesions in mammary ducts guided by fiberoptic duetoscopy may make operations more accurate and minimally invasive.

Background and purpose:CpG methylation in promoter region is an essential mechanism for the dysfunction of the tumor suppression gene.Folate metabolism provides active methyl for organism methylation.Methionine synthase(MS) plays a vital role in the process of folate metabolism.This study aimed to explore the genetic polymorphism of MS, CHD5 methylation and their association with breast cancer morbidity.Methods:Fortyseven patients with primary breast cancer, 52 healthy subjects and 15 breast hyperplasia patients were enrolled in this experiment.The mRNA expression of CHD5 was determined by reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR).Methylationspecific PCR(MSP) was used to detect the methylation status of CHD5.Polymorphisms in the MS gene were analyzed through the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP).Results:The mRNA expression of CHD5 in breast cancer tissues(0.27?0.19) and adjacent non-cancerous tissues(0.33?0.17) were both significantly lower than that in the breast hyperplasia tissues(0.67?0.14)(P

Objective To study the anti-aging effect of caloric restriction in aged rats. Method Thirty-four male aged SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups. The experimental groups were given 80% and 60% diet of the control respectively. After 6 months we measured serum SOD,MDA,IL-2,the activity of NO,MAO in brain tissue and apoptosis index of hepatocytes. Results The activities of NO in brain tissue,SOD and IL-2 in serum in experimental groups were significantly higher than those in control group. Serum MDA,MAO of brain tissue and apoptosis index of hepatocytes in experimental groups were lower than those in control. Conclusion Caloric restriction shows anti-aging biological effects in aged rats.

Objective To evaluate ultrasound combined with thri-operators and the blood-oxygen functional image (TOBOFI) technology in diagnosis of breast cancer in young women. Methods 221 breast tumor patients under 45 years old were selected to analyze their TOBOFI and ultrasonographic characteristics respectively. Based on pathological result, the two diagnostic methods were compared to determine the accurate rate. Results Of all the 221 patients, 82 (37.1%) were malignant and 139 benign. The sensitivity of TOBOFI and ultrasonography was 90.24% and 83.57% respectively, while the accurate rate of the two was 89.14% and 84 62% respectively. Accurate rate was improved to 93.90 % (77/82) if the two were combined. Conclusion TOBOFI has unique clinical value in diagnosing breast cancer in young women, especially in combination with ultrasound.

Objective To summarize the experiences and results of completed surgical treatment for double outlet of right ventricle in 135 cases.Methods From May 2007 to May 2012,135 cases with double outlet of the right ventricle,males are 79 cases,female are 56 cases,age from 25 days to 12 years,weigh is 3.5-30.0 kg,underwent surgical procedure.There were 89 cases subaortic ventricular septal defect,33 cases doubly committed ventricular septal defect,repaired VSD with introventricular tunnel and relive right ventricle outflow tract directly with pericardial patch.There are 8 cases subpulmonary (Taussing-Bing)VSD,5 received Rastelli procedure,3 received arterial switch procedure and repaird VSD.There are 5 cases noncommited VSD,3 received Rastelli procedure,2 received arterial switch procedure and repaired VSD.Results Four cases died in the early postoperative period,with a mortality of 3.70％.1 case with subpulmonary VSD was performed arterial switch procedure and repaired VSD.1 case with noncommited VSD,2 cases with subaortic VSD(with pulmonary stenosis) were performed repaired VSD with introventricular tunnel and relive right ventricle outflow tract directly with pericardial patch.1 case with noncommited VSD was performed Rastelli procedure.Conclusion The anatomic type,especially the position of ventricular septal defect,correlates with surgical strategy significantly.

Objective To evaluate thri-operators and the blood-oxygen functional image technology in di-agnosing breast cancer. Methods One hundred and forty-six patients were admitted to hospital for operation due to one hundred and fifty-three suspicious lesions detected in their breasts. These lesions were detected by physical examination, thri-operators and the blood-oxygen functional image, mammography uhrasonography. The sensitivity and specificity of each diagnostic method were obtained and the radiolagie-pathologic correlation was meanwhile calculated. Results Sixty one(41.8%)breast lesions were diagnosed as malignancy. The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy,positive prognostic value and negative prognostic value of ultras onography were 80. 33% ,89. 41%,85.61% ,84.48% and 86.36%. Such data of mammography were 57.89% ,80. 36% ,69.03% ,75.00% and 65. 22%. And those of thri-operators and the blood-oxygen functional image technology were 91.80% ,83.53%, 86.99% ,80.00% and 94.67%. Conclusions Thri-operators and the blood-oxygen functional image technology is superior to uhrasonography and mammography in diagnosing breast lesions with its sensitivity accuracy and neg-ative prognostic value, while specificity and positive prognostic value were between them, have greater value in screeninging and the diagnosing breast cancer.

ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of miR-155 in whole blood of patients with breast cancer and explore the possibility of miR-155 in whole blood as a marker of beast cancer. Methods65 cases (breast cancer:47 cases, non-breast cancer:18 cases) in Thyroid and Breast Surgery Department of No.1 People's Hospital of Huai'an from Dec 2010 to Apr 2011 were enrolled according to the selected criteria.Two milliliters anticoagulant blood were sampled to isolate total RNA.The expression level of miR-155 in whole blood was measured by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (real-time qPCR)analysis.The relationship between the expression level of miR-155 in whole blood and the clinical pathological fearutres was analyzed.ResultsThe expression level of miR-155 in breast cancer patients was up-regulated compared with that in non-breast cancer patients(P ＜ 0.05).The expression level of miR-155 in patients with positive lymph nodes was up-regulated compared with that in patients with negative lymph nodes( P ＜ 0.05).The expression level of miR-155 in stage Ⅲ breast cancer was up-regulated compared with that in stage Ⅰ & Ⅱ breast cancer( P ＜ 0.05 ).The expression level of miR-155 in patients with positive ER and PR was down-regulated compared with that in patients with negative ER and PR breast cancer.Conclusion The study demonstrates that the expression of miR-155 in whole blood is related to clinical pathological features of patients with breast cancer and can be used as a potential marker of breast cancer.

Objective To determine the capability of echocardiography to identify primary cardiac valve myxomatous degeneration (PCVMD) compared to pathological findings and to determine the echo features of PCVMD. Methods Echocardiograms were retrospectively compared with pathological findings of 1080 patients who underwent surgery for moderate or severe valve regurgitation. PCVMD of the mitral,aortic and tricuspid valves was retrospectively identified, with a comparison of the echocardiography and pathology findings,to calculate the prevalence of PCVMD,and to summarize its echocardiography features.Results A total of 104 patients were diagnosed with PCVMD (prevalence of 9. 62%) with 117 lesions.Valvular regurgitation were confirmed by echocardiography in all patients( 100 % ). Valve morphology change including valve prolapsed, valve thickening and redundancy were confirmed by echocardiography in 101 lesions(86.3 % ), but suggestive diagnosis were done by echocardiography in only two patients. Conclusions In patients undergoing surgery for valvular regurgitation,a high prevalence of PCVMD was found. PCVMD had distinctive echocardiographic features,suggesting its preoperative diagnosis.

BACKGROUND:Previous tudies have shown that the anti-aging effects of stem cel s with lycopene are more significant, and can also significantly improve the aging body immune function.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the anti-aging effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cel s combined with lycopene on the aging beagles.
METHODS:Sixteen aging beagles (6-7 years old) were randomly divided into two groups:aging control group and aging treatment group;young beagles (3-4 years old) were chosen as young control group. In the aging treatment group, human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cel s combined with lycopene was given;while in the other two group, an equal amount of DMEM/F12 cel culture medium and sunflower oil was given. Each dog's general conditions were observed regularly during the whole progress. The changes of superoxide dismutase,
malondialdehyde, glutathione peroxidase in the serum were detected at regular time of the whole process, and the structure changes of each organ were observed at 24 weeks of treatment.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) Before treatment, the levels of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase in the aging control and treatment groups were lower than those in the young control group (P<0.05), while the malondialdehyde content was higher than that in the young control group (P<0.05). However, there was no significant statistical difference between aging control and treatment groups (P>0.05). (2) For the aging treatment group at 24 weeks of treatment:the beagle fur became clearer and smoother, motility was strengthened, appetite became better;and the activity of superoxide dismutase in serum at 8 to 24 weeks of treatment increased significantly compared with before treatment (P<0.05), the activity of glutathione peroxidase significantly increased from 6 weeks (compared with treatment before, P<0.05), the malondialdehyde content decreased significantly from 4 weeks of treatment to the completion of the experiment (compared with before treatment, P<0.05). (3) After the experiment, the microscopic observation showed that compared with the aging control group, the tissues and organ structures of the aging treatment group were al clear, had no inflammatory infiltrates, no obvious necrosis and fibrosis lesions. These results were mainly consistent with the observations of young control group. The above results show that umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cel s combined with lycopene therapy on the natural aging beagles may enhance the activities of antioxidant enzymes, reduce malondialdehyde content, and their combination also can repair tissue structures and promote the functions, which has obvious anti-aging effects.
