Objective To investigate the predictive value of peripheral leukocyte and its subtypes count on cerebral-cardiovascular events in patients with unstable angina pectoris. Methods From December 2000 to January 2003,141 patients(aged 41-84 years) with unstable angina pectoris referred for coronary angiography were enrolled and their peripheral leukocyte and its subtypes were counted. The major adverse cerebral-cardiovascular events rate of these patients during 46.2?6.6 months of follow-up were assessed. Results A total of 55 cerebral-cardiovascular nonfatal events and 8 deaths were observed. After adjusting the risk factors of diabetes mellitus, smoking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, prior myocardial infarction, family history, and blood fibrinogen and uric acid level, leukocyte count was positively associated with cerebral-cardiovascular events(adjusted relative risk 1.31,95% CI 1.15 to 1.49).The monocyte count in patients with cerebral-cardiovascular events was higher than that in patients without cardiovascular events(P

Objective To evaluate the magneto-heating effect and cytotoxicity of the carbonyl iron powder as a feasibility for arterial embolization hyperthermia. Methods Different doses of carbonyl iron powder suspensions were prepared in vitro(10 mg/ml,100%;10 mg/ml,50%;or 64 g/L phenol solutions),and heated for 20 minutes in an alternating magnetic field(49.9,79.9,and 110.2 Oe).The influences of the doses of suspensions and currency of magnetic field on the heating effect were observed.Meanwhile, mouse fibroblast L-929 cells were cultured with the suspensions for 2,4,or 7 days. The morphology and relative growth rate(RGR) of the cells were determined by microscopy and MTT assay. The cytotoxicity of the suspensions was then classified. Results The heating ability of the carbonyl iron powder increased with the suspension concentration and the strength of the magnetic field.A optimal therapeutic temperature was achieved at 110.2 Oe with 60 mg/ml carbonyl iron powder suspension. The L-929 cells showed normal morphology after been treated by the carbonyl iron powder(10 mg/ml 100% solution and 50% solution) for 2,4 and 7 days with the 0-1 degree cytotoxicity. Conclusion The carbonyl iron powder has good heating effect under the alternating magnetic field, and is compatible with the tested cells.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(36):5848-5852
BACKGROUND:There are less studies on static magnetic field, and its biological effects are stil unclear. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the static magnetic field effect on the secretion of nerve growth factor from Schwann cel s. METHODS:Schwann cel s were randomly assigned into three groups:0.05 mT sciatic magnetic field group, 0.1 mT sciatic magnetic field group and control group. At 2 days of inoculation, the cel s were exposed to the sciatic magnetic field, 12 hours per day. Cel s in the control group were not exposed to the sciatic magnetic field. After 6 days of exposure, RT-PCR method was used to detect nerve growth factor mRNA expression in Schwann cel s, and ELISA was adopted to detect the level of nerve growth factor secreted from Schwann cel s. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The mRNA expression and secreted level of nerve growth factors in the culture supernatant were significantly higher in the two sciatic magnetic field groups than the control group (P<0.05), especial y in the 0.1 mT group. However, there was no difference between the 0.05 mT and 0.1 mT groups (P>0.05). These findings indicate that the static magnetic field with certain intensity can promote the secretion of nerve growth factors from Schwann cel s.

Chinese Journal of Interventional Imaging and Therapy 2010;7(2):171-173
Objective To assess the application of spiral CT angiography in the diagnosis of Takayasu arteritis. Methods Vascular imaging features of three-dimensional CT angiography of 56 patients with Takayasu arteritis were analyzed retrospectively. Results The vascular imaging of all the patients were qualified for diagnosis.A total of 175 arteries were involved, including subclavian arteries (36.00%,63/175) with a high percentage of the left subclavian arteries (24.00%,42/175) ,common carotid arteries (29.71%,52/175) and renal arteries (10.86%,19/175) .The affected artery wall had varying degrees of concentric or eccentric thickening, and stenosis or occlusion of lumen was observed. Conclusion Threedimensional spiral CT angiography can make clear diagnosis of Takayasu arteritis, including the scope, extent and nature, and thus is worthy of clinical application.

Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2017;16(5):403-406
Aspirin has demonstrated its efficacy in the prevention of adverse events related to cardiovascular disease, and lots of epidemiological studies suggest that it also can be used to prevent colorectal cancer and to decrease its recurrence after curative resection. The guideline published by USPSTF recently first time affirms the overall health benefit of aspirin in colorectal cancer prevention.Aspirin could prevent the colorectal cancer by the cyclooxygenase-dependent mechanisms and the COX-independent mechanisms. In this review, we will summarize some results of related researches and discuss the possible mechanisms.

Objective To establish the quality control method for Sanhuang Suppository. Methods Coptidis rhizoma, Scutellariae radix and Phellodendri chinensis cortex in Sanhuang Suppository were identified by TLC. The contents of baicalin and berberine hydrocholride were determined by HPLC which was performed on an Agilent Zorbaxsb C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm, 0.45 μm) with a mobile phase of methanol-water-phosphoric acid (47∶53∶0.2), with flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The wavelength of detector was set at 280 nm for baicalin and 365 nm for berberine hydrochloride, with column temperature of 30℃.Results Chromatographic characteristics of qualitative identification were evident. The linear range of baicalin was 0.248-2.48 μg (r=0.999 9) and the average recovery rate was 99.77% (RSD=1.05%). The linear range of berberine hydrocholride was 0.336-1.68 μg (r=0.999 9) and the average recovery rate was 97.74% (RSD=1.48%).Conclusion The method of qualitative and quantitative analysis is accurate, feasible and suitable for effective quality control of Sanhuang Suppository.
