AIM AND METHODS: To explore the effects calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and endothelin-1(ET-1) on the mechanisms of hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH),the contents of CGRP and ET-1 in plasma of pulmonary artery and thoracic aorta and in extractives of lung and ventricular tissues of the chronic hypoxic rats were determined by radioimmunoassay. The changes of their hemodynamic indices and right heart hypertrophy index were monitored simultaneously. RESULTS: The level of pulmonary artery plasma CGRP was significantly higher than that of thoracic aorta plasma, but just the reverse was ET-1 or the ratio of ET-1 and CGRP in control rats( P

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the law of auditory remodeling by studying the Cortical Auditory Evoked Potential in a group of post-lingually deaf adults in the early stage of the cochlear implant use.
METHOD:
Ten post-lingually deaf adults implanted with PULSAR ci 100 of Medel device ranged from 19 to 52 years old with duration of deafness from 3 months to 23 years.were involved. Their P1-N1-P2 responses to /ba/ at around 60-70 dB SPi and open-set speech recognition scores of mono-syllabic words were recorded at 1. 3 and 6 months after the switch-on of cochlear implants.
RESULT:
Six out of 10 typical waveforms of Pl-N1-P2 were obtained. The other I were with atypical waveforms. The group with atypical waveform was characterized by long duration and early onset of deafness. There was no significant difference regarding either the amplitude or the latency of each peak at the 3 data collection time points. There was significant difference among the 3 data collection time points about the speech recognition scores with the highest score at the 6th month of switch on. There was no significant correlation between the peak of the CAEP and speech recognition score.
CONCLUSION
In the first 6 months of cochlear implant use in the post-lingually deaf adults, the duration and the onset age of deafness played important role in respect of the presence and waveform morphology of the CAEPs. It needs at least 6 months for the central auditory system to make use of the audio input from the cochlear implant.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 2020;36(3):197-201
Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients with trauma are at high risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), which must be taken seriously in the therapeutic processes. Hypercoagulable state is induced by 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in many ways, such as increasing the level of inflammatory factors and fibrinogen, and inducing endothelial cell injury. The venous wall injuries from trauma and operation directly or indirectly trigger off the exogenous coagulation pathway and the microcirculation can be damaged at the same time, which may initiate the exogenous pathway of VTE. Immobilization of limbs and forced bed rest during the treatment of traumatic patients will slow venous blood flow. Chronic non-communicable diseases such as diabetes in the elderly were independent risk factors for VTE. Furthermore, the persistent fever, severe lung disease, respiratory failure, sepsis and invasive technology application add the risk of VTE and the difficulty of treatment. In order to help effective prevention VTE of for COVID-19 patients with trauma, the authors put forward relevant technical suggestions for prevention and nursing of VTE to provide basis for nursing work during pandemic of COVID-19.

Chinese Journal of Pathology 2020;49(2):134-138
Objective:
To investigate the clinicopathological manifestations, molecular genetic, diagnostic histology and differential diagnosis of alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) in children.
Methods:
A total of 13 cases of ASPS diagnosed at Beijing Children′s Hospital from August 2009 to November 2018 were collected. HE staining, histochemical staining for PAS and D-PAS, immunohistochemical (IHC) staining for TFE3, INI1 and CD68 and florescence in situ hybridization (FISH) for TFE3 gene translocation were performed.
Results:
There were four males and nine females, age ranged from 1 year and 2 months to 13 years and 8 months (mean 7.8 years); and four patients were under 5 years old. Histologically, the tumors showed a distinctive and characteristic nested or organoid growth pattern (11 cases) or solid, diffuse growth (2 cases). The tumor cells possessed abundant eosinophilic, or glycogen-rich and clear to vacuolated cytoplasm. The chromatin was relatively dispersed, with prominent and pleomorphic nucleoli; mitotic figures were rare. Vascular invasion was frequently seen. IHC staining showed specific nuclear TFE3 staining. The tumor cells were also positive for INI1,CD68 and vimentin; but were negative for MyoD1, Myogenin, CK and S-100 protein. Seven cases showed PAS and D-PAS staining, with fuchsia acicular or rod-shaped crystals in tumor cytoplasm. Nine cases showed TFE3 break-apart signals by FISH.
Conclusions
ASPS is a rare soft tissue sarcoma in children. Compared with ASPA in adults, it has both similarities and unique clinicopathologic characteristics. The diagnosis needs to be confirmed by combining clinical, pathologic, IHC and genetic testing.

OBJECTIVE:To study the ef fects of Gegen qinlian decoction (GGQLD)on blood lipid and blood glucose of hyperlipidemia(HLP)model rats ,and to explore its mechanism from the perspective of intestinal flora. METHODS :Totally 48 rats were randomly divided into blank control group (n=8)and modeling group (n=40). For consecutive 5 weeks, model group was given high-lipid diet to induce HLP model ;blank control group was given routine diet. After modeling ,30 modeling rats were randomly divided into model group ,simvastatin group (positive control ,10 mg/kg),GGQLD high-dose ,medium-dose and low-dose groups (14.85,4.95,1.65 g/kg,by crude drug ),with 6 rats in each group. Blank control group and model group were given constant volume of normal saline intragastrically ;administration groups were given relevant medicine intragastrically ,once a day,for consecutive 11 weeks. At the same time ,each group was continuously given corresponding diet. After the last medication , body mass and body length of rats were determined ,and Lee ’s index was calculated. Serum levels of TG ,TC,HDL-C,LDL-C and fasting blood glucose (FBG)were determined in rats. DNA of rat caecum content was extracted for 16S rRNA V 3-V4 region sequencing. The Two-part model was used to analyze the correlation between intestinal flora with lipids and blood glucose. RESULTS:After 11 weeks of administration ,compared with blank control group ,the body mass ,body length ,Lee’s index , serum levels of TC ,TG,HDL-C and FBG of model group were increased significantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01),while the level of HDL-C was decreased significantly (P<0.05). Compared with model group ,body mass and Lee ’s index and serum levels of TG , FBG of rats in GGQLD high-dose group ,and serum levels of TC ,TG in GGQLD medium-dose group ,as well as serum level of TG of rats in GGQLD low-dose group was decreased significantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Correlation analysis with intestinal flora showed that TC and TG shared 3 operational taxonomic units (OTU),including OTU 559,OTU701 and OTU 135(OTU135 was also shared with FBG ),which were all positively correlated with the level of TC ,TG and FBG (P<0.01). The three OTU were annotated as Tyzzerella of Spirillaceae ,Anaerotruncus of Verrucaceae and Peptoclostridium of Streptococcidae ,respectively. High-dose and low-dose GGQLD had a down-regulating effect on Tyzzerella and Anaerotruncus(P<0.05 or P<0.01),while had up-regulating effect on Peptoclostridium(P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS :High-dose GGQLD (14.85 g/kg)can effectively reduce the body mass and blood lipid of HLP model rats ,and can prevent the abnormal increase of blood glucose of model rats. The mechanism may be associated with that the reduction of intestinal flora (Tyzzerella,Anaerotruncus)content.
